So, there’s been a number of posts. EB puzzle, griefing etc etc

But isn’t the topic title THE thing that is creating the most issues for people?

Obviously you are supposed to prevent the opposition from getting to the end, any sensible person understands this.

The use of siege tho, in that particular area is so disproportionate that any half-assed player can hold off a mass of people with minimal effort.

A warrior, a guardian, and an elementalist walk into an open field…
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”

While siege is pretty much a guaranteed “keep the other servers down” tool, it’s also just about as overkill as having 15-20 people camping the puzzle. Good job on keeping the other two servers from getting more blueprints, but I have to break it to you; you’re likely tying up more resources in the puzzle than you’re keeping from the opposing servers. Your numbers and siege equipment would probably be put to better use in the real battle (Borderlands, EB). Anyone who griefs the puzzle with siege equipment and 15-20 players isn’t there strategically; they’re there because it’s fun to destroy other players that are too preoccupied trying to jump up the little ledges.

Getting rid of siege in the jumping puzzle is tough but possible. Arrow carts need to be placed where they can see the ground so that they can shoot there. That also means that players can target the arrow carts. If the players can target the arrow carts there are a couple of skills that do not require line of sight to hit a target that will work to destroy them. An example of this is the mesmer greatsword phantasm skill that summon underneath a target. The trouble then becomes getting the target and destroying the siege.

They really should put another mystic font between the dark room and the arena though to make the strategy less viable.
