Lets see I havent posted on a forum for any of the matchups this same group has had, but I have read through them and held my tongue(fingers). The double team issue is a non-factor, the mudslinging, that I consider a factor. There really really shouldnt be any mudslinging, for most of the timezones arent all of our players finding at least a little bit of fun to fight? Seriously go look at some of the servers who have 10k or 20k points for the week. I for one am glad for this matchup its never been a true spanking for any one server. Tactics, I remember reading but will not quote a guy from previous weeks saying that a certain server has no tactics… are we really debating that one server has better tactics or strategy than the other after months of W3, because everyone has the same tactics, its come down to when and how a server goes about using them to their advantage and if they have the numbers to do so. So please dont start up well this server has better tactics than this brainless zerg server because honestly, the player that says that about another server really hasnt seen the “tactics” servers zerg time because it acts the same as the one you called brainless b4. You only see good tactics and strategy when the teams are small fighting a larger force and holding while others take stuff from behind. W3 for tactics and strategy have become stale every server has run out of their playbooks when fighting the same servers multiple weeks so yes strategy is out the window for the most part because the other server knows whats coming, they know what force they need to counter it. Now to the mudslinging, honestly grow up a little bit, all of you including my server mates. All the time I see ppl defend themselves which that in itself is justified…but they ruin it with another insult attatched in, why oh why if you think you are better than the person who insulted you do you do the same thing I mean really? There are a lot of stubborn posters among each server who think they havto stand up for their server in every post. Way I see it based on past and present forum insults: DH thinks DB is a pvdoor server and NSP is a thorn in everyones side. DB thinks DH is some big bad server that they must obliterate, While NSP is again a thorn in its side too, NSP thinks its funny beating down on both servers which honestly is kinda awesome so far theyve done it right in that regard kept their end fairly clean on the posting side. No server has a PvDoor time, every server has completely trashed on themselves for not thanking the few who do play when the zerg sleep and this happens in every matchup of every tier. Please take some time out of your day to thank the 10 or so people per map that do their best to hold what the zerg has earned, its long past due, I have seen a lot of hate from the zerg when they log on to see everything lost, but they have no idea what hell the few that were there defending it went through. I believe that sums up what really should have been said by all in this or any of our past threads but feel free to flame it if its unsatisfactory. I thought if you near the Character name you could message them.
If you have them as a target, you can actually see their name and yes, you can message them. I have yet to message anyone from another server, although I have received some pretty hateful ones myself. Turns out most people do not like mesmers very much. Or at least my enemies. I’ve found out that a thief will rage faster than any other class when they get bested. I was referring more to open map chat. That would be quite messy. Wise choice by Anet not opening that can of worms.
The chance of the Map chat turning into a totally flame fest is way to high. doubtful you’ll find another mmo that risks that in there game.

Thanks for the great post. I’m on DB in the morning MST where I often get frustrated trying to defend, upgrade, place siege, etc. while having so few numbers. Posts like this make the frustration go away.
OS Should come clean out all of their dead members from Langors.
It’s okay. We had 440 points and all of darkhaven’s side in EB before that.
We are satisfied with keeping it as long as we did and moving up into second.
BTW, you just bragged that a server that doesn’t have ques and has outmanned buffs on every borderland if Os isn’t on one of them, was able to push all the way down into your territory, take all your towers and your keep while retaining their own against dragonbrand, go into your borderlands and take half of that map. God forbid your commanders sign on and take things back with the three massive and organized guilds on your server that each field 3 times the amount of people our guild can.

Then tell me what is it called with 10-15 Db AND 10-15 NSP are fighting side by side killing our Golems. You tell me why DB is camping a supply camp that is closest to our (DH) Spawn on the other side of the map, when they do not event have their area accounted for. You tell me why NSP or DB takes our supply camps when we assault the other teams objectives.

Hey you, everything I wrote is not a lie. It happened, and I was not the only one to see it. Yes DB AND NSP were attacking us standing right next to eachother in NSP BL today. Yes DB was camping our south east supply camp, when their south west supply camp was owned by NSP. No I am not making this stuff up. If thats how NSP wants to roll well ok, I can always adjust my target to make NSP’s WvW life miserable too.
You obviously only read part of what I wrote, and assumed that I was talking about this “double teaming” that you care so much about.
Frankly, I don’t care about who’s fighting who.
However, if you read the voices of reason in this thread who understand the dynamics of a fight with 3 sides, you may begin to understand that whatever a side decides to do, it’s always in their own favor.

It’s interesting that you expect something different from these threads. It seems obvious but I’ll suggest it anyways. If you don’t like it then don’t read it, because the tone of these threads were set a long time ago.

It seems obvious, but I’ll say it anyway. I have, in fact, seen better in these threads than what some people are posting, which is why I ask for those who are posting trash to vacate themselves from it.
Let’s take a realistic look at this match-up considering strategy and not emotion.
The only servers with a chance for first are DH and DB. No matter what NSP does, it will still come in third by the end of the week. So I can’t really fault NSP for just being downright annoying toward whomever they hate. Some of DH’s players are doing a pretty good job at provoking their wrath through the forums.
For the other two servers, DB gets most of its points from capping everything in the middle of the night and the fact that there is little decent resistance to take it back until midday. The only way for DH to overcome that is to push themselves and take as many points as possible during NA primetime and hold it until DB’s night crew shows up. Now that DB has a decent NA primetime presence, this task is nearly insurmountable and a lot of DH is burnt out from the previous two weeks. It also doesn’t help that DB’s night crew is pretty good, even though it’s mostly PvDoor.

We kind of have a right to brag considering the situation. We are doing kitten good considering what we are up against. The only reason we got into this bracket in the first place is SF PVE quit during the lost shores event and we gained so many points by having the entirety of all four maps because they were too busy pveing.
With the numbers we have verses the numbers DH has and the night numbers advantage DB has, I’d say we are doing all right. We’ve kept the points so close every week that we consider it a win. It really is though with some of the rofl things I have seen going on.

You didn’t deserve it. There’s a couple of people that “flame reply posts” consistently. No need to mention names because we all know who they are. From first hand experience, it’s best to ignore them and continue enjoying your game the way you like to play. I don’t know how long you’ve been on DB, but for the longest time, we faced such huge blowouts by one server that it made me question why I even bothered to play WvW. Now that the matches are closer and more competitive, it’s pretty much all I do as well, and I actually enjoy it a LOT more.

The point is that WvW is a 24 hour game. DH is stronger at one time than DB is and DB is stronger for a longer period of time. It makes DB a stronger overall server and that is causing the win in points. You need to quit raging on DBs nightime/early morning presence because you have the same advantages every evening. What makes your primetime any better than DB’s?

Thinking about it they would obviously be there defending that tower because it was right outside their spawn and they would want to defend it. It was all red names and golems and we were pretty much just focused on the golems because the theory was after taking Briar they would go to Bay next which was our last keep on the map and those golems had already cut through our 2 other keeps like they were butter.
I could see DB thinking the same thing: DH has golems taking our tower, kill the golems and wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of them didn’t realize we had come in trying to put some dmg on the golems.
I laugh at all the double-teaming talk. We may need to go back to calling it World vs World VS WORLD. I’m under the constant feeling of being double teamed because hey… there are two other servers here fighting…
Cheers to NSP trying to take Sunny today on DB BL. I came in just as we were attacking your 3 trebs. What I want to know, is how you managed to get 300 supply up the hill for the 3 trebs with only about 15 people? On DB sometimes we have trouble building 2 rams with 20 people in our group.

Your example fails because it’s not a 1v1 match. Both NSP and DH have a US prime presence. DH doesn’t get serious PvDoor opportunities because NSP generally has a non-outmanned presence during that time.
Furthermore, I’d suspect that in a straight 1v1 matchup, DB would outright lose to DH. In a 1v1 with NSP, we’d probably see a very very close match, which either side could walk end up taking the victory.
It’s a 24 hour matchup, and so it’s a bit silly to complain about PvDoor. But it’s completely ridiculous for DB to try trash talk and act like their US prime time team does anything major to contribute to the score.

Your servers mesmers that were portaling people up were pulling people off the stairs, there were about 4 other noobs camping underneath the chest. Luckily they were noobs and couldn’t kill an ele.
To that 3 lowbie mesmers from Rakk guild who were camping EB JP entrance omg that was hilarious! After carefully watching what happened there it turned out there weren’t just 1 lowbie mesmer but 2, and after slowing it down more, there were 3 who look exactly the same, and have same guild too.
Too funny! Makes me wanna make a mesmer lookalike group as well, haha.
Also to the OS guy, maybe you weren’t attacking, but you were just standing there watching the ‘noobs’ pull people off. If you don’t want to get in the mess then stay out of it. Sorry for the kill though.

Which example are you referring to? They’re both essentially the same with the names changed.
I see you, like many others, underestimate DB. In strategical matters, that’s a serious mistake and just the way I like it.

DB’s prime time presence is occasionally not outmanned in EB, and often loses significant pieces of ground in their own BL. If DH didn’t have to deal with NSP all prime time in EB, those DB players would be spawn camped, just like NSP has managed to do to DH a couple times already this week.
But the biggest reason why no one credits DB’s prime time group is because they lose. They might lose because their outmanned, but that doesn’t stop NSP from cleaning DB up every morning. Nothing’s quite like capturing keeps and towers from DB every single morning (when there’s a total of zero DH on the map) despite all of us NSP players having the outmanned buff.
DB pulls ahead solely because of the oceanic presence. Their prime time group might limit the amount that NSP and DH catch up during the rest of the day, but they don’t have anything to do with DB scoring points.
No server has a PvDoor time, every server has completely trashed on themselves for not thanking the few who do play when the zerg sleep and this happens in every matchup of every tier.
I recognize that we’re in the same guild and all but uh…I’m still going to disagree with you and contradict your post. So is that why on Saturday morning at 6am DH had a 10000 point lead, but then 2 hours later DB had the lead?
I witnessed this first hand so for you to say there is no pvd action going on which is the only way you can close a 10000 point gap in 2 hours. It took them literally 2 hours to close the lead we built up over about 14 hours, since the reset.
We think it because it’s true. Now before everyone gets all in a huff over this comment I don’t think anything can or should be done about it. It’s the nature of wvwvw, if you don’t have 24 hour coverage you lose, it’s that simple. I’m not complaining just pointing out what I’ve seen.
You all seem to have misunderstood what the point of my PvDoor comment was, so I’ll clear it up. Each server has times where it clearly outnumbers the enemy that’s a given hence the term pvdoor, what I was referring to is that our server just like all the other servers, act like there isnt a single defender trying to save what they have, or does not deserve to have pride in defending what they may not have earned. This might be those peoples prime time/only time to play we trash them by saying its pvdoor without acknowledging they did their best to fight back how is that fair to them, to judge what they do vs what their zerg does. We that live in the zerg time go to sleep, how often do you think about the few defenders that havto live through the hours where another server dominates. I’ve played in the zerg hours and the “PvDoor” hours, honestly when I read chat during the zerg time I rarely see thanks guys for holding what you can or gj posts for the few that fought the enemy zerg during the home team zergs sleep. So I hope that clears up the meaning behind my earlier statement.

Cheers to NSP trying to take Sunny today on DB BL. I came in just as we were attacking your 3 trebs. What I want to know, is how you managed to get 300 supply up the hill for the 3 trebs with only about 15 people? On DB sometimes we have trouble building 2 rams with 20 people in our group.

The truth of the matter is both you and NSP put DB in the hurt locker. i’m a NA player and thats what happen’s. But we normally get massive reprieves during those long seiges because sooner or later the other server goes into the others backyard and cherry picks all your/their undefended territory.

For the past few hours, NSP has been outmanned in EB. Usually at this time we’re outnumbered, but won’t receive the outmanned buff until around midnight central. But the 2nd week of December is prime finals (or dead week) time for US colleges and universities. Populations are going to be all over the place until the new year.

I’ve been reading through this thread since Friday, and it really saddens me to see all the flaming, the anger, and the resentment that’s built up. A few nights ago I was talking to my guild leads about how Darkhaven and Dragonbrand would make a perfect 24/7 coverage WvW server. And I still think if we joined in one server, DH’s NA and DB’s Asian/Oceanic would make a great server.
Please try to treat each other with respect. We can be enemies, and fight each other, but it’s still a game, and it’s still respectful to show sportsmanship.

Last time I checked, “quarter to eight” was about 45 minutes after “7 am in the morning.” Furthermore, no one ever complained about NSP’s morning presence. That’s the only time NSP can manage to pick points back up. Judging from the progress, and the fact that there’s actually DH players in one of your screenshots, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you’re PST, which would make those screens from just before 11am EST and after noon EST, which are hardly “overnight” times.

I have yet to hear NSP being pvdoor. I haven’t read everything on this forum but you have it all backwards. Everyone claims DB to do that when NA is sleeping. Take it back a notch and chill, NSP could use you out there in WvW then here.

maybe I word it wrong, but i am not referring to nsp pvding, but I simply shown 3 ss total in which is part of the so call “db pvd” time.
It’s not as “pvd” for DB as some are thinking. There is surely some type of resistance and sometimes its less sometimes its more.
Btw I live in california, I am on at that time because I am a college Junior with night classes. Being up early in the morning is much better than playing 3 hours before class while Dh just zergs everything

I also agree, i had a blast on EB tonight though!! So much fun fighting that one db [NKK] commander with the twilitight who kept attacking our trebs and holding out in Veloka from nsp with walls and gate down for about an hour, probably the best in tower fight ever, really felt like a crazy war zone.
