So I just saw this video linked in a different thread..

And I have to ask, what happened to what you learned, or are all these devs gone now?
I watch the enthusiasm and excitement these devs had after their adopt a dev experience and then you look at the state of wvw today, total lack of interest, total lack of understanding.

How does it get any better than what wvw used to be in GW2? Dynamic game play depending on tactics not gimmicks. Desert bl map could work, if it were one borderland, not all three. Wouldn’t it make sense that one map is alpine, one desert one…maybe coastal? or use the oasis event, ditch it first off, and use that portion of the map to make the third type of borderland. Just a suggestion.

That’s only one issue though. Before devs do anything with wvw they need to implement adopt a dev again so they can see whats happening in wvw. Right now devs are hiding in towers behind siege, banners and airstrikes. Get out of the tower and see what you’ve done to the game.

They seemed very passionate about the intensity, the importance of commanders, and how important group composition and teamwork is to WvW. Strange how they implemented changes like nerfing stability, implementing banners and air strikes that seem to destroy those aspects of the game.

Thanks for finding this video. Maybe this will inspire someone to get back on the right track.

J.C. said they intended to do it again… what happened? Perhaps they’ll do it again during the new format beta?

Edit: What do you think they’ll call it? The Mists War?

I don’t really think its possible for the Devs to be as clueless as you would need to be to let wvw fall into the state its currently in. It just screams kittene management to me. We have the famous quote of “If you’re into to wvw you’re really into pve” coming from management. I prefer to think most of the devs that wvw have their hands tied. I mean so many great ideas to improve wvw have been posted here. Some really kittene ones too, but they can’t of missed them all.

If you’re metric show that I’m regularly farming pve its to pay for my wvw habbit not because I enjoy it.

I did not see this link before…the fact they have this experience and STILL miss the mark…holy poop…the incompetence level is over 9000
