As a small scale/solo wvw player. This mechanic truly sucks. I can understand how this is cool for people with set groups etc. But for a solo player, this is among the worst things when fighting multiple opponents and being solo.

I cannot count the amount of times I’ve been fighting multiple opponents only, downing one, dying as I try to finish them off, yes I know that I shouldn’t finish off people while under fire, but the sole fact that you give the numbers the edge in pvp, is in my own oppinion, simply lame.

Yes I know that you will say that I should go play constructed pvp, and that solo / small scale isn’t for wvw. But for some of us, this is what we do pvp for, not all of us likes battlegrounds, we want open space and we don’t want to run in zergs.

I personally would like to see this mechanic removed, it hurts small scale to hell when facing larger numbers.

Yes, I and much of the community wholeheartedly agree.

Downed-State/Ressurections/Revives/Rallies are my No. 1 issue with the game and why it’s PvP is so much less fun than in other games.

But there’s another thread right below this one already discussing the detrimental effect this game mechanic has in WvW.

ANet really needs to consider some of the following changes:

1. Downed-State should carry over Conditions rather than wiping them.
2. Lower downed-state HP
3. Faster “execute” (2 seconds instead of 3)
4. Lower “revive” speed
5. Revision of “Rally” mechanic (shorter tag duration, max. 1 rally per kill or similar)
6. No Resurrections while in combat (as in, rezzing defeated players)
7. Damage should interrupt the revive/resurrection process
8…

Even two or three of those aforementioned changes would make the whole downed state/revive mechanic a lot more manageable and fun.

Indeed, any of those changes would be better than the current system.

The only change that needs to happen is:

When a played is killed, he can’t be resurrected. Downed state is fine the way it is.
