Considering a world transfer, seeking advice
Try anvil rock. We hit rock bottom about 3 months ago, and are finally organized and shooting up the ranks fast. We are working our way back up from the bottom. All of a sudden we have gotten our act together with massive server teamspeak zergs, and great skilled, organized wvw guilds. A conservative estimate is that we will be contenting with HoD, DH, and FC for the top spot in bronze league. However if we keep smashing our opponents like we have been the last few weeks, and keep up the momentum, we may find ourselves back in tier 5 against ehmry bay like we were months ago.
We are most definitely a night crew server. During the primetime we are able to at least match our opponents, if not slightly surpass them, but at night (around 3:00 AM EST) we are still fielding 60 man coordinated teamspeak zergs, plus all of the pugs. 2 nights ago at 4:00 AM there were still about 50 people on teamspeak.
Basically what you will find here is a very fun, coordinated community who loves to stay up late and make the enemy servers wake up to 50ppt. Community morale has never been higher, and we have begun a snowball effect as we rapidly grow more and more coordinated and stronger. Oh and not to mention we have the best roamers of ANY server. This is based on the fact that we are the highest ranked pvp server overall.
Attached you will find a typical night lately. The servers we are currently against cannot keep up with our night crew whatsoever.

The previous screenshot was our last matchup. This is the score of our current matchup. The next matchup will be against FC and DH, and we are hoping it will be the same story.

Considering the time zone in which you play, to be honest, any T1 or T2 server would accommodate your needs.Once you hit T3, night coverage drops off pretty dramatically. Even in T1, during that time of day, you have no queues on any borderlands and a minimal, if any, queue in EBG.
If you truly want a decent number of people to play with in that time, try looking at EU servers.

Fort Aspenwood is a tier 2 server that could cater to all 3 play styles you like, and we have many guilds that play in your time zone.
If you are looking for a strong stable server then I highly recommend you check us out.

He said 10pm UTC….which is 5pm EST or 2pm PST… so he’s looking for NA…..not EU…

EU prime (evening) is 6pm UTC till 11pm UTC afterwards you have EU-night.
Top 10 servers have queue on most borderlands from 6pm UTC till 9-10pm UTC. Afterwards WvW empties and night-shifts (20-100 people per server in EU-top10) take over (~11pm UTC till 5pm UTC when the morning shift join in.).
There are only 3 english-speaking servers in EU-top10: SFR, Piken, Deso. The rest is french (3 server), german (3 server) or spanish (1 server) speaking.

how the hell do you know what your next matchup will be?
FA might be a good fit. They run pretty heavy at that time and are not mega populated so finding good roaming fights is still possible. BP is light at the start of your play but we always have a presence and finding roaming fights on this server is cake. We also have a lot of former NSP players. This really depends on how far up you want to go since each tier brings considerably more players to the party for better and worse.

Northern Shiverpeaks is lucky enough to have talented guilds that are good at roaming, small group, and zerging. I’d get in touch with them, save yourself the transfer fee.
Edit: tM is always recruiting all sorts of bums so maybe check with them! I’ve seen videos of them doin 5-10 but also roamin stuffs too.

Currently on Northern Shiverpeaks. I have been considering the move for a while now and was hoping I could get some suggestions.
I’m not leaving simply because I want to be carried by a better/more populated server. I’m really just bored by how low the WvW population is. There is a server-wide zerg every afternoon, which typically only lasts for 1-2 hours before dispersing. There is very little night coverage (10:00 pm – 3:00 am UTC), which is when I am most active. I feel the general population of NSP is not very interested in WvW. The weekend after season 1, for example, the maps were nearly barren.
I want a good mix of solo-roaming, small team battles, and zergs, as I enjoy all 3 types of play, So I want a server that caters to all 3 of these.
I have a mid to low range quality PC and middling connection, so preferably a medium sized population to minimize latency while still having lots of activity.
I am a fairly casual player so I want to be part of a fun guild with a good sense of humor, but I also enjoy being part of a competent, organized group.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
Yeah, WvW has sucked for roaming this week. I’m on DB, and I find the maps so barren. I prefer to be playing against YB, PB, or even FA since I know there are at least people to find. NSP was a kitten barren waste land when I was looking for 1vX’s.

I suggest a T3 server and up. Fights are everywhere, quite fun
@Ganking
The way you describe Anvil Rock definitely makes it sound appealing. Can you tell me more about the guild scene on that server? Also, are there active commanders on TS? I find following a commander much more efficient when they are able to give voice orders.
@Reverence @Artimes
I have reservations about EU servers mainly because I fear the latency would be much more severe. It is an interesting thought though.
@Styx
I certainly agree, and I have sought out these guilds. Unfortunately it feels like there is only so much action one can get during the hours I’m active. Perhaps it is more than just a server issue, but it often feels like the maps are barren of both NSP and opponents during those hours.

We have several extremely experienced commanders constantly on teamspeak. A few are giving voice commands to only their guild, but many stay in the general channel and command the public zerg.
The commands are precise. Each skill use and movement is called, and we try to play as organized as possible. Sometimes the commander will even divide his zerg into parties of different classes in order to micromanage them while in combat.
The guild scene is a very tight knit one. For the most part, all of the main guilds are friends. We all work together, and although many of us have our own voip, we all get on the same teamspeak and coordinate with each other. There are 3-5 guilds who consistently run 10-30 man tight, advanced groups especially at night time.
One of these guilds is my own, TFH (The Fluttering Horde). We love wreaking havok by ourselves in enemy bl, taking keeps, holding them, etc.
Another great guild is ASAP (Anvil Secret Army of Protector) which is a new but fast growing wvw guild lead by a commander who transferred from IOJ.
WAR, and WARMerc are two more related large guilds which also generally run on their own in EB. They are also very coordinated, and highly compatible with the public teamspeak zerg.
There is also Zero, which is in the process of transferring back to Anvil from Blackgate, and is heavily recruiting. They are an organized wvw guild as well.
You’d definitely have a lot of choices when it comes to wvw guilds.
