Downed hackers

Tell me if this is some sort of bizarre type of lag or a new kind of “hack”: when you down someone they stay in place for about a few seconds at a time, all the while periodically teleporting around at what appears to be random.
Saw an opponent do that ages ago, but it was most definitely not random. The porting went all the way from the tunnel at ****lake tower to the south east spawn, as fast as i could run.
Save the Bell Choir activity!

Yeah, but repeated over and over without creating a clone.

Looked random to me, but I guess they could’ve just done it for the sake of confusion…

I recommend that people go into WvW armed with Fraps, or similar. Record these unusual events and upload to utube, then link it here.
In game report measures are mediocre at best and sending any recorded info. to ArenaNet doesn’t guarantee a fix. The best we can do is educate the community who will in turn place pressure on ArenaNet to do something about it.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

Nice idea although your more likely to be infracted for posting exploits. Anet prefers to pull the wool over our eyes and say their doing something about it.
I seen something like this before. It was a thief we downed. When we attacked it just said invulnerable. If you tried to finish you did the whole animation, but nothing would happen. Then he teleported into a wall, and ran back inside the tower.
Heavens Rage
Well, last night I had an enemy running around with the “downed” marker above his head in Dragonbrand EB keep. I do mean running around. It was a light armor character too, so no Vengence.
I chased him around before he suddenly vanished when I took a screenshot, only to appear on the level above me where he dropped dead. Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen. Should probably look at that screenshot again before I send the report off.
It’s okay! It’s not a hack. Unfortunately I happened to do this the other day. At the time my internet was throttled, but I decided to give it a go. Mid fight in WvW, my client froze, but I was still able to run around. To me, I was still alive and well, but to all my allies on skype, I was downed, but sliding all over the place. They likely hood that the person you saw was hacking is probably really slim; their net was most likely just really shotty.

I can’t say I noticed it, besides thiefs and mesmers going stealth / teleporting away.
But on the subject of downed state, I do think it should be removed, at least from WvW/PvP.
You happen to be on a 2v1 situation, and you manage to kill one of the players. All to see the guy getting back up again while you deal with the other, or to die while trying to finish him due to the second player free hitting you. Specially with all the downed skills, which every class has a away to avoid being stomped at least 1 time with #2.
In PvP / WvW, once you’re dead, you should remain dead. That would completely change 1v2 encounters, Attacking / Defending Zergs, etc.
A lot of the descriptions here are the exact thing that has happened to me once, confirmed by friends on skype. I was unaware I was down, and was simply running from the enemy. What everyone else saw was me teleporting and sliding around in a downed state. It happened just before my net crashed.

I get this issue a lot, because I have a slow internet connection. I’ll be running to a location, see a group of dudes, go “oh kitten” and run.
To me, I’ve run away and escaped.
To my internet, lag has prevented this action from coming across.
To the game, I’ve completely stopped moving and am murdered to death.
When the lag clears, I’m still running, feeling safe, but as my internet starts to handle things as it should, I start taking the hits of damage as I normally would have. Can’t do anything except keep moving, eventually go down, and die. My corpse somehow ends up at the place where I had been running to the entire time, because that’s where people res me at.
Lag makes things all kinds of weird.

I can understand ArenaNet wanting to run things client side to save money/resources but concurrently what it does is place power in the hands of players to modify their script to accommodate speed, teleport, FoV hacks.
What the community should be familiar with is that the game has been out for 6 months now, and the players that perform these types of hacks are legitimate GW2 players that have spent a lot of time and effort in developing their toons and don’t want to get banned, but want to give themselves a distinct advantage.
