Hey,
I have played dagger+dagger elementalist just after release and i enjoyed it. I tried play other classes, but no other class offered so much fun, so much tactics and movement. I had old pc back at the days, and now after upgrading it i decided to give another chance. So am interested how good is dagger+dagger elementalist in WvW or just class itself.
Then i have played d/d elementalist it was fun but didnt had any specific role in pve/pvp (arena) becouse of nerfs it has. Whats the situation today?

D/D is excellent for roaming and in havoc groups. However, in the “zerg” style game play you should be using a staff with blasting staff traited.

It takes a lot more skill to play dagger/dagger in WvW than it currently does in pvp. People have more balanced stats and they aren’t forced to fight on a tiny point. If you are good you will have a lot of fun with it, just remember to slot fgs for when you need to run from a zerg or chase someone down.

I completely disagree with that statement. In wvw normally is 10 times easier to fight a player because the skill lvl of the average wvw pug is terrible compared with the average player you fight in ranked queue.
WvW also makes your celestial build stronger because you can get the extra 250 power from bloodlust + 100power/condi from stacks +250 vit +-40% condi duration. Also d/d ele is one of the most mobile classes if you slot fgs and lightning flash, that makes you outrun almost everyone.

Meh, ranked arena is more about bunkering down and holding the point while you wait for someone to rotate. I’ve found duelists in WvW to be way more dangerous because they build for 1v1’s.
Of course this depends heavily on the server and tier.

You can zerg as DnD in high sustain builds providing fields and blasts.
You will need to however change all your utilities to cantrip
But the staff ele is still far more useful in GvGs and proper ZvZergs fights than DnD.
Remember one thing though. As a DnD Ele, you possess the power of an avatar and can bend all 4 attunements to your will. Bring harmony and balance to your world.
Ele is a good choice which fits in the current wvw meta (GWEN)=guard+war+ele+necro.
DnD is good for solo and small roaming where staff is good for big zergfights. for small zergfights (lets say 30 max) you can pick both DnD and staff. Due to the low health pool in combination with low armor the DnD will lose effectivity the more aoes there are and the heavier the spikes become, since it will lose some dps in search for extra surviveability and safespots.
However fairly useless in blobfights, the high dps in combination with very high party wide protection uptime and finishing potential of mistform+aoe the DnD ele should definitely not be underestimated in zergfights. for builds etc i’d suggest to take a look at the elementalist forum there are alot of builds for WvW over there.
