Brag all you want about capturing most of our points and ‘owning us’. In the end, your only doing us a favour. this is what our organised WvW guilds want. Thank you for helping us lower our point gain. We really appreciate it.
Right at this moment, we’re just relaxing not even trying in WvW. You’re all welcome to take some points away. We just need enough point gain just ensure our win.

enough of this garbage.
only 2 of the server matchups are not as onesided as ours.
there is no guarantee that these fairweather players will still be on SoS after this friday
TIERS MEAN NOTHING WHEN THERE ARE FREE SERVER TRANSFERS
rolling over like this is poor sportsmanship.
Already making excuses for your losses when you have over a 100k point lead. Can’t wait to see what happens when you move up a tier.
I haven’t seen any of the 3 servers hack personally.
good fights tonight in EB Maguuma and Dragonbrand. So much sandwiching
I think I have more fun just harassing you guys then killing. I was on my norn mes that kept pulling you off walls and popping warden on your downed players you tried to revive. All good and fun though.

What are you talking about? If we wanted we could grind you into dust all day, every day, and have you zombie quarantined in your spawns again. But we are just messing around now, because we are booooorrrrreeeeeeddd.
As somebody else said, every server has hackers on it. Nothing you can really do about it but report them even if they’re on your own server. I think cheating has actually been kept to a minimum this week. A couple keep glitchers and the odd no-clip flying fool, but otherwise not bad.
All you can really do is report them and eventually they’ll get weeded out.
There’s a storm coming.
if people leave because we go to tier 2 preventing an easy win for them, they weren’t going to fit on the server as it was and is just another case for why free transfers need to stop now, not later.
have you looked at the scores? ALL of the matchups are this one sided this week except for one.
There’s a storm coming.
lol wut?! that’s a bit random
have you been fiddling with quaggan’s?
I was in the team that capped all of SoS borderlands and Maguuma borderlands around 7:00pm GMT to 9:00pm GMT and nobody was hacking. It was basically player versus door.
It wasn’t until 11:30pm GMT that SoS fielded any real numbers and we did not have a commander at that time. Consequently, PRX led SoS completely rolled us in Mag BL whilst voice comms were in disarray. They began attacking our garrison after I went to bed. In the half hour before that they flipped both keeps, all north supply camps and north west tower and then during the garrison assault they all left the map. I have no idea why. They could have taken garrison easily in my humble opinion.
The only reason I can see for doing this is that someone in SoS comms told them to stop painting green dots. I’m guessing so SoS points delta gets lower and they don’t have a meteoric rise in the rankings which is a problem when you are still experiencing server growing pains. It happened to us against Yaks/Ehmry and we weren’t ready for Fort Aspenwood.

Thought I’d just say my piece for this round of WvW. I am with SoS, and while it is a tad one-sided atm I have had some good matches against Mags and DB players while roaming. Looks like we will win this match-up this round, good luck to Mag and DB in their coming rounds.
Not every guild pulled back, but some of them have. I thought it made for great Wv3 last night. DB pushing their map, Goombas pushing their map. We took almost all of DB BL back, went to MG and started pushing there. DB recapped most of their map right after we left. That is awesome for everyone.
It has nothing to do with the possibility of losing tier 2, it is so we can build better relationships with each other. I can’t wait for the next 2 weeks. It’s going to get interesting!
The Storm is coming.
our commanders r leading us for nothing but supply run, coz we r learning from all those guys transfered from HoD or other top servers. We need to step up, not jump up.
rise to tier 3, we can knock FA or TC easy, but, against HoD, CD, BG or IoJ? I dont see a chance. Tier 4 players are tier 4 players. we have so many nonlvl 80 player in WvW, they need to know that they really cant survive in WvW even in big zerg.
anyway, we r slowing down, and trying not to push hard, its more fun

Hi folks.
In the interest of allowing the worlds to have a place to discuss their matches, we’re going to re-open this thread one last time.
Let me be perfectly clear here first though – we have taken the time to clean this thread up, and trust me, there was a lot to be cleaned out.
These threads are for discussing WvWvW calmly, constructive, and without personal attacks. If you can’t show good sportsmanship, refrain from calling players or guilds out on what you perceive to be cheats or unjust actions, and be polite, this thread is not for you.
I have re-opened this thread, but note that it comes with a caveat… players ignoring the Code of Conduct will not be given a free or lenient path. If you see someone breaking the rules, report the post (click the little black flag in the bottom right-hand corner of the offending post). Do not be the person that violates the rules by responding in kind.
With that, this thread is now open – remember to play fair and play nice. Failure to do so will result in the permanent closure of this thread.
Thanks!

Close between Maguuma and Dragonband. Dragonband gave one heck of a fight in Eternal Battlegrounds late tonight.
Indeed. It was great to see so much resistance in Oceanic time. I can only comment on the DB BL as thats where I spent the majority of my time (minus a few minutes for JP in EB) and I must say the fights were a lot of fun. Unfortunately we (sos) were very disorganised and half-hearted about the whole affair – another victim of one-sided matchups I would guess, which was very disappointing.
You would think that we would take this opportunity to get more organised and practice some of the tactics we will need to develop in order to compete at the higher tiers. I’m sure there was some organisation going on at times, but it certainly wasn’t communicated to the community as a whole. Something we need to learn from the Mag’s methinks.
i don’t know how we can organize sos though. we have a lot of people with commander tags who just like to have them to have them, no to actually help run the game. we even have a few who refuse to work with each other.
moving to tier 3 or tier 2 isn’t going to change this, or the inevitability of people leaving the server in disgust due to this situation.
there is nothing wrong with buying your own commander tag, but if you have no intention of helping the other players in the area attempting to take/hold objectives or are unwilling to work with established commanders that have been on the field for over a month already, turn the tag off please.
While I quite enjoyed the battle at DB Garrison today, (40+ kills from flinging people off cliffs is beyond enjoyable :P) I wasn’t impressed to find out the rumors that Maguuma and SoS are double-teaming DB are true. Though I accept that any tactic is a valid tactic, and will accept defeat as graciously as possible, I’ve certainly lost a lot of respect for both of them.
Good luck in your next matches.
-Look, look with your special eyes!
-My Dragonbrand!
You don’t realize the number of times false accusation of other side double teaming against you happen in WvW in every tier and every match. Its mostly not true. Its more likely that your opponents saw a place for some easy points and simpy took it without much thought to the overall strategy. You also assume each side operate with a single mind. There are many people on a server doing their own thing ignoring what the main group is doing
For a number of days there were advice given to leave DB alone. But seems like after DB started making trouble in Maguuma borderlands and taking keeps, all bets were off.
-Maguuma
We of maguuma do not make alliances with enemy servers. Loose talk and false accusations are entertaining to see though.

From SoS point of view from early this morning.
After owning the entire EB. Maguuma started to take back their towers and keeps. Had some fun battles there. Let them take back their area. Then put the breaks on their zerg once they hit wildcreek.
So Maguuma decided to go hit Dragonbrand’s side of the map (which we currently owned). Had a few skirmishes with them there before we noticed Dragonbrand starting to take stuff back. We decided to mostly abandon the towers and keeps at the Dragonbrand side of the map to simply let Maguuma and Dragonbrand fight.
After a while we were back at Mendons fighting Maguuma when we saw our keep being attacked. We first thought it was Maguuma, but to our surprise it was a huge zerg of Dragonbrand that went straight for our keep. Not even Maguuma dared to try such a bold tactic.
I pretty much logged off after helping fend Dragonbrand away from SoS keep. I can safely assume those left didn’t take too kindly to having the keep directly attacked.
The simple explanation is. You guys poked the beast. Nothing double teaming about it.
By the way, for those on Maguuma wondering how I got into your db borderland hill keep, its no hack, there’s a little path from our spawn into the keep that I pointed out I believe 2 weeks ago, shall I take your orb out again in 2 minutes?
Admittedly I didn’t show where the entrance to said path is.
From spawn to the inner gates of a keep? I find that difficult to believe. I think it would happen a lot more if that were intended behavior.

Why would SoS ally with anyone this week?

This is an exploit and you should be banned for doing it. Speaking as an Maguuman.
I won’t say any details of the exploit myself, but I tested it in SoS Borderlands (our SE spawn) and could see a path all the way to the East Keep once I was up on the edge of the map. I immediately way-pointed back to spawn.
We’ve been wondering how Dragonbrand has been getting into the Keep, thought it was hacks, and now we know about the map exploit. It IS an exploit and we will continue to report people we catch using it, and now that we know how it’s achieved we’ll be actively discouraging our own server from using it.

I have to aggree after today when maguuma and SoS were attacking garrison at the same time from differant sides. attacks started same time and both pulled back at the same time. Then only an hour or two later to see them do the same at the hills and watch SoS break into the north gate and inner then leave without killing keep lord and watch maguuma go into the gates SoS just broke open to claim it. It did seem like they allied However it could possibly been for those two attacks. It just sucks durring both attacks we had the useless outmanned buff.
I was not in that battleground, but based on my experience with Maguuma I can infer what happened.
We use voice chat, and as such we get frequent updates in real time. Someone some where is always keeping us up to date on where the SoS and Dragonbrand forces are. My guess is that Maguuma knew SoS was attacking you guys and decided to take advantage of it and see if they could snipe the keep, and it sounds like they succeeded. It seems like Maguuma wiped SoS from behind and claimed to keep for ourselves, which sounds like something we’d do.
Double teaming happens in ALL match-ups, and quite often teams A and B will be teaming up on C on one map while A and C will be teaming on B in another, while B and C will be teaming on A in yet another map. Each team makes tactical decisions based on rapidly changing dynamics.
Obviously the defending team wants to keep their stuff, and will defend against an attacker. The third team may take notice of a large siege and decide to try to snipe it. It’s even a viable strategy to “help” a team take a fortification, only to take it yourself shortly afterward because the upgrades are now all reset and they’ve no siege built in it.
Maguuma have been using this tactic all week. They come in from behind to attack the same keep while the other two servers been fighting each other, hoping to sneak cap it while the two hostiles are too busy to realize what have happened.

It does suck when you’re being attacked by both worlds at once, but such is life. People shouldn’t “lose respect” for other servers when it happens, because it happens all the time. You can’t possibly tell me that Dragonbrand stands by honorably while two other servers fight each other. The only way to do that is to not play.
I would just like to say that no matter what borderlands you’re in. The winning server should always be the target by both the losing servers. Any time you’re capping the 3rd place server’s stuff as the second place server, you’re wasting your resources. If both the bottom servers attacked the main server, the main server is now losing that 500 point lead. Even if its allowing all 3 servers to stay close at least it means everybody has a chance.
This is usually what causes those great matchups and close runs in points. The two losing servers know that their target needs to be the winning server. Chances are they already own the majority of the map in every BL otherwise they wouldnt be winning. And very very seldom does capturing the 3rd place server’s points even out that score. It simply lowers the amount that the 1st server is beating you by per tick. That’s not making progress, that’s just losing slower.
Anyways, just my two cents.

We’ve been doing it since Henge did it to us the very first day of WvW. There are certain tactics that servers love, and that is one we absolutely adore.
There’s nothing more satisfying then pissing off both opposing servers at the exact same time.

But that’s the thing, it’s exactly that: your two cents. If you want to lose respect for someone that disagrees with an opinion, I suppose that’s your prerogative. Either way, it hardly matters in this match. There is no way either of the two lower servers would ever come close to winning.
Actually, it’s been the tactic of some losing worlds to specifically attack the other losing world. I would consider it to be perfectly valid for the simple reason that sometimes you will, for whatever reason, come up against a world that completely outperforms the other two worlds. In such a respect, the tactically-sound idea would actually be to obviously exploit any weaknesses in the top world when they pop up, but also to actively fight the other losing world, so at the end of it, your rating either won’t be affected or may actually go up a small amount. This means that next week, when that world goes up a bracket, your world is ready and raring to go for a more balanced fight in the same bracket.
To give an illustrative example, SoS lost against FA last week – in the end, it was much closer than it originally looked and our rating actually went up by about 32 points. That said, even when we were losing by a considerable margin, because of the gains we had made against Maguuma too, we were in no danger of losing rating and were only at risk of dropping a ranking place because of the bracket above (that FA’s win propelled them into) being significantly higher in terms of rating. The week before, again, despite being beaten soundly by TC, because of the gains made against GoM, we held our rating (a <1 increase to be precise) and ranking.
We’re certainly not the only world that has done this and, to be honest, I think where a world is consistently doing this and keeping their rating very even, that’s probably a good indication that they’re actually pretty well-balanced and belong about that point in the rankings and that the rating system’s done its job well. It’s only because you’re dealing with a small subject pool of 24 competitors (and to a small extent, the timezone difference meaning some worlds may be stronger than others but that doesn’t show in the final points), that despite a world seemingly fairly stable in their rating and ranking, the worlds they come up against can be disproportionately stronger or weaker than them. This naturally leads to scores being all over the place and huge ratings changes, because there isn’t such a gradual slope upwards in terms of skill/activity. But worlds that can face that and still come out very close to their previous rating probably are actually about where they should be.
That all said, obviously transfers have mixed it up for SoS this week and, with no derision intended, I’m genuinely looking forward to the reset on Friday/Saturday and fighting in a bracket that will probably closer match our new level. Or actually being in WvW full stop, because it’s not really been that much fun this week for my guild’s usual play-style.

Make it real WvWvW and add the EU and US servers in a mixed pool
What would be interestign is if the combined the EU and NA servers to make 1 team vs. 2 other teams. Say SOS EU & NA VS. MAG EU & na VS. DB EU & NA, that would be fun, but they would have to really raise the pop cap which I don’t think they can.

Blah. Day time is really slow and empty. There’s really nothing to do. Capping supplies isn’t my idea of entertainment. I still don’t know what to do with all my karma.

GG’s SoS and DB, it was a fun week.
GG’s SoS and DB, it was a fun week.
The overall score is not a good indication of how fun this match has been throughout the week during NA prime time hours. I always had an instant queue on one of the maps (on SOS) and there were always really good battles on both offense and defense.

Agreed. No matter how much qq and drama there was, there were fun battles to be had nearly around the clock, and if there wasn’t, a 5 man team could start one. Though I wish that we had met under different circumstances, this match up has certainly been enjoyable.
Good luck to Maguuma and SoS in your future matches.

Good point.
The score was irrelevant to the amount of fun I had this week (Maguuma).
Too bad others need a big winning number to be happy.
NSP player here. I’m curious about Maguuma’s night presence. Here’s hoping they can compete with DH at night because someone needs to split the map with them from 1am to 11am EST.
AKA: Darkshines, Schroedingers Mesmer
We have a night presence, but we’ve never played Darkhaven before, so we have no idea how it will do against theirs.
