I find it hard to believe that current SF numbers are anything like what Kaineng had after the migration. TBH, I don’t think all 6 of the bottom servers added up together have those kind of numbers/coverage.
They have numbers I promise you, when they get there you will see. As you know last week we got a very good T2 guild and some other good guild transfers and ET got a T1 guild and some guild transfers and you know how much of a dent that made to SF? Well look at the numbers not much SF had Zergs on all maps just like Kain and DR. I’m telling you guys you are in for a suprise when they get there.

I can’t speak for all of SF, but I’m flattered you think we’re on par with Kaineng post-transfers! I, for one, will remain as humble of a commander of my people as possible and try not to let my head get all inflatey when we start kicking faces in and movin up.

Last time I checked, they are no longer in T8. And if my knowledge of calendars is correct, they got out before today. So, yes, they got out on their own merits.
DR got out only because ET dropped down. Kaineng got out only because they ate all of ET’s rating when they dropped down. The only way SF could have gotten out was if a T7 server dropped down or if they received an enormous amount of transfers, which wasn’t going to happen so Anet had to do something. And they did.

T7 was not balanced. 80k difference between 1st and 3rd? Only T3 had a larger difference…
That’s a direct result of last weekend’s free transfers. Look back at the 2 months previous.
Sure, but what this means is that whatever claims you had to having a ‘balanced matchup’ went out the window when the window for free transfers opened. So did our claim to being able to crawl up in ratings points week after week.

Personally I don’t understand why we cant just have a system where whomever is third at the end of the week goes down a tier and whomever is first goes up a tier. Stagnant match-ups aren’t really fun for anyone (IMO).
I am keeping an open mind about the current T8 match and must admit that I had fun on this first server reset night. The groups we encountered were considerably larger than I was expecting and in fact a little larger than I prefer, but much better than finding none. We shall see how the week proceeds.

Honestly, I can’t thank you enough for making this change. The fight in T7 is crazy close, and this is the closest I’ve seen T8 in months. Whatever change was made, seems about right. Keep up the good work Devon, you are awesome!

May I suggest that in addition to adding points to T8 servers you also take equal number of points away from T1 servers. Because currently ossification is also happening there as well simply because the point difference between them and T2 is so high.

am all for a total ratings reset, now that you’ve let people transfer all over the place for free. reset it all and let the tiers adjust themselves accordingly, while you figure out how to fix the bad math problem.

We are winning T7 by 30k points after reset and the weekend (last I checked this morning).
Looks like SF is proving we were ready and worth the ratings “fix”. Good work SF, let’s keep on keeping on.

No. At least not at 1:13p.m. EDT. Look at the numbers Devon just posted and compare with the rating column on millenium. Shouldn’t be too hard for millenium to adjust as the only scores that should be affected are for SF, ET and FC. Then again, I have no idea how millenium’s system is coded.

My guess is the guy running mos.millenium just tweaked it manually to get it to appear properly until ANet posted the ratings, I sent the ratings to the contact email, so hopefully it gets updated here soon and we can see the projected ratings change for this week

Do not mess with T1 and T2. No one in these tiers are crying about their matches. The matches are fine. None of the T2 servers can compete with T1 and we are happy where we are.

On topic: Can’t wait to find some new people to fight. That’s what this is all about, putting 3 servers with the same numbers so that zerg of 100 doesn’t attack 1 tower would be nice.
Rating wise T7 was extremely balanced, every week was not the same, first wasn’t guaranteed to anyone.

kitten happened, and we’re over it. Despite it being kind of a jerk move on ANet’s part to drop us without warning, the greater good was served and everyone seems to be happy with the new matches. I’m still optimistic about getting a GoM/AR rematch again someday, Nuzt. It’s just going to take a lot longer to get there now. :/
I’m sure you guys are over it, however, what’s to stop Anet from pulling this kind of kitten with no notice in regards to whatever the hell they feel like. Its more the fact that they have so little respect for the WvW community that they couldn’t even be decent enough to give notice.
Its a complete lack of respect for their players, it not what they did, its how they did it.
In my opinion , narrowing down the numbers of the servers and try to combine them together might solve the wvw pop for the T8-T5 servers , besides there are alot of high pop servers that doesnt have that much of wvw presence , but thats my opinion
