Interesting, we usually have trains instead, quite the opposite of breaking loose. Well a few people branched out, but the commands were repeated in map chat and I assume on server-TS too (I wasn’t on it, but a lot of people are, usually) and I think most players understand that they profit the easiest way this way.

I was honestly wondering the other night how long it would be before wvw becomes little more than a pit stop for champ farming with different scenery, and how long it might be before people actually trying to play the game are flamed. A couple nights ago I received angry whispers from a roaming group for messing up their camp flips.
Lol like i said before WvW is like AB on factions just with walls and siege to counter those barriers, that behavior confirms it, since game is all about cap castles as if they are shrines.
Capping shrines faster makes server loose less ppt, so it makes sense what happened.
I really tough game would envolve.

Yes, its happening on a lot of servers, 3 server trains following each another around with orders not to attack each another so we all can flip sm, keeps as efficiently as possible…
No upgrading of anything allowed or guild claiming…
No one cares less about the matchups/fighting each another…just want ascended weapons as easy as possible…
Well, I just returned a short while ago after being offline for 9 months after Ascended trinkets were introduced, but this is sort of helpful, since as a WvW-focussed player I can now finally come to closure with this game.

WvW was already in the dustbin but this addition to the game has put the lid on that dustbin and thrown it on the tip.

At least AB battles only lasted about 20 minutes with a winner at the end when it became a game of shrine speed capping or mobbing, and the 4v4s were always fun. Even a well-oiled golem train plowing through paper structures is fairly slow and terribly boring, and if you dare to break off the group, you risk missing out on the rewards. Bring an alt like say, an upscaled mes to help speed it up if there are not enough portals, and you get bakittens and WXP on a character you don’t care about.
Gets old and not worth it fighting the game more than the players at some point.

I’m not sure that commander was worth following. I usually follow orders, but if they’re particularly silly I go my own way. So what really happened here is your zerg obeyed a silly order.

why the hell would they not want to kill each other and why the hell do ppls follow pve commanders?
if you see a zerg you wipe it if your outmanned but not outgunned you find the perfect location to wipe em.

This is exactly what I feared whould happen when they added benefits that outweigh actually killing people to structures. Its Warhammer Online karma/gravy train all over again, where people would just join the train flip keeps for maximum benefit.
I had hoped the developers would have seen the fail and added more benefits to player lootbags, so you get a reason to actually kill players in roaming/defence/attack.
Take a page from DAOC how Realmpoints are given and add measures to stop kill trading. (Enemy dead within last 1-5 minutes lesser rewards if any) or something I am sure the developers can think up a smart solution.
Came back after a 2 or 3 month break. No defense, no upgrade no nothing. If someone gives intel about an attack the answer was: " Leave it alone, we’ll take it back in a few minutes".
Conclusion … People rather fight doors and npc’s than real people.
Conclusion2 … my server sucks as much as all the others.
Conclusion3 … I’m a f…ing noob who doesn’t get the game.
After an hour running with the masses I’m back on solo roaming trying to get som fights.

Oh please, everyone saw it coming. It’s been known since day 1 that Arena Net will cater to the casuals because they are the lifeblood of WvW.

Right now is also at the end of the match-up where many matches have long been decided. I know my server karma trained yesterday because we were in 3rd place with no hope of finishing higher so we made the best of it and flipped keeps back and forth. I know once the next matchup starts the commanders that led this will be playing for real again(hopefully against different servers).
Also seems like after the initial rush there will be more than enough mats to be gained playing normally. I am not too worried at this point.
If they are in WvW to farm ascended stuff they are doing it wrong, it is A LOT faster to do it in PvE. And if u just do PvD in WvW it’s exactly that, PvE with less rewards.
This isn’t really something new though.
We had a commander that tried doing this back when WXP was released as well. So I highly doubt it is tied directly to Ascended stuff.

Yep, a perfect case of be careful what you ask for.
A few well placed arrow carts and some like-minded defenders can really throw a wrench into any back room deals.
Sadly the fix to all this was sort of obvious. PvE players get ascended weapons by farming PvE content. WvW should have been badges and karma. Could have slowed down the build rate by putting a long timer on the building of said items in WvW. Instead we have to farm keeps/castles (grind) and craft (grind) just to get items that will allow us to keep up with the Jones’.

Was wondering how quickly this would happen. With the amount of unbalanced match ups now shouldn’t be surprising to see servers switch to farm mode coming out the weekend of the match up. I’m sure a lot of pvp players just want to get the ascended weapon and get gearing over with, again. And yes pve champ farming is a lot better and faster, but some people just want to stick to pvp.

Probably a lot of these players don’t even have the right maps discovered in PvE to farm well. People just want to get this Ascended gear out of the way so that they can resume playing the game.

Yes, but you can’t farm WXP in PvE. Though the ascended rewards pale in comparison, the WXP income is quite good. So you’re kinda hitting 2 birds with one stone. Well 1 and a half birds
