Current reward system
While there is another thread going on where there has been discussions regarding the current reward system, I think the subject definitely deserves it’s own thread, where people can voice their opinions and thoughts regarding the matter.
Do you for example find it fair that there’s no decrease in terms of rewards if you run with 70 people, compared to a 5man group?
It’s not fair for the 5man group, but it’s fair for the 70 zerg.
So, since 70 happy is better than 5 unhappy nothing will change.
And just for the records, i’m one of the unhappies.
I should pick my wording more carefully it seems :p
Anyway, seeing as Anet is unable to deal with skill-lag, certainly something needs to be done to prevent or at least decrease the main cause of it, by not actually encouraging it, like they are doing now.
First we have to determine what Anet’s stance on zerging vs roaming is. It is entirely possible that Anet is content with the current situation where most people zerg.
As Daendur says, having 70 happy players (who zerg) is better than having 5 happy players (who roam), so, if the numbers really look as 70 vs 5, that’s a big reason for Anet to not do anything. This does ignore long-term perspectives (not sure zerg gameplay can keep a player interested for long), but long-term perspectives are always so difficult to reason about, so…
WXP implementation, imo, was the biggest missed opportunity that ANET has blundered since release.
Not only would it have made game play more interesting and challenging, it would have split up the zerg and greatly diminished skill lag issues. Instead we have massive zergs that do more PvDoor than anything else, wee.
