Or the other t7 mats? I was imagining that most WvW’ers should have a lot of that and fragments; with Dragonite Ore being a bit more rare.

I ask this because since a lot of the prizes at the end of reward tracks seem to advertise that yes, you will get t7 mats and that’s totally awesome. It sorta makes sense in pvp, but I am not sure here. All it really does for me is I get these things stuck in my inventory. You can delete them I guess. Refining them without making ascended gear is a huge waste of gold, and the eaters do help but I imagine delving into pve isn’t everyone’s cup of tea.

The other thing that seems to spamming me is obsidian shards and I really don’t know what to do with that many. I already converted some of them to fulgurite and made a some gold from it but outside of legendaries and pve they’re very hard to make into something useful. I was assuming most WvW players would have an overabundance of karma too, but I could be wrong.

Well, I never open champion bags on a high level toon since low tier materials worth far more than high tier so I never get enough dust to fully feed up my Mawdrey by the end of the day.

Also I don’t take Keeps and SMC often, so Dragonite ore is also hard to come by to feed the Princess.

Empyrean Fragments in the other hand pile up like no tomorrow. Even with the Winter Star, I still have to throw some away every day.

Ah, that is very true. I’ve also started the mid-level character opening bags thing so I don’t that much bloodstone dust anymore.

As for Dragonite, I actually don’t know where it comes from since I don’t capture many keeps since Alpine came back.

Sometimes I let other people kill the camp supervisor because I don’t want the fragments, lol.

Lol I delete more of that stuff and empryal fragments and dragonite than I can count. 1500 of each in my bank and really annoyed that I can’t sell it in the TP

I never use Dragonite, Empyreal or Bloodstone. I’ve got 50 bricks, stones and stars in my bank just in case I ever need them but otherwise, I throw it all out.

I’d be happy if there was some kind of ascended food recipe that required these materials though. Food/Utility food that lasted an hour with slightly higher benefits or something. Considering just about everyone uses food buffs in WvW, it seems to me like it would be an acceptable alternative.

I highly recommend the eaters. Yes you will have to do pve but it’s worth it overall in general. Bricking those mats really isn’t that expensive and if it is for you then just delete them all everytime you cap storage. It’s so easy to get that it doesn’t matter.

@ Justine.6351 I have all 4 of the eaters and it is still pretty annoying. I can only imagine it can only be worse for some since the Star isn’t always available. The Toxic recipes I may give a try.

Another solution is probably storage expander, but I honestly think that’s bordering on extortion given all that junk. =p

My 18m Karma is an over abundance, worse it is a burden.

All T7 materials get destroyed once they reach a stack of 250. Being WvW only I never had a nice backpack to eat that rubbish for me…..

On average I delete 2-3 stacks of T7 everyday. Another wvw player shafted by the pve addicted developers.

i delete all 3 of them now. Its a waste of money to convert them all into their respective crafting mat form….since u don’t need anywhere near the amount that you will be able to make.

Just another trash item that you can’t sell to vendors. honestly i wish i could label them as trash or in a way where i don’t get them anywhere.

I could, you know….get mawdrey and princess and stufff….but do I really want to do alot of farm and boring stuff just so i can get something that allows me to ‘get’ a little farm and do ‘more’ boring stuff? no i do not.

Would be nice if we could craft cosmetic armor skins out of them. I mean a literal set of Bloodstone themed armor.

The asc mats have no other value unless you’re dedicated to crafting asc gear and they just keep piling up if you don’t have the special ‘eater’ things to get rid of the stacks.

I’m sitting on enough ascended materials to craft.... well probably 2 full sets of armor, and a dozen weapons. But I’m completely strapped by Dragonite ore and Bloodstone dust. (Got decent with the emp star thingies though)

My wet dream would be that these where tradeable They would cost me next to nothing to buy in huge quantities.

It seems I’m near allergic to anything in the game that actually rewards Dragonite Ore for some reason, so I never get any at all unless I specifically prop up on some pills to keep me awake and run with SW for a few hours.

Ah well, I haven’t run into anyone else having this trouble, so I guess we need some more ways to make use of them. Personally I think just reducing the drop rate by 0.1 and reducing the numbers needed for all receipts by 0.1 would go a long way toward negating this issue. The whole 100 to craft a bar just feels like numbers for numbers sake.

Allowing us to sell them to vendor would solve this problem… I already sell lots of other gray junk such as spikes or porous bones that I get as loot anyway.

I agree with Cerby that refining them is a horrific waste of gold. It’s 14s to refine 100? I do something similar to what SpellofIniquity does; make a few dozen in reserve so I can craft w/e I want, but due to the absurd leather prices I have held off on that a bit. I generally funnel everything towards selling when it’s like it and craft when things are cheap.

It’s a bit hard for me to understand when I hear people just refine a ton of them that they’ll never use just to hoard those things. It makes little sense since it can be acquired easily anywhere and actually costs a lot of coin when it adds up. To me it’s like having those programs that install something unwanted on you and then try to hold you hostage for a fix. But the ascended implementation always had problems and we’re still feeling the effects. I actually wanted to ask people elsewhere, but I was afraid they’d get offended. Granted, people can play anyway they want— they can buy legendaries and delete them, buy packets of salt, w/e.

@joneirikb.7506 I did try to leave Dragonite as an exception since you only get a couple from capturing Keeps and SM which depending on what you usually do, it will not nearly be as common as camps and towers. In PvE, they come mostly from world bosses which relatively speaking compared to the others is fairly banal content since they’re restricted on a schedule and sitting around with your arms folded waiting for something to spawn isn’t particularly fun. If you do Teq every day, it’s not an issue with the ore. If you’re just going there just for the Ore, then it really sucks because you’re often just trying to go in and out as quickly as possible so you can get back to whatever you were doing.

If you have stacks and stacks of bloodstone dust, you should look into crafting toxic focusing crystals. You can make around ~90 silver per 100 bloodstone dust crafting and selling this stuff.

I open all my reward track loot on a lower level char, so I’m always short on bloodstone dust.

I used an eater on my empyreals, so now I’m always short those. Ascended crafting eats through my mats pretty hard. I get just enough dragonite to get by. I’m about four blocks of bloodstone ahead, not counting what I stashed on a mule a while back when I was champ train running before the boxes were nerfed. I’ve had to break into that stash once or twice, including guild donations. So while I don’t need more bloodstone dust, getting less would eventually drain me.

Im tapped out of blood stone dust and its actually kind of hard to acquire. it mainly comes from opening champ bags. theres alot more uses for it than the other 2 t7 mats

I agree with the OP.

Karma, bloodstone dust, tomes of knowledge and obsidian shards are all over abundant in WvWvW. My inventory is getting so full of tomes of knowledge and of course all my 9 characters (all different professions) have been level 80 for a long time.

You really don’t need so much of them unless you have a really large amount of characters and you want to craft separate set of full ascended + legendaries for them. I doubt that very few players do that.

I have 5 characters with full ascended and enough materials to give my 6th character full ascended set (light/medium/heavy). I own just one legendary weapon (brought the precursor from TP), because WvWvW really isn’t good source of gold and I really don’t like to do any sort of pve farming. I consider this little as I have spent over 4000 hours playing the game, but most of it in WvWvW.

I wish we would have WvWvW reward tracks, which would give us: fractal related materials, such as Vial of Condensed Mists Essence and Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence.

Also maybe introduce WvWvW reward track, which gives 1 piece of ascended crafting material at the end of the track. And we definitely need WvWvW reward tracks, which would give us ascended back items.

Currently the WvWvW reward tracks are filled with lots of garbage items and progression is slower than spvp (why?).

Laurels are the only currency I am constantly in need of since ascended jewelry cannot be crafted and amulets/accessories never seem to drop. Now ascended rings… I have more than one full bank tab for those after equipping all 10 characters with them.

Like many here I have ridiculous amounts of the dust, shards, tomes, karma, badges, etc. I keep on hand 1500 of most crafting materials and have two bank slots dedicated to overflow on the non-TP trade ones just in case. I just toss the stuff now which is often 100+ a play session.

Yea that is my main point. There’s too much junk that can’t even be classified as crappy loot , and these things are just an example.

A weapon takes 5 of each brick to make, as well as the chest piece.
All armor pieces besides the chest piece take 2.

6 weapons + 1 chest piece = 35
5 non-chest armor pieces = 10

45 bricks =4500 of each t7 mat

And that’s assuming you’re making ascended water weapons (lol). Such a endeavor will cost you 1000 gold if not more. It’s unlikely you could ever be bottlenecked by these things.

tl;dr Refining an excess amount of them (more than a stack) is way overkill. Save your bank space for, like, almost anything else.

I think I saw the news for the ascended breather, and then I promptly forgot it existed.

I had a running joke for people tired of being ganked when running to a zerg, and that was to jump underwater since a lot of skills don’t work there— and chances are they don’t have underwater weapons to speak of. Turned out to be hilariously true, especially if you’re a ranger/druid.

Talking about stuff that should be considered trash. Non superior sigils/runes. Can I get an option to make them be considered trash, be put in my oiled bags, and auto sold at vendors with sell trash ? Please ?

The ability to chose what to consider trash in general, so people (other than me) could set bloodstone and dragonite as trash, and auto sell it for coppers. (Or just remove account bound so all my guildies can fill my banks with Dragonite!!!)

Some friends try their luck with the rare ones on the mystic toilet. Idk about about that, I just sell greens to vendor yellows to tp.

To make it worse I have the silver-fed-salvage thing, which have 80% chance of salvaging the godkitten rune/sigil.

Personally, I’m more bothered by the bags that don’t stack. Don’t get me wrong, I’m extremely grateful for their contents – BUT

kitten , do we need 15 different types? Bat, jotun, bandit, icebrood, etc. etc. etc.

Surely these can be renamed something more generic per track and be stacked as one?

It’d be nice if some of the smaller reward boxes were simplified, so you’d get like 1x reward box of a certain, and further down the track you just get 2x reward box from the same track so they stack. The differences in naming only really signify they give better rewards. The bigger chests that give unique rewards can be special and crap, of course.

Funny fact: Sometimes I go to verdant brink to use my crowbars by opening the airship cargos but I always leave with more crowbars than I entered. While it’s not exactly the same thing I find it equally weird.

Quality of life issue with WvW in general – inventory management.

I’d take an option to get silver/copper over more blues/greens/white/grey drops. Keep the 15 different types of boxes plus rank up chests plus daily chests plus rares plus exotics plus standard coin plus heavy loot bags plus black lion chests …lol that’s still way too much… and be done with it on WvW maps.

I’d like to deloot/sell/salvage once at the end of my playtime and be done with it.

It’s funny because WvW was were the poor people played for years, and we wanted something to help offset some of the costs of the upgrades. What was Anet (eventual) response? Remove the coin costs of upgrading keeps, load there bags with junk.

Well to be fair, most of the game dispenses an overwhelming amount of junk so when we get a share of the spoils, it’s a share of the exact same thing. I suppose complaining about what’s wrong with the stuff coming in is actually a good sign since it means stuff is coming in especially when in the past defenders have told me they had less than 10g to their name and this is after selling materials.

It works for the most part because stuff gets broken into materials and those materials have value. And it is also hard to find the balance of good drops, since anything that drops too much probably won’t be valuable. But there are spots where it fails miserably like minor sigils and then we get a bit annoyed.

A good example are ascended rings. If you get a ascended ring with junk stats, it’s literally worse than a blue/green/yellow/orange ring because the later could be salvaged into something useful. Well, you can salvage ascended rings through more pricey and convoluted methods but that’s not nearly as reliable.

Finally, I am aware that things are made deliberately inconvenient so you will buy convenience items. I don’t blame them too much because they have to make money, but you don’t want it to a spot where it really feels like creating problems to sell the solution.
