Most people that come to CD are content. We try to provide a decent non-bickering environment where people’s opinions are taken into consideration.

But don’t tell that to our enemies. Most enemies hate us and figure us to be the Yankees of WvW. I take it as a compliment and a testament to our hard and competitive player base.

It’s evident on every reset, no matter who we go up against, we win the reset night. WE need to push hard an win the weeknights too and become the Death Star!

you are most welcome to Crystal Desert. in fact we welcome any new addition to the server. of course, you might want to send your scout to here 1st before you make the final decision. the other servers of course they would say their server is better bla bla, but we would like you to experience it for yourself…..

We would be happy to set up a meeting for you to talk with our guild leaders about CD’s values and intents. Also, we hold weekly flash parades and are very friendly! Just ask TC

If you’re concerned about being able to get your whole guild in, I’m sure we could schedule a mass log-out which would allow your guild to join CD (since the server fullness is actually read by number of people logged in at one time). With the right organization, which we can provide, it should be a relatively painless process.

CD received recently mass European players base transfert and is looking for more (NA/oceanic), we are doing pretty well, 3weeks wins in a row (last week by 100k+points with second) and every guilds are working together. FA are a bit machiavelic and they managed to use any trick to beat us but seems always they fail ^^. So yes CD is great place to tranfer to before the closing free transfert if your guild is looking for ubber fun and victorious rushes on our opponents. :p

Whatever World we end up transferring to this thread has shown how interesting the fight in T3 is. I look forward to fighting with and against everybody!

Thanks for all the posts and feedback guys. I’ve had a chance of collecting a few good contacts – and even had a chat with CD leaders. If anyone else can send me a pm of more community leaders/commanders from Fort Aspenwood and Dragonbrand – I’d really appreciate it.

These chats with the server leaders / commanders is really important in getting a feeling for the servers and ultimately to our decision.

We will be deciding this very soon – this weekend (probably tomorrow) after we’ve had a chance to talk to a few people from each server.

Honestly just wait until this week is over and DON’T go with the server that is winning. Actually go with the server that loses this week in T3.

I say this at a time when FA is winning, so I’m not being biased.

Just be aware that the losing server is likely going to drop to t4 for at least a round, due to MAG surging right now.

edit: You’d have welcome arms if you came over to FA though.

I’m with this guy. The WvW score in T3 is very close among all the servers, and it’s very possible that CD or FA could get knocked into 3rd place, or that DB stays in 3rd. And judging from the battles I’ve been having with DB and FA in WvW, they are VERY good servers to fight against or fight with. Regardless of who loses, know that if you choose them, you’re choosing a server who does an amazing job in WvW, and any and all 3 of us will welcome you with open arms.

After facing CD in many battles, my overall impression of them is that they were a tight community, with many respectable players who fought hard and believed in good sportsmanship. After Yak’s Bend, CD are my favourite players.

The response is going to be biased if it comes from anyone in our tier, whether it be FA talking us down to recruit you, or us trying to recruit you.

I will say though, that even though we have forum warriors who have obviously rubbed off bad on some players, every other server does aswell, and they are most definitely the minority. Having been on CD since day one, I can easily say the community has just gotten better and better, and it shows in how well we work together in WvW, and how we interact with eachother on a regular basis outside of that.

Crystal Desert is an amazing server, full of great people that would all welcome you with open arms.

CD is a great server. As out ex home one of the best social server with excellent guilds that do WvW.

The fact is, and the forums will evidence, there was very little scrap talking about CD until we beat FA and IoJ for weeks in a row.

erm actually IOJ contacted FA and we are very happy with our new transfers, as all are working together and are friendly and fun.

Long story short…how is the CD community? Would a decent size (250-350) guild be welcomed to join them before the lockout (yes, I know its not really a lock, but you know what I mean)?

The guilds on my current server seems to splitting left and right…most moving to T1/T2 servers, especially SoS, JQ, and SoR…which are always full. I fear we won’t be able to get everyone in before the lockout. So trying to squeeze people in there might be a challenge (potential seriously damaging the guild)…and tbh, something about joining the FoTM server seems off putting. Not to mention the issue with possible queue times.

That leads me to picking a good “up-and-coming” server, with potential to be decent in T2 and potential rise to T1 in the future (I don’t care for an easy win or being on the best server, I love a good fight and decent challenge). A server that isn’t always full and could use the help to push it further into ranks. Is Crystal Desert that server?

CD seems to be doing very well in T3 right now…and I wonder if bringing my guild there would be a good or bad choice.

Thoughts? What about Fort Aspenwood and Dragonbrand?

UPDATE: Please send me some community leader names…I’d like to talk to people from the servers I am looking into (CD/FA/DB) as this is an important decision that I want to get right.

Oh my, please excuse the long list of rude un-sporty CD players on acting like salesmen on your thread. CD, from an enemy’s perspective has been a challenging zerg force in WvW to a point until recently when FA received a stronger night crew and now we are wiping them at night in mostly all match-up borderlands.

“Some” guilds, I grant you are well coordinated by CD but sadly most others are just mindless. For example, today (like many other days) we finished recapturing SMC and a bunch of CD; if not most of their numbers came outside to tickle us. Not only did they mindlessly gather in a bunch, but a small force of our Fort Aspenwood’s 2-5 players were able to completely wipe 20+ CD zerg-fest from what it appeared to feel as if CD literally gave up; oh and just as in an add-on bonus – CD is currently in 3rd place with twice a lower score than DB in our WvW tier round as of this post.

TC and CD are desperate for new-comers as their zergs cannot do much, if not any strategy at all without the well coordinated ones that appear to be transferring to other servers before Guesting is released. Dragonbrand has become a formidable new enemy and I give them grand kudos for their beginning effort this week. If you are looking to merge into a server, I would suggest planning out certain goals not only based on population, but also on tactical communication. Fort Aspenwood focuses on quality and that is why many servers appreciate the matches we have with each other, because we play fair and square. Though our enemies might lie through their teeth otherwise.

BG has been known to be a server full of server hoppers; If you are into non committed night crews. Therefore instead of preaching the local memo to you, like many of my enemies above me have done so to force you to commit to one, try us in Fort Jennifer, try Dragon Brand, or even Yaks Bend (which wasn’t mentioned in your original post)! Try ANY one of these QUALITY servers and see if we truly interest you & your community!

PS: Feel free to do a background check within our server’s 25+ guilds & compare/contrast your notes to see whether or not “we aren’t as sporty” as our enemies lie out to the public.

FA, you got nine guilds, and easilly out number us. Don’t be stupid enough to ask for even more. This is really annoying me seeing a server that wants more and more and more and more and more people. Never happy?

Nono, let them. When they make it to T2, they’ll get beaten down most likely and thrown back to us. It might cause another mass server exodus as well ( kitten guilds that can’t stay on a single server) for all we know.

I would second Tarnished Coast as a server of choice for any guilds considering transferring. My friend Theon laid out a wonderful argument for why TC is a great place to call home.

I will address the only other issue people have raised on this thread, the fact that TC is always full.

I would direct you to this thread. All the TC guilds are organizing Server Blackouts to help open slots for new guilds to join. We have already successfully been opening slots for new guilds transferring in and will be doing them daily up until free transfers end. The thread I posted above will be continually updated with the times of these blackouts.

FA member here, just here to let you know that we accept anyone willing to join and we try our best to make you all feel welcome, and we have a very active WvW presence which is growing every day. It’s quite a friendly community in game, but my advice is to give it a try, since forums are horrible places to get an idea of what servers are all about. And if it’s not what you expected we understand if it’s not your thing and decide to go with another server. Our recent transfers are apparently very happy to be here and I’m sure you would be too.

Nah my confused little one; nobody trashes on CD. The FACT is -
1. CD trashes on the community to everyone they are competing against on the forums. So much for “jealousy” where there is none to be had.
2. Mindless zerg drones just give everyone else more badges to collect. Purely unstructured if I may say after fighting you guys for weeks.
3. Priority que on bl is your excuse? Please! Our day and night crews destroy your gains, and even more psychologically attack you to the point where your zergs run away from 1 party or less attacking you.

You can keep on preaching it to new-comers, but the fact still remains. If you want other servers to merge with you, tell your buddies to lay off the hate chat on the forums or else nobody will trust your word.

I mean why else would you be so all over CD. Dude, you merged with another server just to beat us, and are finally doing it, let it go.

It’s going to suck be be in top tier servers with all the people jumping ship there. Queues are going to be awful

That last couple weeks have been a breeze. I’m glad for the competative week with FA and DB! This is posing a challenge to all three servers, and all three will learn so much from it.

While I love the community of CD, I can’t speak for the other servers. I have a feeling all three will be competative for a long time to come though. From what I’ve heard, I also get the feeling you’ll be in good hands on any of the three servers you listed.

I think they already decided against CD, the OP has another thread going asking whether FA or Mag will be in Tier 2, so I would assume they are going for one of those two.

When I saw his name on the other thread, I was wondering why I thought I’ve seen it before. Now I know, lol.

That would be funny if he bases his decision on whether FA or Mag would win in a fight. Then again, he did state he wanted a server that would get them back to T2.

Crystal Desert is my server. Ive been here since the 3day head start & I havent been on any others. My one friend spent a long time trying to get on. Our population has been FULL pretty much from the start. Sadly, such a large guild as yours might find themselves waiting a long time to actually have everyone successfully come through.

For any and all who are interested: CD has scheduled black-out periods in an attempt to allow large guilds to transfer over.
