Commander on Tarnished Coast [RE]
Greatsword Ranger before it was cool
(edited by Zinthros.6589)
From the Queen’s Jubilee feature preview
Become a master of supply with the Supply Master World vs. World ability line. This line includes benefits like increased supply pick-up speed, Courier Speed when you pick up supply, and a chance to get supply back when you use it!
No! Bad! Supply is one of the elements that works the same way every time, consuming a static amount for a certain amount of work. Increasing capacity AND adding an ability that randomly refunds supply can only serve to imbalance siege weapons and the progression system. As a commander, I would like to see a surrounded keep or tower with X supply actually HAVE X supply in it, instead of randomly gaining 10-40% on that and holding out an extra ten minutes to half hour. Don’t make the amount of supply used to build something RNG!

I’d be excited now if it said “Long awaited fix of many bugs in WvW” instead of supply mastery to be honest. That and they should reset wvw traits whenever there is a new mastery line introduced. Otherwise I’ll just horde my wvw points for a year till they’re done.
It’s not like it’s hard to drain a T3 keep anyways, it’ll be much easier when the defenders can repair with more supplies than the 1500 in their keep.
Since release you’ve been able to leap into Jerrifers slough and solo it, lets put supply RNG in instead of focusing on the real issues.
Eww… RNG is only fun in a disappearingly small amount of cases.
WvW supply is not one of those.
1700 supply could turn into 2000 supply.. yay for siege wars 2!!
a chance to get supply back when you use it!
I read that as you, the player, could find that after you use (10 – 15 max atm), could then get a refund of x supply back. This doesn’t mean that a keep or towers max supply (1700, etc) is going to change. You as Commander, will still have an idea of what your minimum supply is – just that when supply is used, there is a small (and it will be small – this is Anet, after all), amount of supply refunded. It could mean that extra shot of completing the AC/Cata/Ballista/whatever you are building being built that bit quicker. Exactly how is that a bad thing?
As to priorities, bug fixes, etc .. that is all moot! Yes .. we’d all prefer bug fixes done on outstanding bugs. Who’s to say we won’t? They never publicise bug-fixes in the next patch fan-fare, as far as I recall. We all know that they highlight the PvE kitten and then when the patch is released, the notes tell us what they’ve done to balance stuff (usually nerf my 2 characters somehow).
I say Chill and wait for the release notes proper.
Idk if this is legit but that is a horrid idea because it would promote zerg play even more when they game can not handle it as it is.
This should only ever be allowed when you have the outmanned buff.
RNG to supply has existed since launch: the random supply drop off a yak.
This is the defensive/small ops version of it since its otherwise completely unreliable or irrelevant for zerg math.
I’m very confused about what “increased supply pickup speed” is.
At any rate, I wholly support this thread. We’ve got enough RNG elements in our skills. The chance of getting “bonus” supply seems to slap well-planned assaults/defenses in the face.
I’d be much happier with better commander tools (and some love to the /supplyinfo tool) so that we can coordinate more efficiently instead of praying to the RNGods that we have enough bonus supply to get that second or third ram up on an inner keep gate.

please dont…
RNG isnt as bad as stat creep, but its still poor design overall.
the other abilities sound good. RNG sounds lame.

Seconded. Keybind option for /supplyinfo, pretty-please?
I’d agree with OP, but I think it’s reasonable as long as it requires enough WXP points. Right now we already have increased Supply capacity, but even the first tier costs 20 points, so very people are able to or want to chose that.
So that 10-40% uncertainty will likely rather translate to a 1-2% uncertainty.

Exactly what it says on the tin – you physically pick up the supply faster. Which makes it a trait line very dedicatedly created for zerging.
