Questions in title…but i’m talking about in big groups…I remember when the game was fairly fresh there were WvW groups ogin on all the time.. now I see none. Any explination for this?

Namely around the Jade Quarry server.

Today is reset day, most people won’t be playing until reset comes in a couple of hours. But if you’re on JQ, yes there are tons of WvW activity. Today is just a bad day to judge.

Generally Thursday nights and Friday before reset time have the lowest WvW activities. People tend to rest up for Friday evening reset. You’ll see tons of WvW activities starting from Friday reset, throughout weekends, and last usually until Tuesday or Wednesday.

Login in 2 hours. The weekly winner is determined Friday night usually. Your server has the biggest zerg for the longest period of time and so has been winning the last 2 weeks as a result.

There will be a queue a mile long for a couple hours then it will taper off. I’m on Blackgate, we don’t have the numbers any more (I’ve heard it’s since a lot of us left for JQ) and our people log off as your zergs grow stronger as it gets later (EST here).

Still, there are usually good big long fights on reset. Sometimes there are during the week as well, seems to be semi-random with preference to the evening hours obviously. There are good fights to be had (big groups vs big groups), but the lag makes a lot of people quit and give up and they’ve lowered the map queues as well.

You also might be (not) seeing guild groups that don’t tag up. A lot of WvW focused guilds choose not to use a commander tag, as they prefer to only lead their guild members around. And as others have said, from Thursday to Friday at reset, WvW tends to lull on all servers.

I usually always see 1-2 large guilds running around on FA. Mostly bouncing between a couple maps . As someone has pointed out above, it is WvW reset night so you aren’t going to see a lot of activity until reset actually happens. For the most part, you will see a lot of newbie commanders taking charge and trying to learn the basics.

Hi Easy. On JQ myself. WvW most every day.

There is a lack of participation in some guilds right now due to people taking breaks before xpac, and as others have commented many of our bigger guilds are running tagless. Our absolute numbers are high on JQ but our pugmanding is in something of a lull. It’s actually pretty kitten the mid sized and smaller guilds that depend on pugs to bulk their numbers up, people are so used to not seeing any tags on the map they just log out or do something else.

You’re in a rough spot right now between xpac induced player breaks and the fact a lot of our large guilds aren’t actively recruiting because either they are at the size they want to be or it just seems like there’s no one to recruit. I will PM you a suggestion to check out, I don’t know if it will be the right one but it can’t hurt to have more info.

Answer: Three years of nothing but neglect from anet.

But dont worry, as soon as HoT is released with the new WvW map, WvW should hopefully become a bit more active for a while.
