Developer response - WvW vs sPVP
While I do try and take time out to respond to posts in our forums, it is also the case that time spent on the forums is time not spent getting something else done. Right now, we have a lot of balls in the air, so it’s less possible for us to post frequently.
So you’re saying… you all wear kilts?
I liked the part in the lates blog where they referenced to devons 6,5 month old blog about WvW.
Seems like its not worth mentioning what you are really working on. Just suprisees like the really, really usefull traps.

I have to admit, they did a great job on the supply traps, eh? I’ve had groups come to my tower to try and take it, hit a supply trap then actually look confused as to what to do next. It’s true I haven’t found much use for stealth traps as of yet, but supply traps… beautiful things indeed.

Now my math isn’t the best in the world, but I am rather sure that June 5 was not 6,5 months ago.

it also shows very clearly in the skill lag which we’ve had for almsot a year now.
So no actual source then?
Culling did not exist in first beta weekends. And it was obviously a fixed number of people you could see on your screen. This fixed amount, the variable, was implemented by Anet.

Oh, I am fully aware that Culling was added by ArenaNet.
I am simply questioning his reason that it was “because they wanted to save money on servers”.

My bad, misread. That’s still a poor game design :/

Supply traps are incredibly useful.

dig up old posts form habib leow where he told, all they had to do was throw more money(upgrade servers) to fix it.. i cant really be bothered to search.
regardless of it Culling is still not something which shouldnt have been in the first place when they were planning to make 2000 people play accross 4 maps as they intended.
i bet you will say the same thing when/if skill lag gets fixed. that it took develper time, again i would say the same thing, skill lag shouldn’t be there in the first place, jsut like culling.

Time spent on the forums and reading our suggestions and fixes > any time you may spend on working on ideas the players who actually play – don’t want.

Forums are a great relay for bugs and exploits, these things are factual events and oft hard to dispute… they are however a terrible relay for “good idea to make the game better” for any which idea there are usually as many detractors and supporters because its not about “our” suggestions as if were some collective skritt overmind, its about “my” suggestions or “I like this one” suggestions.

Last major patch: We are no longer outmanned but outnumberd. lol
But we still can kick someone from my party who went offline. (it’s only been like that for the last 10 month)
tdlr: Anet does not care.
The WvW devs could probably read our suggestions more if every WvW suggestion thread wasn’t immediately moved to the suggestions thread where it gets buried under 10 pages of asking for more mini’s, or a new quaggan backpack idea, or any of ideas in a long line is silliness. They probably couldn’t even FIND one.
I bet the WvW devs could get a lot more ideas from the community if we could either 1) keep WvW suggestions in the WvW discussion, or 2) give us our own suggestion thread so that our suggestions stay in discussion. The suggestions thread for PvE is like a graveyard for ideas in WvW.
