I am leaving my current server looking for a place to better fit my time schedule and to just get a fresh start. I have spent all my time since launch in my current server, however, the WvW is lacking and the prime hours for playing happen to be while im sleeping.

I’m looking for a large WvW community that understands what working together means. I primarily play during the PST afternoon-night hours. I also know how to be a commander (my skill at it is not something I’ll comment on).

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance.

Actually, want to tell me what’s your primary time zone?

Because if you are US player and a better time schedule doesn’t fit you ... I’m assume you play either during midnight/early morning?

If that’s the case, you should probably seek out Asian guilds on DB, as far as I know, there’s alot of Taiwanese/Asians in DB

I just recently asked a similar questions and got two good responses in my thread. Leaning towards Fort Aspenwood atm.

THINK!

Chaster, could you please stop “recruiting” for Kaineng by sending people (commanders!) to our future OPPONENTS’ servers!? <boggle>

Phur,

Before you leave Dragonbrand, come back out to WvW a couple of times. I know I haven’t seen you there in a while, and our prime-time crew strengthened considerably. We really upped our game once we found ourselves in a new tier.

We were competitive all night last night, and two nights ago we took almost the whole borderlands of Maguuma (1st place in the matchup) during their prime hours and were 2nd in points per tick during what has traditionally been our weakest time and this is with Maguuma and Yak’s Bend both openly teaming up on us. We’re coordinating attacks across servers during primetime, we had a queue on our borderlands last night, we’re working hard to get better inter-guild communication going, our sieges are getting more sophisticated, and we’ve been learning how to move people and supply between maps so that they can be where they’re needed.

We fought our way from the bottom of t5 up to t4, and we made such a strong showing that both other servers are ganging up on us during prime time and we’re still making a respectable showing (we’d be winning except that NNK is taking a break to get ready for the new year). You were the first commander I knew in WvW and you’re a good guy, and it would be great to keep you on Dragonbrand where we both started.

Indeed,
I gotta say, our NA prime time has strengthened over the last few weeks.
It started picking up after the first fight with Darkhaven four (five?) weeks ago and has gotten only stronger since then.

We’re at an interesting spot where our weakest point of the day is most server’s strongest point. If we were to bring more people to Dragonbrand who play during NA prime time (This is especially contingent on people not leaving Dragonbrand), we would be much more influential during all timezones.

You’ve stuck it out with Dragonbrand since launch and so have I, so I know you’ve seen improvements since all the guilds left and we were lucky to ever pass +100 in wvw all week.

PS: While I know some tier1-3 servers will claim to have this awesome wvw experience, it’s very likely that every server suffers from the same problems you’re having in wvw one time or another, so you may leave only to find the situation no different where ever you go to.

I’m an honest man, I always gives the best suggestion to ones seeking help, regardless if it’s future opponent or not. This is not like we need to cheat and manipulate people in order to win. If he has been in DB long enough, I’m sure he’d grown bonds with people in that server, it’d be a loss to their server if they lose a good commander.

I honestly hate those who waves and smiles at you and invite you to their server just because you have power and position. Sure, I know you would really need my power and ability, but you guys did not even cared about how I feel about leaving home.

If he’s just a new player seeking a new home, of course I’d invite him over to Kaineng, but this is a commander that has been playing in DB for so long, it’s two totally different case. xD

Hey if you play afternoons and nights, you could always come over to this here Far Shiverpeaks EU server. I play similar hours as you do (CST here though), and been having a good amount of fun since I came over. I was on Dragonbrand as well for a while, but just didn’t click with any guilds over there. Now I’ve joined Dynasty Warriors, and have become very involved in the server community especially in wvw.

Now you might be thinking “what the kitten? A EU server?!” true it may be a lot of European players, but you’ll be had pressed to find people speaking something other than English over here, and our guild alone stretches across globe with members in NA, Russia, Australia/New Zealand, South/Central America, and of course people from all over Europe. We also don’t tolerate anything other than English in guild chat.

If you’d like to know more check out our post here. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Dynasty-Warriors-recruiting-NA-Oceanic-WvWPvX/first#post1086654
And if you have any further questions feel free to ask me here, or in game.

I was an active WvWer on Dragonbrand up until the transfer about 2 months ago with Vengeance. We transfered due to a number of our players wanting to be in a more “active” group. When we jumped to Sanctum of Rall…we saw just that. A very strong active server with plenty of knowledgeable players who were constantly playing day after day. SoR reminds me of what Dragonbrand -could- have been had all the guilds chose to stay. We’re a NA primetime focused server, but because we’re so strong during this time we’ve managed to keep our place in Tier II.

Enough of the life story though. My point is that no matter what server you end up on you’ll have ups and downs, and I’m glad you’re deciding to stay on Dragonbrand. I remember following you around some maps from time to time, and you did know what you were doing. Keep pushing on and you’ll have a more active cohesive playerbase. Should you choose to join others on another side of the fence. I know VNG would always welcome you to join us on SoR. There are still plenty of players I enjoyed playing with there.

Glad you decided to stick around, Phuriok.

Forgetting about current design flaws with WvW, Dragonbrand is having a ton of exciting matches lately. I like where we’re at in the rankings.. lots of great servers to learn from and force us to step up our game. There have also been some recent transfers that had a noticeable, positive effect on our overall performance.

Being outmanned in NA primetime is actually rather enjoyable now that we’re accustomed to consolidating our forces and working together. We’re able to maintain control over DB borderland and our section of EB a majority of the time.
