The so called “culling issue” (aka. the non-rendering of enemy players) is still affecting Thieves when they leave Stealth.

I have been killed by invisible Thieves and, based on how people (don’t) react when I attack them, I too have killed people while invisible.

This really isn’t helping the general reputation of Thieves and is pretty detrimental to WvW battles.

It’s not just Thieves but yes, it’s half of why people moan about Thieves in WvW. ‘OMG invisible 90% of the fight’. Most of them don’t know you can’t re-stealth for 3.3 seconds after un-stealthing. Rendering bug makes it appear you can just stealth and stealth.

I play a thief but not a stealth orientated one, this effects everyone.

thieves kind of get it in the neck as we are a fairly powerful class at the moment and have the tools that take advantage of the technical issues “culling”.

There isn’t much the thieves can do about it. As i’ve said before I don’t run a d/d stealth backstab spec. I generally run in a group and there are normally 10-20 of us taking on larger numbers of 40+ we are on the bad end of culling a lot, we’ve had to adapt and it has really paid off. simple steps like stopping and backing off to let people load in or using aoe and damage numbers to sight your opponents works well. Stealth thieves emerging to hit you also have an audio cue which you can use to dodge by.

Its not ideal but its not thieves its just the culling issue.

It’s not just one class. Sometimes i see one person out there and so i go attack him. Well then i realize that 15 more pop up and I’m dead b/c they didn’t render yet.

True, now that you mention it I do recall a few situations where it took a good few moments before an entire enemy zerg was rendered in front of me.

It affects every class, however the issue is most noticable with thieves.

Not only can a thief instant teleport to you and cause 11,000 damage from steal and then immediately do another 10,000 damage with cloak and dagger, but he can also attack while completely stealth due to this culling issue right after those attacks take place IF you survive them. This makes the thief completely broken.

My thief is now level 50. I hope my thief doesn’t get nerfed before i can reclaim on my investment.

Was in WvW over the weekend, friend called out ‘Theif on me!’

I turn round to see him at 30 percent health (he’s on a ranger) and nothing. He’s taking damage from an invisible foe and all i can do is leap over to him and try and hack in the general vicinity.

It’s complete bs.
