I’m thinking that removal of supply stored in Towers and Keeps needs to be controllable in some way.

If upgrades have been ordered at least a percentage of supply needs to be reservable for the upgrades. As it is, newer players that are unaware of the supply/upgrade mechanics can really impede the defence of site. It’s also possible for an unsporting team to use players on another server to ensure there’s never any supply for upgrades in a fortification.

The mechanic would need to be overridable, so that should the worst happen and a team holds no Supply Camps the supply in fortification can be used as needed. This could be achieved by suspending or cancelling an upgrade in progress. The main issue would be in granting the privileges to cancel upgrades or release supply, the claiming guild being a likely option. But it’s not ideal for a number of reasons….

I acknowledge there’s a trade off between the casual players not being worried by the long term situation in WvW and the players who play GW2 almost entirely for the epic WvW gameplay. I’m very happy with the way WvW is open for all players, although as such there’s always likely to be a proportion of players in WvW that don’t know about the supply mechanic.

So, issue or non-issue?

Without a doubt “top teams” are using slave accounts to drain enemy fortification resources prior to siege. Guaranteed.

I do try, and I’m happy to do so. But that’s a potential for a lot of explaining….. and I don’t do well when conversing in Mandarin.

I think this is the sort of issue that can only be worked out by explaining things to people. Unfortunately, it’s not often a very rewarding experience.

I suspect so too Faranox, but thought I’d see what the community had to say on it.

I think bases could use a bit of iteration in how they’re managed. There’s only so far that social solutions can go; some people seem to just turn off their chat and go crazy, and it can take just one person to completely deprive a base of income.
