Instead of Dolyak carrying supplies to the castle/keep, let the players do this job. Upon deaths, players lose 50% of their supplies and drop them on the ground. Enemy players can pick them up. You will lose all of your supplies once you leave the map.

This will make zerg team wipe more rewarding and crucial. Roamers can achieve a lot more, creating difference in the map by sapping their enemy’s supplies. Defending and raiding supplies will become significant factors. Small and big team fights will happen a lot more often.

I’m proposing this idea, because the supply camps don’t matter in WvW. You can simply resupply from EoTM or other maps and come back. That’s just silly. By applying these changes, there will be more things to give crap about in WvW. Every death matters. If you fail to maintain the supply camps, you have options to flip the supply camp, and play defensively, or raid your enemies because you’re a killer. Everyone should be able to contribute to the map in the way they prefer to do so.

Do you guys think this will make WvW more interesting for both pugs and those pvp junkies in zerg squads?

It’s interesting idea, except the part where I spend the night running laps. Nothing would be upgraded anymore unless it’s a zerg server because no one is going to pack mule their playtime.

Have to agree with this.

I do think that removing supply on change map might be worth a separate consideration. That seems to be the main problem ?

Guild and players need incentivation on holding stuff, and defend stuff to t3, remove doylacks would be a bad move, it would make WvW worse than EOTM…

I’m proposing this idea, because the supply camps don’t matter in WvW.

It’s just too bad they are absolutely critical at the same time.

Dollys both feed constant points and they upgrade/supply objectives… That’s important enough for most. Hell sometimes I have seen servers put more siege on a T0 camp than my server usually put on a T3 tower, just because they want to upgrade something.

What an ungodly waste of time and what kind of self respecting wvw’er goes into EoTM. I spend hours every day in wvw and have MAYBE 10mims total time across all my characters in EoTM.

But that’s besides the point, facing a double zone screen to grab supply across BLs and then end up reset at entre point of BL you are “working in” is a horrible use of your time. I’m fairly certain most classes can solo a supply camp without much effort so many up and go grab supply plus points for your server.

A regular BL has 3 supply camps in your favor if it’s your home or if your the visiting server. You can’t tell me you can’t open up North, Northeast or Northwest on your home BL to supply. Additionally, visiting server South is very easy to cap, you have approach advantage to the camp on your side and kitten, I main a nonstealth class and can creep myself up to 1 of the 3 north camps without much trouble, it’s called map awareness.

None of this takes into account peeling supply out of towers/keeps, check the quantities, if you are back and forth claiming towers and your Garrison is fully stocked, then grab your supply from Garrison since it will be refilled easily.

DBL is even easier, the map is complex in comparison to BLs and there are also added the havoc/roam group distraction of shrines, you should be able to easily find a camp to quick cap.

EBG depends a bit more on if you are even, doing well, or being overwhelmed. Situation 1 and 2, there should be no reason you can’t sup off your two camps or recap them. Additionally each side has 2 towers and generally 1 is hit more frequently then the other, think Durious, so grab sup from the other. If you are being steamrolled by an enemy, their zerg is pushing or hs your keep….they are sitting with the majority of thier forces across map, take thier camp, it’s going to be wide open.

Off hours a 5 man can take garrisons, last night we duo’d 5 tower caps as enemy focused on tag on other side of map.

Get out there, get confident and down fear being downed, downed state = ts scout report, and repairs are mad cheap

Quite a few servers and guild groups. If we’re being told to resupply on another map and come back, it means all our stuff is low on supply or we need large amounts ASAP. Faster to waypoint to EBG keep and take the 1,800 supply untouched there then fighting over the 100 supply in camps or the 300 in towers.

I disagree. This would make it very difficult if not impossible to defend. I also think we have way bigger issues than this for WvW that need fixing.

Faster to waypoint to EBG keep and take the 1,800 supply untouched there then fighting over the 100 supply in camps or the 300 in towers.

Lots of servers do this from time to time. After a very hard fight mine rebuilt the walls in SM virtually instantly despite SM itself being empty. They carried supply from the Keeps on home border.

Making people carry supply would result in 2 things. Firstly zergy servers will upgrade things instantly. Second servers with PvP biased guilds won’t want to defend anything anyway, so their stuff will be paper.

Honestly, the generator method used in EOTM is a pretty good one. I remember when EOTM first came out that I had thought they were going to implement it in to real WvW but they never did.

Dolyaks are okay as they are. I don’t think they’re in any real need of changes but I would agree that better things could be done. The generator system is a step up in terms of efficiency and balance but I’m not sure that I could see ANet ever actually removing Dolyaks.

And for anyone who’s unaware: Generators in EOTM are basically supply camps with buildable structures. Building the structures surrounding the generator increases it’s supply delivery. Every, I think it’s 60seconds? Supplies are instantly teleported to the nearest structure. It’s the same idea as Dolyaks really except that there’s no travel time between the camp and the objective. Meaning either you capture the generator to stop the flow of supplies or destroy the generators to reduce the flow of supplies.

Easier way to close up broken walls and things on kitten filled garri after an epic battle to retake it…while your entire BL has been flipped. :/

Seriously though: Dolyaks provide the best sources for 1vX fights. Follow a Dolyak, guaranteed to get a few fights from roamers, better than 1 v zerg v lag.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

It’s already hard to get some people to run supplies to repair/rebuild siege. This would just add more to this problem as most people just wanna run behind a tag not doing silly stuff.
