EOTM Spy (fix the yellow dot)
Then tell your guild leader so he can kick this member or you can just leave the guild.
Its not any more complicated than that.
I have no evidence to prove whether he is really doing that or not so nothing much can do cause it just suspect and its not fair to others aswel.
But the yellow dot should not be showing in the eotm map.
Dawdler, Im sugesting a change on it. Not avoid it just leaving.
The game is bugged its not complicate if you just quit the game.
Its not bugged, its working exactly as intended. Anet just dont think of WvW/EoTM is worth considering when implementing PvE features. Thats a whole other matter. Good luck trying to get it fixed.
@JasonLeong
WvW & EotM has color teams fighting on the maps.
Green, Red, and Blue teams.
If the Yellow Dot is a Commander Tag…only your Color team can see it.
The other 2 Color teams can’t see it.

I believe he’s speaking about the “guild member on the map but not in party” yellow dot, not the yellow commander tag.
Ya. Im saying the new feature for guild.
The yellow dot that show your guild mate in the same map.
Although it stated not in the same instance but actually it is in the same map.
You test in EoTM you will know the problem.
(I know what is a Tag and what is a guild member yellow dot)
use counter intel, make fake movements with cannon fodder groups while main is untagged.
BE clever use the yellow dot to know what spy is spying, dont talk in TS either for the main group nor map chat (usually a get a untagged guild to do main job).
Large PvE guilds are on pretty much every server

My bad…it’s a misunderstanding…hope I didn’t offend you.
Let me offer this suggestion then:
If PvP has a Dishonorable flag:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dishonorable
Why can’t WvW have one?
Not Implemented
Anti-Troll – WvW Dishonor Flag
1) Let the WvW community of players flag the player(s) they think are Trolls.
2) Put limitations on how this flag is applied to prevent abuse.
3) Then decide on what the Dishonor flag does to these Trolls.
It’s not just EOTM.
I’ve seen guildie yellow dots who are on opposing servers show up on my map.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.
My gut says ANet is pulling the plug on Server Based WvW.
Megaserver is replacing the Base Map Mechanic.
This is just one of the many issues that we’ll encounter as we secretly migrate over.
Seriously…It’s not broken…it’s working as intended.

@Diku
What Anet need to do is remove the yellow dot on WvW.
For what to use the yellow dot if they are on opposite.
Ya alot of people is using the guild to spy then switch nonstop
Funny thing is yesterday I got mad and kitten the people in guild chat then today I receive a kick cuz they say its (drama) and because I didnt rep in eotm after they refuse to do something on it.
Ya force me to rep a spy guild let people use on me?
Well bad experience and the guild is a joke.
For your info that guild is (venture of the mist) EoTM. LAME!

See, the problem resolved itself and Anet can give themself a pat on the back for a non-bugged implementation.
Sorry but -1 here. If you have a spy, that’s a guild issue. The ability to see all guild member is a positive change and has come in rather handy in various facets of the game. This change should remain in place.
De Mortuis Nil Nisi Bonum.
Multi-server guilds working across the map on all sides has always been an issue in EotM that I assume most regular players are aware of, the yellow guildie dots just make it easier. That is how some of the mega Edge of the Mists farming guilds like JUST & Venture of the Mist can coordinate their peaceful little ring around the rosey k-train maps. While it highly discourages me from playing there for all the kittenfooting around you can always try to switch maps or find one of the zerg busting server tied bag farming guild tags to follow around instead like HK which can be a lot more fun. I never thought multi-server guilds were a good idea for this game anyways but can’t seem to be helped with all the megaserver junk getting tied together now.
The best thing you can do is avoid being in one of those guilds if it bothers you but then you’ll still get stuck on maps where others are doing it sometimes so then I would suggest going to play real WvW where it wont happen as often. The positives for seeing guild members across the map far out weigh the negatives but might speak volumes for those upcoming WvW changes.

@JasonLeong
Sorry to hear you got treated that way. The yellow dot you speak about really worries me.

I realy like gw2 community because they are very pacient and acceptive comparing to other games i´ve played.
But this is obviously totaly not working as intended.
You see the yellow dots for guilds are made for pve maps, they don’t NEED to be implemented on all maps, its not “all or nothing” you know? They could program so that the dots wouldn’t appear on EoTM.
The dots are something to help guids communicate and enjoy guild activities more easily, and thats good.
But eotm is people vs people and makes no sense we being able to see the enemy team.
This is obviously screwing up strategical aspects of the eotm gameplay, anet doesn’t wants that, IF they wanted, they would make the map revealed so the strategy would be totaly based on seeing the enemy, like chess per example. And reading all this denial of this blatant fact is realy "wtf?!?!’’ for me…
I know you guys are caring and pacient people and you love the game, but bugs can’t be forgiven and treated this way, they have to be hated.

This is this almost game breaking & defeats the purpose of “do not give away our location”. Why?
- If you are on any server and happen to be on the same map (WvW OR EOTM) you WILL show up as a yellow dot on the minimap (even to the extent that you will show up as a semi-transparent yellow dot for those on a different instance of EOTM with something similar to “This player is in a different instance of this map.”)
- This yellow dot can be seen by anyone/everyone in the guild who is in the same instance/map likewise for those in a different instance of the map
- This is wrong and should not be happening as it is a dead give-away to where the enemy position is (typically EOTM as everyone follows ‘the’ tag) thus I consider map manipulation for those handing out enemy position/movements via knowing where this ‘tracking dot’ is at all times
- Please deactivate the yellow dot in WvW/EOTM
I would not help to fix the yellow-dot. With F2P-accounts and a lot of people owning multiple occasion-accounts anyone that want to spy can do so.

You are mistaken. Its a bug and fixing it WOULD help.
Despite other ways of exploiting the system, every exploit method must be corrected, even if it needs to be corrected one by one. Each one of those fixes HELPS to a larger cenario where you can more and more often have a nice gaming experience.

It took ANET 3 years to figure out the yellow dot thing (yes they have been talking about it for that long) and you think it is some easy fix for them to turn it off in a certain kind of map? I am pretty sure it is an all or nothing option for them at this point and very likely some changes coming to the game are going to make it a moot point soon anyways. So yes, I would rather have spying yellow dots than nothing at all and guilds that care should be working double time to get all their players on the same world (or not seeing as how everything might be going to change with the upcoming big WvW patch).

ANet is in the process of converting WvW Base Map Mechanic into Megaserver in my opinion.
Maybe Megaserver/Guild based?
EotM is being heralded as the success due to large population playing there because nobody likes the New Desert BL imho.
This is just one of the many issues that we’ll encounter as we secretly migrate over.
ANet is designing WvW to be more PvD & Megaserver/Guild based is what I believe.

Back to the discussion…
ANet…please fix this un-intended bug as you secretly migrate us off the Current Base Map Mechanic.

EotM is a success because that’s where the PvE’rs are. And as you have been told, if you WvW, you are actually are into PvE.
