So I don’t know if the rest of you have noticed how many people buy commander books and then just sit around in LA and never do anything.

I think that Commander books should cost badges of honour which would force the players who want them to actually take part in WvW.

The Commander tag should also only appear when a player is in WvW. Its pointless sitting in PvE and seeing 20 commanders just sitting around doing nothing.

I somewhat disagree with you.

I would be all for removing commander icons from Lion’s Arch but the icon works wonders in lesser known zones for getting people to rally to you for DEs.

I could see commanders in Orr getting groups together to capture the cathedrals. I’ve seen commanders running around in lowbie zones and wondered why. I guess you feel you need a mob on you to take down the swamp thing.

I think this would be a good idea. Right now you can only buy it with gold, and let’s face it,
you’re not getting 100 gold on WvW.
(unless you’re kitten lucky like a guildy of mine and loot dusk from a quaggan)
You need to farm PvE to get commander wich doesn’t really make sence.
I’m not saying it would be perfect. Considering jumping puzzle campers and all.
It would be a step in the right direction tho.
Ultimately commander should only be available after reaching a certain amount of WvW objectives.
Much like the different WvW achievements.
