I’m finding that in general the defenders glowing door is sapping a lot of fun out of being an attacker (a role that’s under-rewarded as it is). To have a warrior leap from the battlements, spin around for a while then casually leap back through his door is highly disheartening for anyone on the attacking side. Why should defenders be allowed such degrees of recklessness with next to no risk?

I propose that taking damage prevents use of the door for a few seconds, thereby curbing this highly irritating tactic.

Are you using Daze? Stun? Knockback? Pull? Cripple? Chill? Guardian walls? Bubbles?

No?

Ok it is easy go the your Utility skills and pick some that have the above effects. Next time someone jumps CC him.

Not really, health pools are so huge in this game, and stun breaks/leaps so prevelent that I’m seing people get to the door even under heavy fire. You’re proposing an (innefective I might add) workaround rather than adressing the problem itself.

Was never a problem in Dark Age of Camelot, and doors there have worked the same way for 10 years.

I have seen the blue doors COVERED in aoe and enemy attacks… Ever though of, instead of hitting the gate with your abilities which do little or no damage, let the rams or catapults, that do huge damage to gates, do their job and focus your attentions on the little glowing door.

The defending team always has an advantage to defending, as a pure melee specced thief, if I dont risk hopping out that glowing door, doing some damage and slipping back inside, I’m just sat on the walls tossing daggers. Besides, There is a risk, if I die out there, my chances of getting ressed up is incredibly small and I have to run back and hope i can sneak in again.

If your not on a ram or siege … ignore the big wooden gate and focus your skills on the glowing gate instead..simple.

I’ve noticed the exact opposite most of the time. Stepping out of a door at any point in time is basically suicide if the enemy is zerging your gate.

When I see someone drop down I put a guardian wall in front of the door lol.
Watch hilarity ensue as they run around scared that their exit has been thwarted.

I use it also when someone tries to run through the zerg with supplies or to help in defense.

Agreed, if anything stepping outside at all is major suicide. Which is why I like to go ‘fishing’ during an attack with my necromancer. 9 times out of 10 if you stun the person, it only takes that few seconds of stun until 6 people are tearing them apart.

This will hopefully become less of a problem when Guardian wards are fixed. Right now people just dodge through them half the time
