I’ve been playing some WvW with my gf today, and it makes no sense to me, why I get in before her, even when I queue up, after her. How comes this happens?

does it have anything to do with your rank in WvW or?

It’s pretty annoying I’ve been in WvW for like 30 minutes now, and she hasn’t been able to join me yet

ANet has never stated that queues are FIFO. Quite the opposite … they’ve admitted they are random. Search the forum archives if you don’t believe me.

Everything in GW2 is random.

The queues are random? How does that even make sense… Yow.

Not that it matters on BT. Maybe they’re random to convince high pop wvw servers to transfer.
