Think of it like this, the finisher is intended to show off who won the last season. If you don’t continue to win each and every season, you will not retain the bragging rights.

I know this was posted a while back and nothing is ever set in stone but why the change? The idea of the finisher being a trophy for your server till the next server can take it seemed reasonable.

Don’t take this as a complaint as I think it’s awesome either way. I’m just curious why the change was necessary.

I agree. why decide to change it? +1

They realized that the season was far from balanced and they don’t more players to stack on winning servers because of rewards would be my guess. But besides that, people also forget the rewards (bags + karma & gold for capping) they got for multiple weeks because they played on winning servers.

Don’t get me wrong, it probably was a lot of work to win but asking for more rewards because you won an unbalanced tournament is just a big f… you for smaller servers who had to play against you for the last few weeks.

The rewards for everyone should have been better and the finisher should have been permanent for the season.

Huh? This is not temp content. This in character with any number of rewards that are about showing off what happened recently. You will be showing off that you won the previous season, but once a new season starts everyone is back to start. Having the reward for a limited period of time is very different from temp content.

- So what happened ?
- why is the finisher now limited to 250 charges instead of being available till S2 start ?
- Or, will it give me more stacks once I use them all and keep giving me stacks till S2 starts ?

The post you quoted above was likely just poorly stated, as the tone of the words used definitely slants towards it being unlimited until the next season, without specifically saying “unlimited”.

Maybe they think we can’t stomp 250 people until S2.

I highly doubt most people would, maybe the roamers on those servers but the people in the zerg ball will probably have tons left when and if season 2 rolls around.

i stomp 250 people a week.
that being said i was very happy with the season 1 reward. kittens got what they deserved and so much more (lol 1800 gems lol roflcopter)

Maybe wrongly stated, the terms of the finisher in the 2 posts are completely different. The first post stating “Winners will have access to the finisher until there are new winners.” Which translates to the finisher is usable till a new winner is declared vs the next post which you quoted stating “a stack of supply dolyak finishers” which translates to them possibly running out before a new winner is declared.

I may have missed any clarification on why the change was made or if the change was even noted. But the fact is 2 different descriptions of the finisher were posted by Devon within about a month of each other with no clarification between the 2.

I hate to be that guy…but I’m not a huge fan of how things just change with out notice. I would much prefer that something was said on the subject before the change was made to prevent discussions like this. Honestly Devon could have said something like “I just wanted too” and that would have been enough because it was acknowledged.

Like I said, I’m not complaining, I’m pumped to use the finisher! I’m just interested in way the change was needed, is it foreshadowing no season 2?

I hate to be a nitpicker here Zik, but “access to” doesn’t necessarily mean unlimited.

The wording in the Mid-Season report was actually changed after my post.

It seems you may be right and would probably be along the lines of what a Dev response would say. Sadly this should still be a lesson to make sure information is clear before posting. We as players can only go by what they say so if it is not clear, we end up making our own judgement on it.
