I’m new to Maguuma, and have been learning a lot about WVW. So far, our tier is having a lot of fun. My Warrior class is now level 67, and I’m now almost rank 30. I love the competition, but I hear Maguuma commanders talking about how Dragonbrand guilds are planning on transferring away to another server. I’m asking that you don’t, because if there are no one to fight, then it’ll get boring.

The other two servers in T8 got new guilds to transfer to them and now they outnumber us on every map <:(

Meh, the playerbase of db is brought down by these players who will not engage in pvp unless they outnumber you by more than 2:1.

Its boring to fight this realm, I welcome the fact a lot of them will split up and divide the collective suck. Leaving players that want to fight.

The problem is that the guilds that would leave are just going to leave DB with less people to fight against except in the SEA timezone.

And the SEA timezone is goijng to keep DB in T3 no matter how many guilds leave. So DB will still be in T3 and it’ll be even worse.

What needs to happen is NA Prime on DB needs to be built up so that it is worth fighting. Because DB is not going lower than T3.

From what I’m hearing, their sea guilds are moving with their NA to HOD. I suspect DB as a server will be going into free-fall for the next few weeks.

I don’t think its possible. Someone from that server would be able to say better but I believe that the vast majority of their SEA is militia and pugs, not guilds. So even if the SEA guilds do leave they’ll still have massive SEA presence and still be able to keep up the Glicko.

I could be wrong but I don’t see it happening. If the SEA guilds and NA guilds move to HoD all that’s going to do is to push SBI out of T3. So then T3 will be HoD, Mag and DB.

Dragonbrand is a t3 server that should have dropped to at least t6 many times. They are hard carried by their morning pvdoor crew. All their skilled players have transfered off the moment they were locked in t3. They always come up to t2 then implode, thanks to a certain person’s credit card.

It wont be long till HoD is in tier 3. Just have to hope DB falls fast.

DB will drop. It will provide a Glicko boost to Mag, and whoever their third server is during their long bleed, but they are losing players too rapidly to stay in T3 for long.

Don’t worry, DB will bandwagon up again in a few months. It is almost like HoD and DB take it in turns these days.

Magumma: King of the (nobody to) Fights Tier

The fairwheaters transferred from DB to YB a few weeks/days ago. Looks like the reason for the bandwagon was to have gvg and “fights” on T2.

Anyway this is a great gem sink for the game. Servers keep dieing and ressurecting making the bandwagon from server to server permanent.

I can attest to the HoD gains. Their numbers in WvW have definitely been plussed up this week. We in Darkhaven are getting steam rolled like never before.

It has been well known and publicly shown that Maguuma and SBI decided to 2v1 DB. DB tried to get more WvW centric players into its slots, but unfortunately the PvE population kept more people from getting on the server the same way that FA could stack themselves. Maybe the guys moving to other worlds from DB can get what they are looking for. Personally I thought moving from BP wouldn’t pan out, but did so to stay with my friends. Not moving again, just bailing on WvW in general. Wont invest in the expansion if things don’t change. However, once again, thats just my own choice…

SBI is not 2v1’ing anybody. We’re just going after the weaker target. Until Anet builds in some incentive to attack the stronger server that is the way it is going to work.

Regarding the whole DB losing guilds. I think that’s dumb. DB is a natural server choice to build a high ranking WvW server around. They have a naturally strong SEA presence and that is not going to change.

All these servers kittening about overnight coverage, well DB has it!

I believe a fairly sizeable guild is in the process of moving from DB to HoD right now. I think their goal was to get away from T3. Strange that they are transferring to a server that will most likely end up right back in the tier they evacuated, probably in part due to their transfer.

This is a major problem. There should be no way DB is losing the numbers they have been losing, and still remain at full status.

That’s because you cannot trust the listing of servers saying full or not. If 300 people left, it should immediately drop, but it’s not yet registered or needs a larger sampling of population to change. Makes no sense.

Sounds like inter-guild politics got the better of db. It’s going to be a while before db gets put in its proper tier, happy hunting.

Inter guild politics? Not really. The entirety of Dragonbrand’s WvW population is transferring and they are planning on going to the same place. When PvE population is taken into account for server population even with megaservers making PvE servers irrelevant it puts the hurt on servers with a higher PvE to WvW player ratio.

It seems Dragonbrand wants to combine it’s WvW population with the WvW population on a server that has fewer slots taken up by PvE players.

I’ve only heard of 1 guild planning on separating from the major group and they went to Yak’s Bend.

Rumor mill says it’s along the lines of 18 guilds. 18 guilds going to HoD.

They are already transferring away. It seems like people are slowly filtering into YB from DB from what I can tell.

I’ve seen two from [BLNT] on YB for example. Not sure if scouting or in the process of moving? Just glad I don’t have to deal with 10 thieves jumping me at spawn any more. Also seeing a lot more unfamiliar commander tags I assume are from DB doing guild raids and popping up during previously slow times, too.

Mag will just have to settle for beating up dead servers until people quit fairweathering. Or until they somehow come to T2…

Im on DB and WvW frequently. I haven’t heard of any one going to YB. The two choices were NSP or HoD . They were supposed to pick one , but I haven’t heard the final decision yet.

as a former DBer, as far as I know, the SEA guilds like [NNK] and [AZ] are staying with DB, but the larger NA guilds that are still on DB are leaving to HoD. my buddies on DB claimed that DB has been bleeding WvW guilds over the last couple weeks, but cannot recruit due to the constantly full world status, which they blame on the PvEers, so they looked for a server with a better apparent WvWer vs. PvEer ratio.

The SEA guilds are great. I just recently was following [NNK] along and was in TS. I couldn’t
quite understand him but i could tell from the tone of his voice that he was having fun in spite of the odds. It was a fun run. Im kinda surprised that they are staying after having to re-cap everything every day though.

Borliss Pass didn’t get any transfers… We got some ancient players who quit long ago back when the news of the beta hit.

You guys have plenty of players, way more than us, but SF has a ton of up levels and a ton of fair weathers who quit after they die twice.

I’ve been on DB recently and now to 6 months ago we have really dropped. I mean we’re barely getting 30 people on our OWN borderland. we don’t have the numbers to do anything but have skirmishes and then a kittening huge Mag zerg come through and wipe us out. We’re honestly dead when the only thing I can do is escort caravans to garri and build up defenses only to lose it in the middle of night because 0 people are online. right now Stormbluff and Maguuma are basically tag-teaming us.

Your NA and OCX population is practically gone. Most of it went to HoD, some of it to YB. Your SEA is still as strong as ever; you were ticking almost 600 when I looked earlier today.

Their SEA is down to about 50% of what it was since they last bandwagoned. Probably less. It doesn’t take many people to hit 600 ppt against noone.

right now king of maguuma xushin is talking to king of sbi bannock to push db hard these next couple weeks. We want them out of this tier as soon as possible so we can get fights again. King of DB grimaldi pushed for all db guilds to go to hod and most of them did.

Mixed. I’d say the people that have been here the longest aren’t happy, because we know the inevitable outcome. It’s not like we haven’t seen it twice before. Those that haven’t been here forever seem pretty happy with the influx.

Personally, it doesn’t really affect the way I play anymore since I’m primarily a zerg busting/havoc/small group/solo roamer. If we get pushed into a higher tier it just means more for me to fight, and if (when) there’s another exodus and we tumble back down through the tiers, more to fight again.

Question for those watching DB. as of noon pst 4-23 DB is at FULL status again, any ideas who moved in?

I just don’t tend to have the time I once did to put into it. (Coupled with my general disdain for Anet lately). That being said, when I get a wild hair, I tend to have a ball roaming.

I want Anet to fix this, dragonbrand server reads full, no new guilds can transfer to the dragonbrand server after losing 18 or more guilds over the last month or so, dragonbrand was very high, then went to full after losing 18 or more guilds, thats over 400 accounts, they left because sbi and maguuma sided together against dragonbrand and its stayed that way for a month and a half, it was never fair and led to dragonbrand losing all there guilds, to add insult to injury the dragonbrand server reads full so no new guilds can transfer to dragonbrand to make up for the massive amount of guilds that left, the only other servers that read full are tier 1 servers, dragonbrand is not full, anet needs to fix this, a lot of damage has been done, this needs to be fixed sooner then later

It’s full because the server is loaded up with PvE players. It’s named Dragonbrand, so new players see the name and stack it. Happens with any “cool” sounding server names, such as Darkhaven, Blackgate, etc.

Anet can’t fix it. Either a server is at capacity or it isn’t. And the reason those guilds left isn’t because of some perceived 2v1 against DB from the other two T3 servers… they left because DB was constantly full and it was no longer possible to bring anymore players over. The recent 75% off sale basically sealed your fate.

DB has no choice… at least 70% of our NA primetime guilds transferred off, including some long time DB standers. We can’t queue a map like used to anymore and i don’t know how far down we’ll go.

Yep. So the only thing server matters for is wvw, yet it is based on the general population while megaservers make it hard for people to encourage their PvX population to help in wvw. Whatever though, this makes Anet lots of money.

And lol, if a 2v1, aka a normal bit of wvw, and coming in 2nd for a few weeks can destroy a server then there wasn’t much to speak of. What about those t4 servers that never stood a chance when they got tossed into t3 constantly?

It would be best attributed to the “full” status. DB needed a way to arm themselves, but were denied a way to.

I still don’t know why they leave. Fights were good over a month ago. I had fun in this game. I still have a lot to learn, and I can’t do that without trail and error with my fights.

SBI/Mag never planned 2v1ing DB initially. SBI was scrambling to maintain glicko while it worked on moving some guilds. DB had the most glicko to shed. Yes, the full status sucked but DB had enough NA guilds still to enjoy fights and a SEA to keep them in T3 but someone has an ego so his dream of another push to the top was fading on a full server.

And lets be honest. Loosing LUN made your NA better.
