ETA on WvW's death
they tried and they patched ( eotm map , wvw masteries ) but unfortunately one of these patches was shoot in the foot …..
eotm was good alternative but became main wvw map for many players ( the first diamond legend : 10000 rank became in eotm , coincidence ? i don’t think so ) , because of faster rewards and great fun in all levels ….
this hilarious situation becoming more funny when the seasons start and all people login to eotm and not to wvw to help their servers , because you know they will complete the achievements in eotm too …. bingo

since they made AC´s very OP the WVW is a boring/annoying place and since than the population was dying
i know wvw is designed so even the worse casual clicker can feel like a hero with spamming aoe while blobbing but this patch nailed it
now the horrible players sit in all the towers and feel like superheros and wait even hours for an zerg
just ugly
best times was the 1 day matches the first 2 weeks after release – noone cared bout siege or tower upgrades cause noone could pay this and ppl just fought everywhere
eotm is a step back to this and its fun – would arenanet remove now all the siege in eotm it could be even more fun^^

25 men guild run ( Dawn ) with 2 randoms ( me and one ele from votf guild ) took AM T3 GARRISON under a kitten load of sieges ( acs , trebs , catas , trebs , everything ) in prime time after 2 hours of fight against the whole server. fun ? a lot …. rewards ? their wp and the feeling of the fight.
all people in sieges had masteries and all the sieges was superiors …..
i don’t want hear again for superior sieges . a guardian on the ram can create 103% protection and he is taking 0 damage from sieges .
all masteries have the opposite mastery . the siege might has the siege bunker , etc

A few well placed water fields on the “sturdy ram classes” solves the trick get, some ac and balista, also might force defenders to came out, and its all good ifyour group is good at the open field, might works better than the omega spam that can be countered by mesmer and guardians.
I rather see longer fights and have fun, than this actual full stack server just to take on tower against 5-10 players.

This game needs duels option in pve/wvw, vs arenas (witn pve items) and GvG.
I can’t understand why Anet don’t get the idea and listen what the community is asking for since the release. Now, for that, they are losing a lot of ppl. Entire guilds transferring to another game. GOOD JOB ANET, you made it!
ANET is at fault, true enough. But the playerbase in this game is terrible. Mainly because we all talk about the game’s potential, and we all acknowledge after 2 years nothing has been done of significance from the developmental side (culling might count but Bloodlust doesnt). Yet we the players, have done nothing to make things better. Instead we still stack stupid off-peaks on certain servers, still have people tryharding PPT, still have massive transfers and server implosions, etc.
ANET has given up (essentially on this game mode), but yet the majority of the players have not changed a single thing since day 1 and are still somehow dumbfounded that things are “stale”.
The biggest problem right now, is that the game cannot sustain 24 servers or rather the population can’t. The people on the bottom think that the top should “destack”, and that was true 1.5 years ago…. But now the top is only mass-populated at the VERY top (NA 1-4).
This game could be fun again if the bottom 8 servers decided to mass xfer up into the top 16. Beyond that by this time next year likely the only servers with any population will probably be 1-6. (NA)
I can’t understand why Anet don’t get the idea and listen what the community is asking for since the release.
We asked for account bound commander tags, they are giving us those.
We asked for multicolour tags, they are giving us those.
We asked for account bound WXP, they gave us those.
Only problem is that it took 2 puppy years!
So from this what I take away is that, yes we all know they refused to listen to their WvW community. However now with players leaving they actually need to do something to try to keep people playing, so they have chosen “features” that were easy to do and release those.
This of course is more hypocrisy as apparently someone data mined the code and found that these coloured tags have been in the code for months, but they have only now just decided to make them live.
It’s too little too late, WvW is in the hospital’s ICU, whilst all the doctors and nurses are all gathered in pediatrics tending to some kid’s grazed knee.; with Mark the janitor walking by cleaning the floor, with earphones plugged in, not giving a single care to the screams of poor old WvW lying on the bed bleeding to death! And with Dr Devon’s pager going off continuously telling him to go to ICU urgently, but he’s too busy helping to cheer up the crying kid.

Players start stacking because that awful server system, after a lot of time playing in dead server getting destroyed week after week, OF COURSE ppl will going to transfer.
-Players try to duel. In a non-official way. Get bored because no support.
-Players try to GvG. In a non-official way. Get bored because no support.
-Players try to “BY FORCE” play the game like anet wants. Get bored because Anet never fix their own mode.
-Players collaborated A LOT in CDI, for what? 9 months later a color change?
-Player report a LOT of bug… Still stucked after build a ram, and ressing trough watergate.
-Players tried to play PPT, and tournaments. Get bored coz coverage issues, PvE farmers. And well, you know? Was anet who made that kittened achievements for PvE Achievement hunters and free transfer BEST IDEA EVER.
-Players do Karma train because Anet design the game for it.
-Players stack because Anet design the game for it.
The transfer right now is not to another server, the players are transferring out of this game.
A new Map would help.
Then you could keep the current map, the new map, and the old Map (let the control of the quaggans give the bloodlust buff). Bingo, some map variety.

It took them 10 months to release new commander tags (a change that probably took someone and hour to do). How quickly do you expect to see any major changes?
It’s the rewards. Or rather the relative lack thereof.

Living story and China. Those two are enough to eat up all the dev time and leave nothing for WvW. The coming feature pack is going to do nothing to stop the bleeding in WvW, the colored tags are great, golem mastery?, siege disabling? Can you say nothing burger. Oh yes, and the massive success of EotM. It has been massively successful at killing WvW. I suspect that is the intention. And let’s not forget the tournaments, server stacking just makes things rigged from the beginning and encourages guilds to forgot any idea of a “home server”. Anet protests adamantly that they want to keep server identity….. Yet every single new addition to the server structure has been to dismantle server identity. PvE and China must be the cash cows for this game… I don’t see any server based WvW by this time next year.

No new classes, no new weapons, very few new skills/traits, same game play as release and mostly minor class balance changes. The only reason WvW is still around is because there aren’t any better alternatives out there.
At the very least they should have made the poor performing skills/traits more viable. Instead we still look at nearly half the skills/traits in the game as competitively pointless.

I understand the pain a player feels when their server dies, BUT I do not think posting several hundred annoying posts across the boards will fix it, or even help even one of the threads currently under siege by the same 2-3 posters.
Personally I am sorry to see mags go, I enjoyed camp takes alone with the threat of mags roamers arriving.
