yes, it’s common for new players to focus on Eternal Battlegrounds, and also players who want constant fighting.
the Borderland maps are more important for PPT, so the players who understand the scoring system better (and actually care about it) spend more time there.

It’s because of the inherent disadvantage on an enemy borderlands that your home borderland and EB are mostly populated by pugs. The former is ironic given the almost inevitable 2v1 you’ll receive.
