How in gods name is sos server full when YB, BG and TC very high? SOS was high just a few days ago(now it’s full) and BG is very high? Are you kidding me? Is this some sort of Anet conspiracy?

This is most likely due to WvW population being based on edge of the mist populations. Which have actually been incredibly high lately due to pve players farming hero points. That being said, it is sad that eotm even counts still as its about as much of a wvw map as silverwastes is.

Sounds like a bug of some sort to me. SOS did not have anything even remotely close to blob sizes of TC and FA all weekend long, not even at prime time. I don’t think we qued a single map even a single time, if we did, it was so brief that I missed it and we definetly didn’t form voltron even a single time.

I’d say at NA prime we are around 1/2 to 3/4 size of either of the other 2 servers depending on days etc. Not sure how OCX is doing, but am willing to bet they were not that full either with everyone runing around new PVE maps.

We did however have the “phantom” queues several times, the ones where maps say they are full, but you go in instantly, and find out that you’re barely above the outmanned buff with it flipping on / off back and forth.

I wonder if those 2 bugs are related in some way perhaps.

I suspect you guys are overlooking the rolling average and the way it lags which allows “stacking” to occur without it being reflected for awhile in the population status. Don’t use just this weekend as an example. SoS has been competitive against TC and FA for the past three weeks at least, the entire tier has been relatively balanced for the past month as guilds have moved in and/or returned for the xpac (i.e. TSYM). Change is always visible in hindsight.

Tc and Fa had a map blob in almost every time zone. And sos is the only one that’s full? Explain bg then how are they open? Sos has in no way a population of a full server.

It isn’t the only one. There’s three full NA servers: JQ, FA, and SoS.

EOTM is not meant to count, anet stated this plainly. The question then becomes were they lying or is it a bug?

What1?!!?> There is absolutely NO WAY that SOS has more people than TC! How on earth can TC be ‘very high’ and SOS ‘full’!?!!?! Hell, even FA isn’t THAT populated, not enough to reach a ‘full’ status… something is messed up here….

In all seriousness… I think Anet should check my account is not causing some sort of bug. I joined SoS two weeks ago and I’ve never been in a single fight where we have not been outnumbered. I’ve not been on a single borderland including eotm where we were not outnumbered.

I noticed some problems on SFR before I left there… coincidently, SFR is now not full since I left. More than once I was on a borderland where we were outnumbered but the borderland had a que to join.

It just seems strange that SoS is now facing the same problems that SFR was now that I’ve moved… perhaps it is just coincidence… but I play all times of day and night, so I have a good idea of the population sizes at various times in the 24 hour cycle… and there is absolutely no way that SoS is full.

Im from TC. All i can say is since we left T1 we had inumerous guilds leaving TC to BG/FA/SOS and some to T3.
Who played TC during t1 times and plays TC nowadays notices a huge difference.
We managed to have 2-3 queues at reset..and i mean queues..(50-70 long eventually)
Now we barelly have 1 map queue and it is like 15-25.
And yes SOS and FA has been competitive on the last month. So, saying you never had numbers or never blobbled maps is pure lies..
Yes you have numbers… yes you do blob eventually, same way we do.. even with some of the guilds who left TC..
I am not sure why SOS is full.
Lately i had a feeling that FA received more players than both other t2 servers, but then again..TC was full for over a year.. i guess TC got status open due to this ammount of ppl that left over the past 3 months..
It is ok to ask why is SOS full… but saying you never have numbers…or that you can barely blob or put up a fight is like 10 year old cry…
So please.. stick to the facts…
TC lost coverage and important guilds.. we survived because we still have some strong guilds.. but they are quite few now and we depend on them to defend all BLs..
We respect FA.. had some good fights and fun with them..
We also respect SOS.. some good fights as well.. even on the first week after we left t1 when we were stacked… still had some nice fights on garri and had fun..
To summarise:
FA deserves the full status
BG does not deserve the open status
YK does not deserve the open status
TC deserves the open status
SOS does not deserve the full status

Agreed. Whatever calculations Anet is using these days are severely broken. I seem to remember a red post claiming they would monitor/adjust (or implement) the calculations but I kinda doubt that’s ever going to happen.

It wasn’t too clear on if they manually locked things down or if they actually went live with a new calculation system.

The way the status is set right now it does seem like one of their staff members/interns is taking their best guess at setting the server status each week based on movement.

So there has been anet responses to other issues but not this. John Corpening acknowledges in that statement that server imbalance was a huge issue yet here they are letting servers in both T1 and T2 get out of balance.

All the T1 guilds logged into their SoS accounts for a month?

As someone that’s on TC, I can honestly say that anyone saying SoS is outnumbered all the time really really needs to log in during the OCX timezone, and you’ll understand why SoS is considered full. SoS may be slightly outnumbered during other times of the day, but SoS always has blobs on two maps during OCX. TC, on the other hand, averages around 30 during OCX spread across all 4 maps, and that’s being generous. Our “massive TC blob” is 7-10 people during OCX.

And if you’re outnumbered on one borderland during the other timezones, map hop. Your zerg may just be on another map. All 3 servers tend to have a zerg on EB for the majority of the day. FA has a sizable OCX group, but they seem to fade away for the most part after the weekend. SoS has been the Oceanic server since launch, it seems that still holds true.

Bottom line, there are 4 main timezones to consider. NA, OcX, SEA, and EU. Just because you may be outnumbered during the timezone you happen to play in, that doesn’t mean that the opposite of that situation isn’t true during other timezones.

Actually, why people don’t find SOS being a high server able to compete against Full server weird in the first place?

Not that it really matters, a lot of server will open up because many players are now playing HOT than wvw.

I think it is because SoS is OCX heavy while majority of ppl posting here are probably NA in which SoS has much smaller number outside EBG.
