How does Tier 1 wvw differ from Tier 2?

What is the wvw like on your server?

I’ve been through T8 and T2 and this is true, but not in the way you mean.

The militia in T2 can probably destroy anything in T8-6, mostly because everyone in T2 knows that running glass is a bad idea. Most players you meet in lower tiers are going to be glass because lower tier servers are mostly PvE servers and glass is king in PvE.

On Commanders, lower tier commanders are pretty good, but I’ve seen straight up genius thinking in T2 that I’ve never ever seen in a lower tier. Not to mention high tier commanders are a lot better at ZvZ fights, mostly due to the fact that server-wide TS or Mumble is very common and widely used.

I haven’t been in T1 since launch, but from what it sounds like the biggest difference between T1 and T2 is coverage… although T1 did revolutionize a lot of things like field usage. Funny enough fields aren’t commonly used in T8-7 yet.

Does anyone else have any impressions to share?

Organised guild sizes vary quite a bit between tiers.
In T3 they start at 20 and grow from there (20 is rare really). Many servers have 1 or 2 40 / 50 man guild groups knocking about.
T4 you see smaller guild groups, the odd 10 man. For gandara 15 man is the norm but not particularly common for others. Guild groups have been growing recently and the 40+ guild / guild alliance has been popping up. Think all of us have at least 1 by now.

Been too long since I’ve seen T5 and below but FSP claimed they had pretty much 0 organised guild groups. They basically relied on pug commanders and the majority of their population gathered on one spot.

For siege / scouting – Riverside LOVE their siege but they’re a bit of an exception.
Most servers will have at least one scout on just about every structure of note. Give them half a chance and they will siege the crap out of keeps. 5+ ac’s on every door is the norm. Generally one or two will be superior. Defensive trebs and ballistas are quite common too depends on keep / tower. All of this stuff will be refreshed when needed (generally by the person scouting) so it’ll stay up for the day. Quite often despawns at night.
Most servers have some kind of offpeak presence whether its from 1-4am or during the morning with russian guild groups. Countering their 40/50 players who will jump maps with 10 guys is often the key to the match. Taking advantage of your time of strength to get rid of upgrades being key too.
Making life difficult for people trying to take stuff of you is important – sometimes you wont be able to hold it because they outnumber you 4:1 but delaying them as long as possible is important. Letting them zerg through your entire bl within 30 mins is a sure sign your not equipped for this tier

never been to T8, but i guess the lower the tier, the more possibility for you to ninja a keep….

T7 is full of counter zerg groups really t7. Is really well played out atm
