I’d like to address anyone interested in server pop fluctuations on EU to post their knowledge of any major influx/exodus of players to/from their servers (example: guild [XXX] moved to server A from server B with all their 150 ppl) and generally share their insight into their current server status.

This thread, thus, would allow contemplating players to better prepare for the decision to migrate to another home based on their current game preferences (example: Piken is very good and effective at guild-based WvW but null and void in PvE, and Blacktide has a larger overall pop that is great at PvE and does Wurms and Teq, but is near the bottom of bronze league for WvW). Your input could help others decide whether to invest into the game and move to a 2400gem gold-league server or use the opportunity to take free transfer to another world while Arenanet’s offer still stands.

Yeah, Ring of Fire has done well this week on transfers. I’m guessing 100+ dedicated WvW players just joined us and there is still one week with free transfers to join us.

Transfers to RoF won’t be free in the coming match, the prices are based on the rankings of March 14th and will stay like that up till the 28th

The majority of The Never Ending [NE] have moved from Ruins of Surmia and we’re rebuilding now on Gandara. A handful of [NE] are still on RoS under new leadership.

Actually, from my point of view it is gonna be kind of funny as we transferred from AG to RoF and we don’t have queues and we are in silver league as well…

On the other hand, matchup Gandara – RoF would be just pure roflstomping as for Miller’s and Fort Ranik, because that coverage of Gandara seems like it could easily compete to Gold league…

We had a recruitment post. We made it into a “we are full” post BEFORE free transfers opened. We also made a “do not come here” post last week. We have a website, listed contacts, a community website that is on the official list, and people posting all over these forums with “Gandara” in their signature. Oh, and we have queues. Fat, fat queues, every single night.

So excuse all those Gandarans who are utterly baffled and quite annoyed too everytime another guild announces they have moved here without any other kind of notice.

I am sorry but i disagree.
Gandara is the clear favourites and anything else will be a huge surprise.
After comes FSP who got 4-5 guilds and has also american guilds.
Normally Piken and Gunnars will be 3rd or 4th and that is fine by me.
Gunnars is currently the same server as 1-2 months ago as we didn’t get any influx of new guilds.
I sincerely hope that Gandara(i am not sure why Anet though it would be a great idea to give a strong silver league server free transfers) will endure this.

Personally i am not blaming players or guilds that are transferring to free or 800 gems servers.
However anet logic to determine transfer costs by wvw ranking is horrible,
Aurora and not only aurora got screwed by this.
Really Anet 1 rank difference and 5-6 rating difference costs 1600 gems more?
I am waiting in horror for their next decision.

Gandara got 2nd place in season 1. Since then they’ve only gotten stronger with no transfers off the server. This time, Desolation won’t be here to keep them in check. So I think their chances are pretty good.

I can assure you that most guild would have transfered off AG even if there werent any free transfers. There was some community drama and reasons I wont mention here.

It was 2 (TWO) guilds from AG who transfered to Gandara. And from what I know DAWN also decided to go to Gandara before free transfers were announced.

They would have come to us with our without free transfers and they came before the bandwagon. Sad to see that this hit AG hard, and I do hope you recover. This shake-up really has done more harm than good, the one comfort is that we will still be seeing those same guilds in silver league, albeit on different servers.

We really got fixed with free transfers by the roll of a die, if we hadn’t faced Dzagonur (230 rating points below us) that week we could have gained points more easily and maybe gotten into the 800 range, then things wouldn’t be so chaotic. Didn’t try to promote ourselves as a free transfer server, either.

Ah some people informed at what happened at aurora glade mate and as i said TuP and Dawn are well respected guilds among all of us who have faced you so i am in no way judging you from going to gandara.
However i do think that the way anet handled transfers is totally wrong.
Gandara was allready a strong server with good guilds and a very high population.
The decision to give that server free transfers 10 days before the league is completely wrong.
Tup and Dawn have proved that they are not bandwagon guilds and they do not go to a server just for the chance to win the league.
The problem is not you guys:)

Here’s a question: While most can probably understand your frustration; the server is provided by Anet? it’s not private, which means anyone can transfer if desired. The same applies to all servers. So how is it players on any given server can decide they do not want more players or guilds? (I am not on Gandara or wanting to transfer).

We are mainly PvErs. We have no intention of disrupting your WvW season or clogging up your Mists queues. But as our new home, we are of course rooting for Gandara to win. I merely posted here in the WvW forum because this is the only thread keeping track of the current server shuffling with the free transfers.

Frozen – Our WvW players are a little shell-shocked at the moment. Please forgive the impression that you are not welcome. We have a very vibrant PvE community who will make you feel right at home. They have a server alliance that makes sure everyone gets the opportunity to complete the big LS events and regularly do the world boss events. Even though our high PvE population means we have overflows for these events, most overflows get the job done as we have really good PvE commanders spread throughout – I managed to complete the last LS achievements in overflows because of our excellent PvE commanders. We are mainly PvErs. We have no intention of disrupting your WvW season or clogging up your Mists queues. But as our new home, we are of course rooting for Gandara to win. I merely posted here in the WvW forum because this is the only thread keeping track of the current server shuffling with the free transfers.

Sorry for my comment, but there is/was a thread that gave you enough info to contact gandara ( trough pm or www.thisisgandara.com). It’s just that at the moment we have a massive influx of guilds/ppl that could easily give us a heads up. So we also could keep track on what is going on.
We don’t mind getting ppl on our server… But would just love those ppl to be part of our community instead of overflowing us. Like Friday stated we have a nice pve community and a strong close wvw community. Those things are important for us because it keeps us in gw2.

And personally I don’t care of winning silver league, because in the long run those shinies mean kitten.
