Have they fixed the immobilize yourself bug? Our D/D ele and my thief kept triggering it to the point we just stopped playing them. Weapon switching supposedly fixed it so I guess it was like the building siege bug but that isn’t possible on an ele and was annoying on the thief.

Each stun/immbo should have its duration halved after one has been used within say 3-5seconds of them using one.

Example (say each stun/immbo lasts for 3 seconds)

1st: Lasts 3 seconds
2nd lasts 1.5 seconds
3rd lasts 0.75 seconds

This way it would mean that the target would have time to be able to do SOMETHING about it and the attacker would have to use other attacks while they wait for the “debuff” to expire

It could be something like:

Exhausted: The effort you used to stun/immbo your target has weakened you, during this period you Stuns/Immbo have diminishing returns. Stacks. Lasts 5 seconds.

If I was working for them I would probably find out who actually had the idea to make immob stack and demote them to the mail room. This person clearly has zero experience with MMO’s to make such a rookie mistake. #1 thing complained about in MMO’s is class balance, #2 … yip you guessed it, CC.

I believe the root of all evil is +condition duration. WvW would be so much better place without food.

I mean, look at these lvl 80 foods:

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fancy_Truffle_Burger
+15% poison duration
+70 Precision

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Fire_Meat_Chili
+15% burn duration
+70 precision

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Chocolate_Omnomberry_Cake
+15% chill duration.
+70 power

http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rare_Veggie_Pizza
+40% condition duration
+70 Condition Damage.

Doesn’t make any sense!

WvW is a place for min-maxing. Enemy using food buffs to get crazy condition duration? Use food buff yourself for whatever shenanigans you have and hope they beat your opponents’.
I haven’t been immob-locked yet, but I imagine it’s similarly annoying in the way stun-lock is.

This thread is specifically about immobilize stacking, which recently had it’s mechanic changed to be able to stack (5?) times in duration. The foods aren’t the issue.

It’s more powerful than stunlock in some key ways, and when you experience it, you’ll know why (unless you are running a melandru/lemongrass/dogged march warrior or the elementalist/engineer equivalent, but most classes can’t just be passively immune to root, even with trait/gear/food).

Stuns do not stack duration (knockback/launch sort of does but isn’t easy to accomplish). Stunbreaks remove all stun/daze/knockdown/back/launch effects, immobilize has very few specific skills to break it. Stability counters stuns, it doesn’t help immobilize at all. There are many more quickly available immobilizes than stuns, leg specialist warriors, engineers, rangers, venom thieves (probably more….) all have access to easily spammable immobilize and plenty of conditions to cover preventing the only counter (other than dodging).

In large scale fights it’s not a problem particularly, but in small/medium scale it’s incredibly powerful against most opponents.

Hats off to all the ones who stood before me, and taught a fool to ride.

I have yet to notice it honestly, the most I have gotten is a slight half-second pause and briefly saw the Immobilize symbol “flash” and that was with the 36% duration food…Either way yeah I got that trait too, and with my setup have about 3-4 ways to break it if it ever becomes a prob.

The foods been in game since launch and the only class buffed condition damage wise since then is Necromancer and some classes received torment. Where were all the complaints since then.

Yes, but Conditions have really only been over the top since the addition of Torment.

And that point has taken a while to sink in. People didn’t complain about the food then because Conditions weren’t a problem. Well they are now.

You see, the point he was trying to make is that when you compare the Pizza food to the other food, it stands out as vastly, vastly superior in every way. And that superiority is game-breaking.

Most regular food buffs a single condition by 15%.

Pizza buffs ALL conditions by up to 40%. That includes:

  • Poison (additional healing reduction)
  • Bleeds
  • Confusion (increases the time significantly you need to hold-off on using abilities)
  • Cripple
  • Torment
  • Chilled (snare AND longer cooldowns)
  • Burning
  • Blind (more of a mitigation effect really)
  • Weakness (less damage pressure, less endurance regeneration)
  • Immobilize (really more of a CC effect, still improved by Pizza though)
  • Vulnerability
  • Fear (another CC effect increased by Pizza)

So really, +40% Condition duration not only means a 40% DPS increase for all intensity-stacking conditions, it also means.

  • more mitigation
  • less endurance for your target
  • much longer CC effects
  • much longer healing reduction
  • more control-effects like Confusion and Torment

Now compare that again to some of the more popular Power-food and explain how this is fair?

+100 Power
+70 Precision
(adds maybe 5% DPS to your power-build)

+66% chance to heal on critical
+70 Precision
(heals for roughly 320 every 5 seconds, if in combat. This food was considered OP for a while when it did not have an internal cooldown as it made Precision builds very durable)

+200 Power for 30 seconds following a kill.
+10% Crit-damage
(this may add up to 10% DPS to power builds if the buff is maintained, but less if not).

So please do tell me again how this compares to the +40% Condition DPS added by Pizza next to all the other added benefits of extended Conditions?

There is no power-food, no piece of gear or trait that is anywhere near as powerful as the pizza buff food.

yeah condition in this game is soooo strong that everyone switched to power builds.have even noticed that? necros condi spam is strong but nerfing everything condi based hurts all other classes way more than the necro. condi mes is already pretty non existant. engi is still ok with it and thief can pull it off when roaming, but everyone else switched to power.
the only problem is immobilize and that it stacks. immobilize is wayyy to dominat atm. instead of nerfing the food, i think u wanna fix immobilize first.

Yet another idiotic post. They added +40% condition duration food to give condition builds A CHANCE against power builds. Simply comparing food and not mentioning THE RAW DPS OF POWER BUILDS over a short amount of time is…

Ah yes, because Condition builds suffer so much in sPvP?

Oh wait….

Your point is complete conjecture. You have no idea why ANet added this food and what it was supposed to accomplish. Tbh I don’t think they gave it much thought.

And nothing in this game has ever given the indication that PvE DPS is in any way a concern for ANet. I doubt it’s even much of a benchmark.

I will say that most of my deaths in zerg fights are due to being immob for like 5-10 seconds.

My mesmer in a zerg fight loses once stability fails. Mesmers don’t bring much of that to fight. We rely on guardians mostly and there are usually plenty around, but when it fails (and eventually it does) I get pulled, pushed, feared out of the healing stack. Then I’m dead.

I’m seriously reconsidering my mesmer as a WvW character, at least for zerging. I love the character but the current meta is just not much for a mesmer except for some 1v1 roaming. That’s not much fun either when you run into a small party of hammer warriors.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.
