Q:

What’s the max time for immobilize stack time, vs what it will be after patch?

Because right now it feels like permanent when you have 3 warriors on you.

Agreed. All it takes is running from a bunch of enemies that can do this to you, and for you to be hit by the attack from all of them. This has happened to me while doing world completion in Eternal (I was bored) with my thief. I’ll stealth to drop the immobilize, the second I get out of it there are 2 more stacks right there. This has gotten me killed numerous times. Whoever thought it was a good idea needs to be slapped. Like chaining knockdowns, this is OP, and the change to stacking never needed to be there to begin with, immobilize was fine with how it was originally.

Hey, I keep on me 3 condition cleanses. Stealth from Steal, Blinding Powder, and Roll for Initiative. I popped one, came out and got a bunch of stacks of immobilize in under 3 seconds. Immediately popped Roll for initiative, got them again, and threw down Blinding Powder, coming out with it again. I got at least a 12 second immobilize on all of them. I wouldn’t have minded it if it was 3-5 seconds, as that’s enough time for me to get wrecked but still get out alive. But 12+ seconds? That’s OP. And I’m lucky considering if I tried on my Ranger, I’d be dead even faster. This immobilize spam needs to end, or we need to start getting immunity to immobilize in return. There’s nothing fun about this, in WvW, or PvE (where I encountered it on my Ranger in CoF path 2, with those kitten devourers).

Why do people write things when they obviously do not wvw more then once per week?

Let me see here….. In about 6 fights since the patch I came across 4 who pretty much perma immobilized me. If you shadow step then instantly shadow refuge you really are making no difference what so ever.

You are still immobilized and easy to hit. Stealth does nothing when you cannot move, but make sure you get hit more often because they know where you pretty much are. Same with any stealth skill. You still are in that one spot.

During one of my fights the guardian ran off, and I sill sat there for far too long not being able to move. Maybe 8-10 seconds after the fight was over before I could move.

Now in reality. If you do not know how to fight a thief you need to uninstall. I knew how to handle perma stealth thieves with both my own (non perma stealth) thief and mesmer. But then. I actually wvw.

“Only” stack 3 times now. Yeah… no. It needs to stack 0 times. Immobilize stacking is one of the worst changes.

Well, either way, its no better letting duration refresh either (like perma burning/poison)

The thief would have to be on the outskirts of the shadow refuge dodging in, otherwise they’d dodge out of it and lose the stealth.

You can choose where to place it so you don’t need to place it right in the middle you. Instead you could put yourself on the edge of it so I don’t really see how space matters when it’s a huge circle.

You can quite often simply dps the thief though. For example, warrior whirlwind attack alone is often enough to 1 hit a thief. It’s your own fault if you play zero damage pvt clown though. Bunkers aren’t supposed to be able to chase thieves.

Seriously though a Thief auto wins against any zerker build through Cloak and Dagger->Steal->Backstab->Heartseeker->Heartseeker->Heartseeker->Heartseeker->Heartseeker->Heartseeker. If it didn’t work Shadowstep 1200 range in the opposite direction and use Shadow Refuge. Explain counter especially when it got buffed this patch.

Yeh, the fore mentioned Thief in your example just failed to get a kill and had to waste two high cooldowns utility skills to run away.

Now that you proved that Thiefs are good at running, could you write an example where the warrior actually dies?

60 second cooldown for a guaranteed escape that no other class can do is a waste huh. Again this is only assuming the Thief didn’t get the kill when there’s almost 100% chance he did get it. Warrior escape is only possible by wasting a whole weapon slot for a greatsword when most people complain about hambow do they not? Hambow has 0 mobility unless you can’t catch someone Earthshaking away. Greatsword is not even a guaranteed escape like those two utility skills that every single Thief somehow manages to use and “waste”. If the greatsword Warrior is a tank build you can easily ignore him since he does 0 damage its a troll build and zerker will still die to a Thief easily if any zerker greatsword Warriors even exist in WvW. Thief on the other hand can go full zerker and never die while easily killing other zerker builds or harrasing groups or soloing camps or dolyaks.
