Hey everyone thought i would bring this up and I havent seen much in this forum concerning this topic called Defense.. Most dont talk about it because very few do it. I thinks its an issue in all servers even large pop servers unless you got not just people committed but whole guilds involved. Best offense is the defense that backs it up. You can cap stuff all day but unless you defend it you wont have it very long. Defense must be 1st on our mind.. 1. cap tower or keep 2. put eyes in there at least 3-5 in a keep situation. 3. build seige ac’s must go up fairly quickly they offer a lot of defense before your trebs are built for gate protect etc. 4. upgrades and make sure someone knows how to upgrade so some pug doesnt click wrong upgrade so stay by quartermaster.. 5 guard supply and tell people (Dont Take Keep Supply ) you need it for upgrades. 6. make sure you guard them yaks thats your lifeblood without them you have no supply and your dead. 7. Good communication in map among your defensive teams and the CMDRS running the zergs. 8. Refresh seige its costly and without it you cant defend.. If you do all of this and a few more things i didnt go into, your chance of holding stuff has improved a lot. Outnumbered always cause issues with Defense if your numbers are lower then the enemy.. Whats your feeling on Defense ?? How does your guild or server treat this very important part of WvW ?? Lets find out.

Siege is good if you have the people to man them. The new thing now is for the attacking zerg to use an arrow cart and wipe out all of your siege completely before attacking the tower. If you don’t have people to fend them off immediately, all of your siege is gone no matter where you place it.

I think it will help the reader a lot if you separated out the points. All good tips.

My thoughts:

  • Anet rewards “offense” too much and defense too little. Yes, the server maintains control over the structure but the player gains very little personally,
  • Very disheartening to see CMDRs prioritize their own Ktrain/raid over defense of almost completed keeps despite early warnings and pleas for assistance,
  • If the enemy is using hacks, it feels there is little point defending until Anet fixes the problem.
