Before I get massively trolled, let me say that I’m not commenting about the mechanics in EOTM. Do I like how it’s littered with PvE nonsense? No. It gives it some flavor but yes, I think it’s a bit over the top. What I mean is, the day that WvW was decided to be a 3 way battle between independent servers, it was doomed to coverage warfare. 3 faction warfare has been successful in a lot of games before and EOTM does this in a sense. To accommodate so many people, you would need massive, massive maps as well as restricting mobility (no way points or fewer waypoints). Guilds pledging allegiance or players to one of the 3 factions would have done a lot for coverage imbalance instead of having this tier based system.

Would it be a super zerg meta? No, it wasn’t in other games because maps were large and you absolutely had to split forces effectively to cover the map. It’s been done right before and I can’t help but think EOTM is a very subtle experiment to see if this would be viable in the distant future. Thoughts?

PS: I’m ignoring the flood of qq about supply draining, distracting people from being in real WvW, etc. Imo, ppt is rather pointless when the system is severely flawed.

You’re thinking that people will care about defending objectives in the first place but what if people wouldn’t care about them and just blob from champ to champ like a train?

Your idea of how could something work its awsome. Bigger maps should work the way you said spliting the zergs but EoTM is definitely not the example of this.

Other games don’t experience the amount of both connection lag and skill lag that GW2 servers display on a daily basis, I can honestly say I’ve never seen worse.

Imagine these GW2 servers trying to handle larger map populations? Meltdown.

ALL IS VAIN.
PvP modes are the “endgame” in all MMOs.
Stop failing at PvE, and fix WvW/SPvP. Thank you.

Imagine these GW2 servers trying to handle larger map populations? Meltdown.

Honestly I never had any lag in gw2. I am even hosting a separate server while i play.

Evil is evil. Lesser, greater, middling…makes no difference.
The degree is arbitrary. The definition’s blurred.
If I’m to choose between one evil and another, I’d rather not choose at all.

I would love to see factional play as a resolution to the population and coverage imbalance. The first thing I saw in EOTM was a total communication clusterkitten. It is hard enough to get 200 people you are some what familiar with into a VOIP and operating effectively. Let see 1k in coordination. Show me that and I am game. I would love to see massive organization and the effect it would have on a huge battlefield. I would take two weeks of vacation from work just to participate in that scale of a fight.
