I’ve noticed that when you look on the mini map you don’t always see the commander icon, especially when there are like 30 players on the zerg. On the contrary you see lot of green points covering the commander icon, it’s really hard to follow him with this mechanism. Is this a bug or something?

not so much as a bug as an oversight. Zooming out makes it a bit easier to see, especially if you are seeing the condensed area.

A few times I have relied on locating the commander just by looking for the highest concentration of green dots and their movement, along with the slight shadowing that ends up being a commander.

It is a bug, expect a fix soon.
