Confused about T2
Time makes matchups grow stale. People leave all the time and the faces of the servers change. What was once fresh with the YB/BG/JQ matchup has turned into the routine staleness of a months long fight.
By “rotating” TC back into t1, they hope to bring in new faces and new people to change the scene and freshen it up.
Matchfixing pure and simple. They do this to preserve their tier and systematically destroy ours. This is why so many people are calling it the kittenter alliance.

This is pretty funny if it’s the actual line of reasoning they’re following. Move the same servers/guilds/players around and hope the matchups become more fun at some point.
So I was around when Onslaught and TW decided to take YB to t1. I kinda got the motive then. Seemed like a combination of spite and curiosity.
Right now I’m just confused. What is the reason for taking TC back to t1 after working so hard to kick them out in the first place?

He and whatever alliance they could come up with would’ve been irrelevant during the prime of WvW. Back then they had real alliances like “The Titan and The Ascension”. Back then they had real strong guilds. Whatever guilds remains probably don’t have their best players still in them. Unless these long lost guilds are players return, GW2 WvW is pretty much dead. Thanks to the Desert Borderlands by ANet and the match fixing attempts by recycled leftover players/guilds that isn’t coordinated to spread out players evenly, their attempts will be just another failed attempt and it’ll just be a rinse, repeat, rinse, repeat cycle…
They had no interest in spreading out when they came to YB, they weren’t when going to TC. If some of TC hadn’t moved to db and others gone to db as well, just who would they be fightIng? They love to spout what good they did, but that is spin……

They are just bored. Plain simple: boredom.
They are even willing to accept the role of “villains”, just to spice up things a bit. It’s not just one player, but at least two leaders. It’s not the first time, already was done with YB… and that adventure led to a far less fun T1 than the one before, and an obliterated T2. But the intention was “noble”; creating multiple T1 servers, so there will be competition (which means FUN) at top… that plan failed, it’s not possible without ArenaNet support. Lessons learned? Yes and no. They know that it’s not possible, but also that trying (and creating chaos), is more fun, for a while at least, than not doing anything.
I’m really not defending them (I moved to DB to fight them), but also can’t accuse them: because this game became so stale, while at the same time both abandoned & ruined by the devs with their multiple failed attempts… that even pure craziness like these “locust movements, to destroy whatever left” seems justified… or not quite, but logical, expectable. What else these two leaders (or more) and their followers could do? Other than stop playing or just play the same mindless-stale-maddening (go on, describe in your mind) what WvW became.
Any action that attempts to create 4 servers fighting for a place in a three place tier causes massive problems for the servers caught up in the tier below. I’ve been on the receiving end of this sort of thing and after six months of being stomped (facing a 600+ tick was common) a lot of players and guilds “took a break” or transferred out due to frustration.
This loss of players widens the gap between these servers and the tier above, which increases the problem of stale match ups (or lack of competition when facing lower servers) so the problem becomes self sustaining.
Even the introduction of the Desert Borderlands caused less damage.
If people want a real change from the same T1 matches they could transfer down into different servers in the Bronze tiers. Not one server, several different ones… This would help balance out the populations and if they go to a variety of servers they will have more chance of getting variety in their match ups.
Of course, things are a little different down here where every individual player counts and a group of 5 players is a force to be reckoned with… It’s not for the faint hearted: you need to be a sort of self sufficient roaming tanky zerker who can support whoever else is on.
What else these two leaders (or more) and their followers could do? Other than stop playing or just play the same mindless-stale-maddening (go on, describe in your mind) what WvW became.
I think that if they’re this bored with the game that they should just quit. Or at least accept that they can’t make it fun like it used to be by just scattering the pieces around.
They asked themselves: “I wonder what a t1 YB would play like?”
The answer: pretty much just like t2 YB played except with more people and better coverage.
The turmoil they’ve created in t2 has ruined genuinely fun matches. T2 was still in the process of stabilizing and now it’s turning into a mess again. If they get TC back into t1 then that means someone has to come down and they will probably dominate for a time. I think it’s highly likely that once Onslaught and TW get what they want from TC that they will once again hop servers.
It’s like they’re addicts forever chasing the high that they used to get from WvW.
Matchfixing pure and simple. They do this to preserve their tier and systematically destroy ours. This is why so many people are calling it the kittenter alliance.
No, that’s a fundamental misunderstanding of what’s going on. Match fixing would be if the same group dominated all 3 servers and allowed one of them to claim keeps and otherwise earn PPT. Instead, the so-called “Kittener Alliance” moved their stacks from one server (YB) to another (TC) in an attempt to shake up T2 (and T1, by accident).
It’s not matchfixing just because we might distrust the motivations and dislike the egotism of the organizers.
T2 was still in the process of stabilizing and now it’s turning into a mess again.

They aren’t interested in stable, balanced matchups. They are interested in moving to a server where they can control server politics and nuthug their blobs. If they really cared about even matchups they would have spread evenly instead of stacking the already dominant tier 2 server. But they don’t.

I am on FA and it’s a mess. DB looks to be having a rough time of it too.
We didn’t want them. Things were fine as they were. T1 just wants to not be fighting against the YB monster they created.
TC was fun with a big casual WvW scene and just big enough for action with no queues. Now it’s got queues everywhere 24/7.
All the servers in T2 are being played like T1 and it’s this exact manipulation ideology which has made for stale matchups and mass transfers leading people away from WvW to begin with.
TC has always had the numbers/capacity to push to T1 but strictly speaking was pretty content with T2 seeing as the fights with its opposing servers (before FA’s collapse) were very fair with close matchups by the end of the week. It made WvW fun.

Who cares the reason? All that matters is that people on all 3 servers are playing again, and that makes it fun.
when tc drags db (JQ nor YB will stay) up to t1 and db implodes, they will have bg to fight on the weekends and doors during the week…… congrats well played…..

Correct. Further, the sole reason I came to TC over other servers several months ago was because it wasn’t the BS of T1. I’d sooner drop down to T4 or below.

TC isn’t going to drag DB any where they don’t want to go. DB has said multiple times, they have no interest in being T1. This group of guilds that transfered to TC wrecked T1 with their play style, got bored and decided to repeat their actions and because they are bored again. I wonder how long it is going to take before these people figure out that they are the reason noone wants to be in t1. DB has had fights like we Are having right now since t4. NSP and HoD, had good fights, mag, CD, and SBI had good fights, and we had plenty of good fights in T2 before they came with TC and FA. DB doesn’t care about going to t1 they are just interested in screwing up the kittenters plans of moving TC to T1.
@bearded – point is someone has to be 3. I personally (I only ever speak for myself and not a guild or server) don’t think it will be JQ or YB. Time will tell of course.
DB can’t screw our plans of entering Tier 1, if we really don’t have solid plans to begin with. Considering everyone on TC is happy to constantly fighting DB in Tier 2 anyway. If our alliance screws up tiers by playing in them, then keeping us in Tier 2 is counter productive anyway.
Furthermore Jade Quarry is dying, and they’re falling down quicker than anyone is pushing up. Both DB and TC will have near equal chances to go between both tiers if both server stay neck and neck. DB’s whole idea or belief as to why my alliance and myself is down in Tier 2 once again, is very misguided and wrong.
This move was in preparation for us to play together on a server we wanted to be on. To wait for Arena Net to change WvW. The goal to push to tier 1 is a progressive easy goal that’s just there to give us motivation to play harder and have fun while doing it. It was a goal that was already being talked about on Tarnished Coast and one that we liked to reinvigorate our interest.
The rebellion or counter alliance aims at making our game experience not fun or enjoyable and they aim at stopping our plans. However, our plans are finalized and you’re giving us the time of our lives.
We don’t mind if we are villainized, it seemingly gives communities goals and a greater will to fight. That’s all we can ask for from our counter parts and that’s what you’ve provided us with. A means of breaking up the staleness and giving us a reason to fight hard once again.
I do not try, to “run” servers or have a monopoly over a tier(s). The only thing I do, is look out for my guild and my friends at this time. OnS’s movement was based off OnS’s health and is different than the goals of the alliance. Each guild within the Mad Court has the right to do what’s best for their own guilds.

I’m sure the Empire’s master plan was to just stack TC, dominate T2, and bring them back up to T1 while booting JQ or BG. That was the “supposed plan” in the first place, get a rotation of servers for T1/2, and they thought they were big enough and good enough to do that for servers.
Last time the Empire did this YB went along for the ride for the most part, and SoS and FA brought out their white handkerchiefs and waved goodbye to YB until they got their kittens out of T2. They rode them to the top of T1 and now didn’t have much to do but fall back on the old plan. TC looked like they were going to get a good deal out of the merge plan, because T8 into T1 servers isn’t going to provide much.
Instead this time the rebel alliance has sprung up to try and stop the dominance in T2 while it’s early. Only problem with that is, either way the Empire and the Emperor are laughing their kittens off because they are getting action anyways and it’s better for them to have opposition willing to come after them. They’re probably getting enough fun out of this that they wouldn’t need to worry about pushing TC up.

Why did we move?
To create some chaos, create change, enjoy different fights, to challenge ourselves, to have a mission or goal or something to work towards. We moved for the better opportunities to recruit. We moved because we didn’t know what to expect with the upcoming WvW changes and so we wanted the alliance to be together due to the uncertainty. There are lots of reasons we moved and all of them made us think that it was far better to move than to sit around getting more and more bored with the game.
And now we aren’t bored, what we did worked better than expected. We have a force actively pushing against us and the fighting is amazing. We are having more fun in the game than we have in a long long time.

I find that hard to believe as it seems a very easy win. I don’t think anyone is trying to keep you in t2 as much as people just want to show you that they don’t like what you’re doing. You keep hijacking servers to make the game more fun for you and your friends. Do you not see how selfish that seems? It would be nice to stop you and your alliance dead in your tracks but I don’t know if there are enough guilds left that can really do that.
This move was in preparation for us to play together on a server we wanted to be on.
But why Tarnished Coast? Why pick the server you previously worked so hard to push out of t1? Why not just spread out amongst the remaining t1 servers or stack BG and/or JQ to bring down YB? Why go back to t2 and ruin things again?

They just lack the strength to really shut you down. On reset night we were able, with DB’s help, to keep TC relatively contained for several hours but it wasn’t sustainable. If FA and DB could consistently keep all your stuff capped and your keeps waypointed and keep your people spawn camped 24/7 I think a lot of the members of your alliance would lose interest. But I don’t think it will happen and I don’t think you think it will either.

Whether you try to or not you do seem to run things. People look to you for guidance. You may not want to acknowledge this but you’re the face of this alliance.
All players and by extension guilds have the right to move to whatever server they want but I think when you have an alliance like this you have a lot of power and when you have that kind of power people will hold you to a higher ethical standard. I think that right now you’re failing to live up that ethical standard and that’s why you’re being “villainized.” But I guess that’s not an issue for you if no one has the power to really stop you.

I did not work so hard to push Tarnished Coast out. I even went there on alt accounts prior because I liked the server. When TC fell out of Tier 1, they chose to not care if they did or didn’t. I was the one trying to convince them otherwise. It turns out them falling out of the tier might just have benefited all of us.

Really? You guys seem to have coverage for all the timezones and I’ve noticed TC picking up a lot of points during EU. Even with DB and FA in a sort of truce you’re still winning. It seems like it would take some serious measures taken by both FA and DB to have a chance of stopping you. Is that what you’re hoping for?

Yeah the fights were alright but after a night of trying to fend off one of the biggest blobs I’ve ever seen we were only able to keep TC contained for a couple hours before we didn’t have the people for it anymore. We didn’t have the power to take all of TCs stuff and then spawn camp. So the most we’ve been able to do is sort of stop TC for a few hours. Oh and last night we managed to help flip a t3 SMC. Not such a great resistance in my opinion.

From the salt forum the vote as to whether to accept the alliance or not was 10-9 in favour, so it was hardly open arms. I would guess that the guilds that left were in the 9 votes that voted against. Plus the votes in favour included guilds like kazo who had just moved and are seemingly part of the kittenters alliance.

I excuse Kazo for the most part as they were originally from TC and were playing on the server for a few weeks before the mass transfers in. The others, though, shouldn’t have had a say in the matter.
TC didn’t need help winning. We largely wanted to stay in T2 away from the cesspool that T1 is and keep a casual/fun approach to WvW.
If you seriously think this “alliance” is carrying TC, you’re a fool. I took this screenshot over a month ago when everyone decided to actually PPT that week due to trash talk by DB. You’ll notice TORK and BP both in the screenshot as proof this was some time ago.
Sad truth is the T1 transfers/stackers are just fun-suckers who killed our tier because they recognize now that they screwed themselves over by forcing YB to T1 despite the repeated warnings in the past that it would hurt T1 and the rest of WvW.

Don’t try to frighten us with your sorcerer’s ways, MaLeVoLenT.
If the empire had even a slight bit of interest in looking for challenging but fair fights they would have chosen another server like for instance FA which is the weakest of the T2 servers. Or hell you should have jump down to SoS or Mag and push them up and watch the kittens hit the T2 fan when you manage to do so.
If you were welcomed with open arms why did 4 guilds move to a direct enemy server in response to you? 4 guilds mind you is enough to wreck a lot of the smaller servers right now.
You moved 5 guilds to try and stack a server to dominate T2 again, with those 4 guilds still on TC I’m sure it would have been an easy win. You all were bored and wanted to mess something up again because people are tired of siegebend. You’re right in that guilds do what they must to keep their members interested and happy, but you don’t need to drag half a server along with you every kitten time.

As someone who’s been on Yaks Bend since beta I’d like to say that by no means every WvW regular was on board with being hijacked and shoved into T1. Plenty of people expressed concern about it but the consensus was that there wasn’t a whole lot we could do about it so, yes, we would indeed have to go along for the ride whether we liked it or not.
Naturally most people would have been curious to get to T1 just to see what it was like and to say we’d been there, but there wasn’t even a huge server-wide enthusiasm for going to T2 when that happened and I doubt many people on YB were expecting kitten be a lot better.
After three and a half years of WvW on YB I would say by far the most enjoyable period, and the one most people probably remember most fondly apart from the Seasons, was when we were in a six-way in T3/T4, servers going up and down every week and wild cards flying around in all directions. I’d happily see us drop two or three tiers again if it meant we could get back to that degree of volatility and unpredictability.
If it was up to me there would never have been server transfers of any kind. Not at all. Never. You want to play on another server? Buy another account and level up. What happened to YB and is now happening to TC is emblematic of the problem, not of any kind of solution. Without server loyalty WvW is meaningless. Megaservers crippled server loyalty and now cross-server guild alliances are finishing it off.
