DR in WvW
Yep, it is quite ridiculous they have implemented the DR system in WvW as well. Apparently if you play in the same map for more than 15 minutes you are “doing it wrong” and should go “explore”.
I can attest to this as I get less and less bags over time from killing other players and it drops off to be completely non existent towards the end of my ~2 hour sessions.
I have never run into Karma DR here but the loot bag DR from players is very real.

Karma DR is very real. Was getting less than half of what I would be getting without DR. It was insane. 340 for someone without DR, around 70 for those of us who had been doing it for awhile.
The DR system is pretty heavy handed all over. Since this is about WvW, I’ll keep my complaints about it in PvE (which I care about more) for PvE threads.
For me, this makes the already low appeal of WvW lower. To get into EB (unless we’re getting sacked badly by the opposition) I’ve typically had 1-2hr+ que times (yes, that’s a plus meaning waiting over 2hrs). Compared to whatever else I’m doing, WvW already rewards very low. I really don’t appreciate that if I can get a team that’s actually getting things done (a feat!), within short order the (already low) rewards are reduced.
So yes, please reduce or remove the DR in WvW.
I do at least understand why glory isn’t reduced; Its rewards are more of a pat on the back for having fun than something that actually makes you perform better.
I can’t confirm or prove wrong this claim with hard facts about DR in WvW, but I do believe something is going on. I played quite a bit of WvW before launch and shortly after but stopped playing till recently to complete my Personal Story and World Completion. I recently went into WvW on Sunday and something seemed wrong. Earlier when I had played WvW it seemed like I got a bag of loot for most of my player kills, which was nice since the rewards would come in bursts and it made up a bit for the fact that it is annoying to try and make sure you pick them up before moving to your next objective or if the battle turns for the worse. Now though, it seems that I get bags less often when getting player kills and the loot isn’t very good. Again to make up for not getting loot constantly like in PvE and for much higher repair costs in comparison the loot in WvW before seemed to be properly set at pretty good and above the average gained to its PvE equivalents. Now though it is about the same which is an issue.
I really appreciate ArenaNet is working hard to fight the botting issue in GW2, but I strongly urge them to take a look at the DR systems and loot tables and try and find other solutions to the problem (which I’m guessing your already doing). Part of the fun experience of the game is torn away when you are or it seems you’re no longer rewarded in a way that seems fitting for your skill and time invested in the game and when you feel constrained by some unknown set of code that limits what and how long you can enjoy an aspect of the game before you’ll get punished for doing so.
Everyone, this is a complex issue which involves many different things. As you can probably guess there likely won’t be any easy fix. Keep on posting your problems and offer up some ideas on solutions to help ArenaNet. Offering up some encouragement would be awesome too!

We were on the receiving end of this and to be honest I’m glad there are diminishing returns against this.
There were about 25 of you just capping supplies and running. Not defending what you just took, not pushing other targets. Non-stop camp after camp after camp.
You did this so much you hit the DR.
Calls were going out to keep recapping what you took to keep you guys busy taking pointless targets and karma farming while we were pushing your towers and keep.
It worked, you got karma – we got the map. It must have been frustrating for others on your team to have so many tied up in capping camps in the north while we pushed you out of the south.
Defending those camps wouldn’t have made their DR go away
We defended a few, and we cut off supply. By the time you took our area, we had already finished for the night. We also helped defend our towers, and took out a few trebs along the way.
It is not karma farming, it is disrupting your supplies and forcing you to recap your points. We are a small group and we don’t like to zerg. So we did what we could, taking supply camps across the map. And if we pushed a tower, we would have been overrun in a minute or less. We would be hard-pressed to break into the tower in very little time. Especially a fully upgraded tower.
So you think we deserve DR because what? You couldn’t stop us? We were consistently doing the same thing, and you guys failed to try to stop us, and failed utterly in keeping us away. So why should we be punished because you didn’t try to stop us? We were doing something highly effective, you failed to stop it, and you want us to be punished? Very logical.
