If we cannot get a mandatory port on dead, can we get damage on dead players? Being able to res a player under heavy fire because the dead player takes no damage is a warped mechanic. I frequently observe stealthed thieves bringing up their dead allies because over time they can keep adding to a dead players health pool and enemy players have no way of reducing dead players HP. This is particularly frustrating after keep flips where D/P thieves can bring up anyone with a little patience.

Yep. If you can breath life into a corpse stands to reason beating it senseless would remove it.

Pretty much sums up this game, I routinely have to kill people 3-4 times to actually kill them because of all the rallies they get off of bad friendlies who like to suicide. Then, ya know, a zerg comes to rez them and there’s nothing you can do about it because their blob is too good at the game.

Pretty much sums up this game, I routinely have to kill people 3-4 times to actually kill them because of all the rallies they get off of bad friendlies who like to suicide. Then, ya know, a zerg comes to rez them and there’s nothing you can do about it because their blob is too good at the game.

I think most skill players would appreciate the removal of rally from killing something and the removal of resurrecting dead players in and out of combat. Rally on death certainly creates a significant amount of animosity towards less experienced allies.

This would certainly solve some issues. But the fact a zerg can still quickly mass rez a memser through a gate is an issue.

Pretty hard for a couple of defenders to get 20+ ppl in combat…

Its a step in the right direction though.

All it would take is to only allow players to rally if an enemy they were attacking is stomped by an ally. No rallies because somebody died to mindless 1 spam, no rallies because a random deer decided to jump into the fight and dies instantly. As for defeated players, they should be treated the same as sPvP, they have a short timer after which they automatically respawn.

All it would take is to only allow players to rally if an enemy they were attacking is stomped by an ally.

This would be better but it wouldn’t solve the fundamental unwelcome attitude that skilled players have towards lessor skilled allies. Currently lessor skilled players are usually rally bots and while this change would improve that situation it would still exist and they would remain unwelcome.

Anyway I am taking this OT. I stand by my original point that players should not be able to get un-damageable health back when dead.

That would be awesome, drag them around, toss them off cliffs, stack them up under a keep lord.

Side note, there should bean accelerated timers on full dead that forces re-spawn in the least.

Well, lava keep doing damage to dead players, so there is a mechanic in the game that allow dead bodies to be damaged (Which problably would just need a tweak to make player skills do damage to dead bodies too).

However I see a problem on that: The dead person would count towards AoE cap. So even if you kill someone, you still have that target sucking damage that should be dealt to another player.

Still saving ranks to get AC #4. It’s not that cheap nor on the priority list. But, it is still a good suggestion though!

Yes, corpses should be moveable, beatable, and damageable. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a single person rezz a dead player while under constant AC fire. Even on a RP front, the capacity to do so just seems wrong.

The AC reveal is worthless… 2s is pointless. As for a Stealth Trap, A skilled D/P thief will barely be slowed down. Sure they will be revealed for 30s but kitten , some dodging and HS to stay out range will allow them stealth back up again in short order. I can easily stay away from another player even several for 30s on my D/D Thief. Much easier when standing in Black Powder from a D/P.

The situation is made much worse given how easily a thief CnDs off walls, gates, siege, NPCs, etc.

Why not just ask a couple people to watch the body for a little while, till he/she spawns out. All it takes is some AoE.

Okay, rolling all of the suggestions together, how about this:

When you die the camera is straight above you looking down and can’t be moved. You can’t use anything in your inventory, so no armor swapping or balloons or anything.

You ARE still a part of the AoE cap (good catch Jeknar), so your armor can still be damaged. Assign an arbitrary amount of health to the armor pieces and let them be damaged and ultimately broken. When they’re all broken, automatic return to spawn in your britches. Also, you can be knocked around.

AC’s have never stopped a zerg from rezzing someone. At least not in my experience. :P

Why not use the sPvP- system for dead bodies? Implement a 12sec time after death accured and force respawn. It wouldn’t be a problem to take that system from sPvP and use it for WvW. Regardless if there will be some bugs at the beginning

Yes, it doesn’t on the actual experience… But think: If you can keep firing the AC and doing damage to the dead people, the ones trying to revive the dead guy will have to sit under AC fire for longer time… Not everyone can stand under sustained AC fire while ressing someone for THAT long.

Besides, that post is actually a complement to the “No hard ress allowed while in combat” as an AC would be enough to keep people in combat if you keep firing at the dead bodies.
