Daily WvWvW Map Reset Nightly?
I played a random no-name korean mass-pvp mmo (RF Online) where the maps were reset 3 times a day, every 8 hours to accommodate the different prime times (NA, EU and Asia). That probably wouldn’t work for GW2 but shortening the matchups down from a week would improve things imo.
When you log into a weekly WvWvW and see your server down by 20-50k it’s rather demoralizing and a lot of people just go about there business and find something more productive to do.
In Tier 1, SoR, we satisfy ourselves in the knowledge that the only reason our enemies have higher PPT than us is because of their ultra stacked servers. Then find high moral, and much glee in the fact that in the open field, we wipe our enemy in almost every single engagement. So much so that the frustrating part of the game has become the enemy servers holding up and hiding in their tower/keeps, refusing to fight. Oh well.
Having bad PPT does not mean you have to be bad fighters. Roll those scrubs!

I truly don’t understand why anet doesn’t get this. Week long matches horrible in this game.
I’m lucky if I log in twice a week now.
@anet.. we realize you can’t change the mechanics of WvW, but you can easily change the map reset time to sometime much more reasonable. Give it a go, what’s the worst that could happen?

Daily resets would benefit the servers who are most populated in the 3-4 hrs after that reset. The rest of the match is played in hardened structures.
If you actually wanted to make things more even as well as less boring, consider resetting the match 6-8 times a day.
We had daily wvw resets at launch. It was boring, and it didn’t reflect a server’s true strengths at all.
Commander on Blackgate
Daily resets not going to fix anything. Only way to balance game is to apply some math into the equations. Example: Server A has 10 people, Server B has 5 people, Server C has 20 people… 20 is max and highest, so Server A people gets a multiplier of 2. Each of their player has the equivalent strength of 2 so they can take on the zerg. Server B with 5 will get a multiplier of 4 and therefore their players will feel like superman. Only way to rid zergs and make matches equal. Otherwise, this game continues to rely on who has the bigger zerg and at what timeframe. I would love the idea of me being x100 to solo an entire 100 invaders zerg.

I can’t say I pay much attention to Tier 1 but here are the current scores after ~2.5 days
Blackgate – 69 817
Jade Quarry – 62 165
Sanctum of Rall – 80 660
My guess is, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place won’t change by the end of the week.
BUT
My point for daily resets is not about the rankings, is it demoralizing to log in when you are down 50K sure but that is just a number, the real kick in the kitten is when you log in, the other team owns everything, with fully upgraded keeps (waypoints) etc.
Now you have to fight that uphill battle, for me it isn’t fun. For others, I suspect it isn’t fun either given the attitude and lack of players.

Thats what I think they should do. Also combine both NA and EU servers to allow for more 24/7 coverage for each server…
Or, while we’re constructing great ideas, how about just one massive server, in which people get forced to play in one of three teams during a weeks match.
But to be serious I’d rather see an improvement of the weekly tier system, than go to daily or even 1/3 daily matches.
A 2-3 hour fight, which can be loads of fun atm, just wouldn’t be worth the time anymore (which it often already isn’t). Upgrades would have to cost less and finish faster to be worth it. And I don’t think Anet is after a lower penyasink, as their current course seems to towards more money spent in W3.

Sounds good cause on my days off I want to play some EU guilds. Especially RG or roll with them. Too bad servers would implode because they already can’t handle the current wvw state.
