Conditions vs Zergs
Condi builds are bad for zerg fights anyways. That said condi builds are overly dominate while roaming so they each have a place in WvW.
That said, Necros are very skill dependent, all of your number 1 skills are very sub par compared to other classes. If you are experiencing any skill lag your going to have a hard time.
Personally I would not recommend going full zerker in zergs, unless you are some ungodly player, you’re probably going to die a lot. I would suggest going for a knights/PVT/zerker mix. Also buy them with badges if you have them…
Zikory – Retired Thief
Zikkro – Zergling Necromancer
condi trains can be quite effective but not just 1-2 necros in the group.
get a train of 10 necros and 10 guardians and a few eles/wars in there and you can really wreck some kitten.
the enemy has condi cleanses but not unlimited.
the most effective condition attack I’ve seen, is when it’s in your primary attack – if you depend on a skill that has a long cooldown, then forget it – cleanses will wipe that – but if for every basic shot you stack a condition – that is very annoying and effective. it doesn’t take armor into consideration – so go ahead and clean – as long as someone is constantly stacking a condition on you with his basic attack – you won’t be able to keep up with healing / removing it …. – I use an earth sigil on my mesmer / greatsword – and it works great – combo of raw damage with high crits and a small condition that adds up and keeps stacking – especially when you have a heavy armor character down to his last points and tries running away fast to heal – he just eventually dies and you catch up and finish him off. even works great against retaliation if you have low raw damage output – you hit for low points but drain life.

Don’t fight zergs with condi? Signed.

But while you are trying to burn through their AoE condition cleanses, they are already killing you with direct-damage.
depends if part of those conditions are cripples – then you run circles / kiting around them while they drop like flies lol
Actually, I find AoE conditions to work well. The warrior LB has what.. 3 AoE conditions they can cast and each are great cast and forget types. If the Zerg is dumb enough to stand in the Condition field, or the Blast, they get dmg.
I find it works pretty well in getting me bags. Now ME actually STANDING STILL long enough to grab the bags is a different story.

if they don’t have a lot of guardians in their group theres no way they’re getting near a necro+guard train. lotsa guardians can hard-counter it though.

There are exactly a lot of guardians in WvW. :P

got me there.
Never ending cleanses from Guardians… Symbol + Whirl combo = Cleansing Bolts. Ele’s = Cleanses in water and on attune every 9 seconds if 30 arcane, Warrior cleansing shouts / cleansing ire / warhorn / massive healing and high regen. Now Mesmers also have AoE Condition cleanses with Mantra’s.
sPvP I can see how Conditions are great, cause you are not fighting 10 to 1 odds, ever. WvW that is a different story :’(
Pistol engineers with coated bullets seem to do quite well with conditions in a zerg, probably because we tag everyone. :p
