Well, a lot of people experience lag these days. In PvE, it’s not much a problem: it’s annoying. But in WvW, yes it is a problem.

So if you lag, you must know that your download speed has nothing to do with it. So the biggest is not the best. If you lag, it’s actually because there is a high latency: it’s the time of response that is unusually high.

And regarding that, there is currently a huge fight between a spammer host and other companies with unprecedented levels of hacking.

I’ve had lag issues since past Wednesday. No doubt I’m impacted by this war. On the other hand, not everybody is impacted by that war, explaining that some of you still have a good latency and some others don’t.

So please, don’t blame ArenaNet yet. Wait for that fight to be over, then if you still lag, go ahead and resume. But as of today, the fact is that the Internet is slow (again, in latency, not in download speed) and ArenaNet is not responsible for it.

The skill lag we’re currently experiencing in WvW is caused by overloaded servers at ANet though.

After that, if you still lag, then most likely it’s occurring at ArenaNet level. But while that war is active, no one can know for sure why you lag.

You are right, it’s spammers. All those zombies spamming #1.

So ANET having stone age inadequate servers is actuallly player’s fault that they engage in massive scale pvp in a massive scale pvp mode they created.
Seems legit.

When I opened this thread, I expected to see someone flaming about ram shrines and RMT messages increasing latency in WvW. Pleasant surprise to see this instead.

As someone who works with networking, I can assure you that you are clueless.

I never notice the lag in BL maps, unless there’s a giant zerg war.. the only time it seems to be a problem is in EB when SM is under heavy fire. Skill delay sucks the big kitten
