Concern With WvW
You can buy normal blueprints with Badges of Honor from the second tabs at siege vendors. So you can save yourself some gold there.
Upgrading objectives still cost silver/gold.
And if you want superior blueprints, that tends to cost a bit on TP, or if you have the materials etc, you can make them yourself in Mystic.
Also, if you want to run the very best foods and utilities, they cost a good bit.
But nope, you’re not getting rich playing WvW. But it depends a bit further upon what play-style you like. I like Roaming myself, and end up going a bit in plus, but nothing much, perhaps 50s-1G on a normal day.
“Understanding is a three edged sword: your side, their side, and the truth.”
“The objective is to win. The goal is to have fun.”
Heh, dont we all want to know why we have to spend gold in WvW.
The more points a server gains, the more buffs your server gets for PvE in gold from kills, gathering and crafting. Yet nothing from PvE goes to help WvW at all, it’s all one-sided.
I think one thing we can do is tax PvE. A small percentage of all gold earned by players to added to a server bank. Players on a server vote for certain guild leaders to be those who can withdraw from the bank. Or whenever someone starts an upgrade gold is used from the server bank first. This will also prevent direct theft from a server bank by guilds who are about to leave or trolls who manages to get themselves voted.
Also, be really careful upgrading towers and such. Depends on what server you’re on, but if there is a high turnover rate on towers and such, you’re just wasting supplies doing upgrades, when those supplies could go toward siege gear to defend those areas, instead.
You might make a habit of asking in map chat before you upgrade, as commanders will let you know whether it is needed or not.
One of the biggest mistakes players that are new to wvw make is just automatically upgrading a place before asking…….upgrades really drain the supplies, and lots of times they are not needed. Some people will even scream at ya for doing that. (Been there done that when I was a wvw noob)
Also, wvw is NOT pvp. It may seem like it at first, but wvw is a far different beast from standard pvp. Best of luck out there!
Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.
