For those of you wanting off from the higher pop servers, it’s currently free to transfer to medium pop servers NA or EU.

Worth mentioning as I’ve not seen anything from Anet about it and a lot of the mid tier EU servers are only medium pop.

…and unusually, Piken Square, currently ranked 2 in EU, possibly 1st next reset, is free to transfer too ? Huh ?

Any chance we could look at an option to determine server population for WvW only so people aren’t misled into joining a server filled with carebears – which PS EU is not, it’s one of the best for WvW and free to join. I don’t get it…

Yes seems to be free transfer to medium population worlds, 800 gems to high. At the moment no NA servers are listed as medium but a whole bunch like EBay and borlis are high – don’t know if they ever drop to medium.

I just was suprised not to see SFR to be at medium pop. Are they still med pop off hours? Didn’t follow pop status past weeks. That would make me chuckle.

Edit: For EU those who are interested. List is sorted by predicted rankings taken from mmos.millenium status 13:50 GMT+2 and i added their population status.

Its safe to say that Piken will be the winner of these transfers.

Indeed and the likes of Piken Square, with their high WvW focused guilds, could do very well out of it if they got some guilds form NA and SEA transferring over for free before leagues start.

Although it’s also worth pointing out that Piken Square have multiple hour long queues on every WvW map during EU primetime – it’s multiple times worse than T1 NA servers during any timeslot (apart from SoR and JQ which have long queues – BG have no queues other than reset night and even then maybe a max of 20 minutes).

We have more room now after a russian guild on SFR recruited the largest russian guild from our server.

I hope this is something in between a bug a mistake and a joke…

This does nothing to help the server’s that actually need help, the lowest ranked server’s in NA are all considered very high/high because of over all population.

Can’t say I’m shocked by this, although I am extremely dissapointed in the complete ignorance towards struggling WvW populations.
