DH bow #5 ruins wvw small group players
DH Bow 5 is commonly called as “DH kitten ”. It freaking invisible wall. If you can not see it, you can not avoid it. Stupid, buggy, annoying, etc etc
When you have 10 DH all spam 5 on one group – no one can move. It needs a nerf.

yea this is main problem with that skill. more than half the time you don’t see the little fences and if you stun break out of one you run into the next invisible fence..
I call it the “time out circle.”
I don’t think I hate it quite as much as the OP appears to but it absolutely is an annoying skill. If it weren’t invisible 90% of the time it wouldn’t be as bad but more often than not you can’t see it at all. You just suddenly get knocked down, try to move again thinking it might have been something else, then get knocked down again and realize you’re in the trap.
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
The skill can remain as-is for all I care, just make sure the graphics show up for them. That way I know when the barrier’s are up, when they’re down, so I don’t keep running into them, get knocked back/down, having all my skills go on cooldown, and end up getting killed as a result.
Often I get trapped, I have to guess if the barrier’s still up or not. I start casting my heal or whatever it is I want to cast, then start running, and bam I’m knocked down, my skills go on cooldown, and I end up dying. Frigging annoying.
I was told if you turn off effect LOD I can see them, but who in the world runs with effect LOD off? The particle effects are excessive when you disable effect LOD, creating whole new issues with visibility.
Just fix it so we can see when the arrows come down better, and if we’re trapped, make sure the trap circle show up around us so we know exactly who’s trapped and who isn’t, and when the trap goes down.
I can’t even tell what is hitting me 100% of the time when it comes to guards, lame graphics and kinda pathetic this hasn’t been fixed being this is their big expansion. Don’t they test this stuff? It seems rather basic in nature…..spells showing up on screen and pretty unicorn colors.
Whenever I get hit with DH longbow 5 it always reminds me of the days of culling, I hope they fix this soon, but since devs don’t even play WvW I wont hold my breath.
You do know that when 5 of 1 class is in a group it becomes op right? Not just dragon hunters

That is awesome. +87 for that gem. You have made my day, ty.
Edit: Yet another reason to laugh for no apparent reason while I’m at work or home or ballgames or anywhere I hear “time out”…

all I could say was, “…fell…foot…”

Prison CC should never have been put in the game. The only way out of it is with a teleport or stability… many builds have neither and some classes have very little access to either.
At the very least the ability should always be seen. I would add it should only knock a player down once then not effect them again.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
a Moving improved Guardains Hallowed Ground would solve that problem or some Auramancers Using Earth properly.
but i’d mainly vote for a Better hallowed ground or ( one not so out of date no Guardain uses it anymore) , to help recover from DH5 fast pulsing x5 Stability(3seconds) on a Medium cooldown of 50seconds.
You simply cannot see the PUNY fences, there is no proper big red AOE effect either; well, least not on my receiving end.
There needs to be a distinguishable signal once it hits the ground indicating that it’s a threat.
Right now it’s invisible as all hell and a kitten to get out of, if you can escape AT ALL after your stacks have basically been extinguished seeing as it knocks you down multiple times along with everything else in the background being flung at you.
It should have a visual ring effect similar to Guardian’s “Ring of Fire”.
Even in large scale fights, including all that CC and aoe, its a problem if you’re running squishy or have little access to stability
Plays completely opposite professions to his main Teef.
Really any small roaming group should have good enough players to avoid being hit by this. The rings go down at the end, if you can’t see the gaurd casting it by then you need to rethink your life as a small teams roamer mores than my cat that wants to be an astronaut.

what happens when a teef uses sr on his 4 DH buddies and one of them (only 1!!) uses feel my wrath? hmm?

What I don’t understand is why you cannot dodge roll out of it. You can dodge through a static field, or across a line of warding, but this thing doesn’t let you dodge out of it.

If it’s a thief and 4 DH you should rofl
Kite them off point then smash them and dance on their kittens. If you didn’t even see them coming pay more attention. At some point they were in your scope

why are you talking about pvp.

Umm ok?
Wvw is a pvp setting.
‘Points’ are also a focus of wvw.
Forts? Camps? Controls? Sm? See the shiny circle?
I really think this needed to go unsaid.
Anyone else notice teleporting out of this ability often knocks you down when the teleport ends. This thing is just too buggy and game breaking to exist.

Hey, I have been playing WvW a long time. I have over 109k WvW kills, and I still play, mostly for the big fights, but I still roam sometimes.
I believe DH Bow #5 is stupidly overpowered in WvW. I’m not sure what changes would make it less broken, but maybe limit the amount of stab it can remove. (If you run through 1 ring, it removes 1 or 2 stacks and then doesn’t remove more for each subsequent ring you run through), or maybe make it an immobilize.

are you kidding me.
in wvw you can entirely ignore objective based goals.
i thought it didnt need to be said that this could easily be a cc party in a larger coordinated group, but youve obviously proven me wrong by displaying your extensive knowledge of spvp.

Yeah let’s see how much your server loves you when you blatantly ignore the only reason to wvw. @above lmao
uhhh
tell that to the numerous guilds on every server that look for fights every day and dont give a kitten about ppt?

Still doesn’t change the fact that a focus point is a part of any fight, real life or drawn with a red circle.

Ah you’re one of those. So that entirely justifies you. Yep. Sure thing. I won’t argue with a I’m so leet fight guild perp, I know how big your ego is.
Still doesn’t change the fact that a focus point is a part of any fight, whether it’s drawn so a perp like you can see it or not. This applies to real life as well in real combat. I rest my case, goodbye young one.
no, i am not one of those. i am a solo roamer, but i have the presence of mind to actually think a little about how others could abuse things. unlike you, it seems.

Not really sure what this argument is really about but the circles are important in wvw, no matter what you fight for. If you go the cool “But I don’t care about PPT” route you can start looking for a new server as yours will lose ranks and you’ll be then fighting against empty servers. Not only that but my server works together to get a T3 SM – for that you also need to fight on point and stay in the circle – you can chose not to do that but that won’t help you one bit.
I’m cool with guilds only looking for fights but even for them objectives are important as the most fights are around objectives. So, no matter how you turn it and how cool “you” are for not caring about PPT – without PPT no wvw.
The red circles are a very valid point as well. Without them it is impossible to tell if the attack (when a player can actually see it) is friendly or not. I don’t think melee attacks such as cleave should red circle but long range non-targeted attacks should.

pot, meet kettle? seems a bit rich coming from a guy who spends all his time combing the forums for opportunities where he can tell someone to L2P, even if it’s outside the game mode he plays
Anet still do nothing with this problem :/
1 Dragonhunter can CCing way too many ppl (theoredically unlimited)
Pls do something Anet
Just another the the many imbalances plaguing the game. Stab vs CCs, Resistance vs Condi , Specialization vs Core . I’ve never been one to jump on the Meta band wagon but when armor becomes pointless ,having condition removal pointless ,having stability pointless ,running core class pointless that’s not Meta ;that’s just messed up.I was under the impression that the new content was to augment the existing classes by giving more choice to builds, Not turn them into specialization gods.Heart of Thorns really isn’t that hard to warrant the over powered specialization traits and skills being address through out these forums.Unfortunately I regret even shelling out the $100 for Heart of Thorns and the amount of Gems I purchased because I enjoyed the originally Guild Wars 2. I guess shame on me for trusting that things would get better with every update and balance change.
DH longbow 5 lockdown field strips too many stability stacks when you cross its threshold. Its like it triggers 3 times for one crossing. It also has no red circles. That may be the big problem with it.
DH LB5 needs a much clearer visual tell at least.
Currently it has no red circle when casting, the fences are hard to see after they drop.
