Culling and Thieves
Ancient Thief culling abuse secret:
1) Find zerg
2) B-Venom
3) Stealth-Heal
4) Shadowstep into zerg
5) Find Target – Wait for stealth to end
6) MugSteal+C&D+BackStab+Haste+Kill+HasteStomp+SpamLootKey
7) ShadowReturn
8) Shadow refuge
9) Kaiser soze
Target can be 2100 units away and they will never see you if the zerg is big enough.
Fix culling and the Thief probably can’t even haste stomp and will die from one knockback/knockdown.

Rendering with thieves is pretty lame. Other night a thief got off an entire dagger storm before he actually rendered. However, this can happen with pretty much any profession, thieves are just more problematic due to being able to initiate from stealth.
>Complaint coming from a thief player.
Thanks for the replies. I thought that it was probably the culling issue rather than thieves needing a nerf. Its just really annoying.
I roam alot as an elementalist, and quite often meet our favorite game type: Backstab thieves! However, while I do get killed from time to time, I think I’ve gotten a quite good ratio of killing them. (sadly most dissapear and run away with this 10% hp & cloak trait or whatever it is)
But this is what I do. I’m a staff using elementalist, because I enjoy playing more with it & I can solo camps easier with them then d/d. Fighting thieves with d/d is probably easier though. Back to the point, the first thing that happens is a massive spike of about 8k dmg (yes really it’s never alot more) from steal + C&D. At this point I’ve actually build up a reflex to press C (custom for lightning flash) and teleport away. Immediety switch to water, and dodging for health. At this point I usualy have around 60-70% hp left. Use frozen ground and ice speak beneath myself. More experienced thieves either run or choose to hide longer at this point. After this it’ll be easy, the thief is frozen for a nice while and even if he does manage to get it off, he’ll have taken so much damage (you keep AoE’ing, obviously) that he will be able to kill you unless you screw up royally.
I think in the end the most important step is to get away immedietly at the start of the chain. Most beginner thieves think they got you, even if you teleport away (since your around 50% hp or lower), which is for the better because you can destroy them easiely after. Good luck all
This obviously does not fix Stiv’s tactic but if the thief can’t do his chain, the culling won’t help him
