Everytime I see a commander tag in cursed shore I just want to throw up. Does it make you feel special? or do you just not know how to turn it off? Probably this thread wont make a difference because your probably just as useless in WvWvW.

The only thing I think it could be useful for in PvE, is getting people to large events, such as opening Arah back up, other than that, yeah, no need to have commander tags on outside of WvW

I can definitely understand commander tags for the Cathedral events. Those do take a bit of coordination. Other than Orr, they really are not needed anywhere else outside of WvW.

They should be disabled outside of WvW. Period. All it is for many is “look how much gold I made”. Then those people zone into WvW to dork around with their tags on and draw all the solo players looking for leadership and direction. There are way too many players in the game that have the Commander tome and have no interest in WvW whatsoever.

I used my Commander tag in the Mad Kings labrynth to show people where events were. I also helped show people were things were for the scavenger hunt.

PvE areas doesn’t bother me, because there is a possibility they might be using it for an event, or at least something organized.
What bothers me is the people in LA. Its become a ritual for me to look through the commanders in LA every time I go there and troll the ones I’ve never (literally, not once) seen in WvW.

At least give everyone the option to turn off the commander icons. I don’t need a commander in PVE to find an event or organize with other players to effectively participate in one. Outside of WvW, these icons are unnecessarily and annoyingly taking up space on my map, and they scream, “See me, because I seek attention. I’m a commander, people, and I’m super duper special!” It makes me roll my eyes.

They do have that option. And they are the most special people in the game and deserve our respect, awe, and admiration.
