I stumbled upon the issue that one person (or guild) has to pay for full upgrades, so why not make a NPC that people can donate money to, so keeps can have upgrades bought from that vendor. Just add the option to donate money to the upgrades NPC at keeps, and voila. It’ll solve a major issue of nothing ever being upgraded on casual servers.

Defending upgraded buildings is so much easier, but when you’re forcing a single person to pay the full price for team benefit, it’s not a team effort. Low level players can donate 10 silver so they still contribute to upgrades while higher levels can obviously donate more as they receive more in a siege, or whichever event for that matter.

People seemed to agree with me when I brought it up in WvW chat, so I decided to create the topic.

If you let anyone use this donation vendor what stops people buying stupid or pointless upgrades or less efficient ones, and they might always start upgrades as soon as they take a location ( which isn’t the best thing to do). if we have this donation vendor we will just have the issue of if we should restrict it and how you could do it.
sure in pug servers it would be more beneficial than trouble but in servers with massive guilds it would be a very bad idea

People would abuse it for silly things, and you’d have some newbie starting every single upgrade in some tower that’s cut off from supplies, draining all funds while resulting in nothing. It’s a good idea in theory, but wouldn’t work out in practice.
