221 hours over 1,581 days of bank space/hot pve/lion’s arch afk and some wvw.

The challenge…
Instead of complaining about your server match up, and expending energy to type out threads that get deleted, try building up your server to be competitive.
Yes, the devs need to work on wvw, but it’s the players responsibility to build up their own communities in-game. Don’t expect the devs to hold your hands on every matter.

that’s impossible most servers don’t buy guilds like mag bg and jq does that also being said there isn’t enough guild and people left to do so

It’s impossible for players to take charge… lead… inspire other players to get involved… teach people how to wvw… form guilds… ???
Real actual in-game conversation:
Player – Tag won’t allow people in squad.
Me – Buy a tag?
Player – I have a tag but not enough experience or trust me, I would!
Me – Not sure how you expect to gain experience then.

considering this has already happened in the pass and nowadays there is less and less players, guilds are disbanding and dying weekly and any new guild that is formed is mostly players from those dead guilds, not to mention so many players has lost faith in Anet in actually be capable of fixing anything.
People lose faith, People start caring less, Less caring is less pride, less pride mean people don’t take charge, without people in charge the things you said don’t happen as in grander scale
(The Lost Of Faith comes from promises and are always left unfilled)
In the long run it comes down to Anet ability to actually take charge of anything and make an honest “complete” attempt at anything rather then throwing 123 345 calling them attempts
1. Fixes bugs/glitches
2. Balancing skills/population
3. Add updates
Instead we get half kitten attempts or “Band-Aid” fixes, In Anet defense tho they hand a couple good Attempt most recent being Skirmishes and before DBL but they are so poorly attempt that they faile
I’ve watched four guilds die, at this point. Simply rallying the troops isn’t enough. Unless Anet manages to stabilize the game, the burden is too much for players to bear.
To extrapolate, one guild left because the combat system was not to their liking ([Vae]), another left partially due to server politics and partially due to low population ([WvW]). The third ([PIX]) just up and disappeared. No one there really ever got into WvW very much. They followed tags for a while, enjoyed it, then ran off to other games. Finally, ([BLUR]) was a scouting guild and largely dispersed due to population drops after HoT.
On a smaller level, I’ve led groups in those guilds that focused on havoc scouting and had lots of success…but that dried up once Alpine BL came back. There’s not really much room to maneuver on Alpine without a zerg. You’re constantly exposed and can’t really gain any time advantage through misdirection. Hills is especially onerous as there are so few places to hit it and all of them are at a lower/even elevation and in the open field. The yaks are also difficult to assassinate to both Hills/Bay because the path is so short and so close to spawn. Anyway, without getting sidetracked too much on an ABL rant, its return was the final nail in the coffin for everyone I was still playing with.
Add to that server situations that don’t foster new growth, the lacking/outdated WvW tutorials and the stark differences in how tags operate in PvE and WvW and it’s tough to get anyone to stick around these days.
I recognize that some of it’s up to us, but there’s only so much we can do.
Server linking has mostly killed all the decent communities. All that’s left is toxic bandwagon servers, and they’re not really a community at all. We’ve tried again and again to rebuild, only to have a bad link or a few weeks of ridiculous blowout matchups tear it all down each time.
There’s nothing the players can do about this. It’s all on Anet, but apparently locking threads is all the effort they’re willing to muster. A little PR could go a long way here, because the way things look right now, they’re intentionally driving players away.
Or even easier, just transfer to the large winning servers….
Let the game mode die already. Don’t expect players to fix a game mode that is fundamentally flawed.
Just a game…..

Pretty much this. If they link servers 3 times trying to build up a community, just to see it get whacked with a relink isn’t really good.
Alright, we’ll go to Lion’s Arch to recruit.
Oh wait….
I do agree, but in practice the current tools are limited.
I see signs that there are communities and server groups doing this now. Realize, every time a server blows up and people spread out, in theory the community gets larger. Course we all have different goals in mind so mileage varies. There have been people on my list coming back into the game after a long break. The point above about the WvW not having good tools to do recruiting is absolutely true.
All of this takes a ton of time and a lot of players I talk to don’t see a benefit to putting in the work. Many people have done this more than once, taken a ton of their personal time and effort into training people.
I don’t join guilds anymore. No great loss for them or me. I follow guilds around at times because roaming solo is boring, mostly. A group of five players can do a lot, and it’s fun. But I’ve seen several guilds implode. Some advertise that they’re PvE and WvW/PvP…but aren’t. They get together and talk and sometimes run. But guilds are dependent upon player participation, and usually one or two players…very transient attendance ruins most. But enough about guilds.
Servers…I want to play. I like winning when I play. If I play and we lose, it’s not as fun. I still like playing, but if It’s balanced, that’s really fun. So, if I’m a player and I want to win or at least have some balanced play, what do I do? Do I spend months and hours and lots of gold trying to build a guild only to have it die because the ten core players I have transfer out or quit or whatever, or do I spend some gold, transfer and VOILA….instant fun.
You pick the option most players choose. Hint: it’s not bust your bum building a guild.

I can’t remember the last guild mag bought. They just come to our server now.

lol, do you even log into wvw? there arent many people to “organize” and “build up”. those people left. what we have now are the primetime zerglings who only zerg for 3-4 hours then whichever server has bought offtime guilds to ghost cap and win the ppt game.

I would like for you to us some critical thinking and come up with a list of ways an individual can help get others involved in wvw.
people are either into wvw or they are not.
game has population or it does not.

game has population or it does not.
So what you’re saying is that you’re not able to come up with ways to get more people involved? You’re not capable of providing ideas to help players strengthen their server in any way?
