Does anyone else find it strange that this note was so vague when many others in the same, larger post were so detailed?

I disagree. I’m not sure what your definition of “common knowledge” is, but unless there’s an explicit tool tip or a special sPvP letter than comes in the mail or something, I don’t think it’s fair to assume that damage scaling in structured PvP is common knowledge in the community.

all you have to do is type /wiki confusion and you get all the information you need…
